——–

Mood settles down, crowd whispering,

Taking the microphone,

Sees phones glowing in darkness.

——

His sonorous voice ooos, flows,

Cascades in waves,

Crescendos — crowd sings each word.

——

Shivers down our spines, melodic —

Voice raised profoundly.

Clarity resounding, lyrics in hearts.

Sunday Photo Fiction: Poem – Wrapped Refrain (1) – “The End of The Dock” #amwriting #poetry #flashfiction #mentalhealth

——–

At the end of the dock, will she find —

Her own end? Will she find a kind —

Soul who wants to save a lost one?

There’s nothing new under the sun,

She doesn’t want to reach the dock’s ledge to jump —

Into water, to drown, heart ceasing its thumping.

——–

No one thinks they could reach this point,

No one sees beyond their own point.

Blind to the sad, anxious hoping,

Someone will throw her a life rope.

If she knew how to swim, maybe she could fight back?

Maybe she could cling to life even when attacked?

—–

She’s no superheroe who’s bent,

On killing her nemesis.

Her demons struggle within hid,

She keeps them sealed under tight lid.

Support her, help her, light the shadow of the lost,

No one knows when she cries, it’s not easy to stop.

—–

Waves inside her — tempestuous

They’re crippling waves, regardless

Beyond her sadness, waking up,

Worse than ignorance unjust.

Your lack of thought, with no empathy — she’s pleading,

You don’t try to learn or listen, she keeps bleeding.

——-

She said,”Not to judge a book by —

It’s pretty cover, how it looks.”

She pleads, “Listen to Atticus,

Walk around in my skin,” pick —

Wisely how you react; she’s scared of descending,

At the end of the dock, desperate to not be.

Sand beach, I bury my toes,

Sand squishes between them, I sigh;

Happy.

——

Blue sky so clear, clouds like cotton,

 Feel at home, reading trashy book;

Engrossed.

——

Hearing waves crashing in and out,

Aroma of salt, sea; sun streams;

Sunscreened.

—–

Scents of cocoanut and aloe

SPF 100 or I’ll burn quick;

Smoothed in.

——

Floppy hat and Marilyn swim suit,

Magazines read while the dog splashes;

Relaxed.

——

Blanket soft with a bit of sand,

Jackie.O sunglasses worn;

Content.

——

Wet dog shaking everywhere,

Angry crab in dogs mouth shook;

Laughing

——-

Calm, tranquility; wading in,

Ocean’s rhythm soothes, stops thinking;

Forget.

******

Sky fading purple; ocean green —

Dark and ominous, storm coming;

Watchful.

——

Rain starts to fall, cold and loud,

Taking umbrella down, packing;

Forced home.

——

Perfect beach moment gone for now,

Sitting in the cabin, storm roars;

Rain pours.

—–

Sleeping in silken covers, dog stretching,

She’s bathed, we’re napping, resting time;

Cuddles.

Notable Quotes February Part One #quotes #pinterest

Well, January has passed already. For me, it feels like it’s still right after Christmas. However, I won’t complain when the winter flies by fast — the sooner it flies by, the warmer it will be in Alberta.

But this too depends on several little ground hogs tomorrow, all who we do not really know if they’ve seen their shadow. So we’ll see, as for now some quotes to make you think. Cheers!

Photo Challenge: Poem – Cascading Etherees – “Sleep Walker”

Water Girl Brook Shaden Photography
Brooke Shaden Photography

Resplendent woman in her ivory gown,

Treading downstairs in sleep, not knowing,

Dreams guide her graceful body through,

A darkened house, unaware —

Their mama walks in sleep,

Following her story,

Playing out in,

Dream –

Scapes.

She’s,

But a —

Waif as she,

Opens the front,

Door, padding barefoot,

Unto the beach, squishing,

Sand between her toes, walking,

To the ocean’s shore, where waves pull,

Lantern in hand, believes she’ll become,

A mermaid, as she wades in waters deep.

Waves brush her thighs, makes her gown sodden, wet.

She doesn’t realize anything is wrong but —

She keeps wading into the ocean,

Despite, the cold and water,

Trying to suck her down,

She keeps walking,

Knowing that,

Reward,

Waits.

Waist,

Deep she,

Kicks off from,

Sandy bottom,

She floats, her lantern —

Lights the way, as water comes,

Up to her waist and past her —

Chest as she swims, dreaming she has,

Her mermaid’s tale, joins her sisters in —

Ocean, she greets them, soaring in the waves.

From the house, a small girl watches, mama sink.

Tears roll down, soft cheeks; mom doesn’t return.

“Stay away from the ocean girl,” her —

Grandma always warned them.

Mama needed freedom,

Didn’t actually die.

Daughter knows she,

Swims in deep,

Peaceful

Now.

Girl,

Is sad,

But knows her –

Most loved mama,

Goes to happier place,

To ocean’s froth, she’s free.

Gran cooks pancakes, strawberry —

Sauce and whipped cream; mama’s favorite,

Girl watches with delight how mermaids play,

Sees Mom flip jade tail, waving to her girl.

The Storyteller’s Abode (Louise)

A time piece once given.

Cliff it tumbles,

Her Grandfather’s watch,

Forever lost, his presence grieved.

Maydays: Poem – Wrapped Refrain – “To the Water” #Maydays

—–

Thank you to K.L. Caley of new2writing for hosting #Mayday prompts. Today’s prompt is a tale about water.

——

http://www.galmeetsglam.com

——

When I’m feeling down and upset,

When life’s challenged me to forget,

I travel to the sea, waves aquamarine.

Bathing suite, sunglasses, and sunscreen.

On a beach  spending time rejuvenating, sleeping.

Better to vacation then let life overtake feelings.

——

Can’t allow life to depress you,

Work through it with waves blue,

Walkng shore, water washes away,

Stress and trial, giving free sway.

See you spend your time in the oceans water tumbling,

Carefree, smile returns, spirit glows, ire crumbling.

—–

So set your spirit free swimming,

See the sun on water glimmer.

Let the kids play with floating toys,

In shallow water laughing joy,

A beach day was all you needed to let go life’s pain.

When I’m feeling low, water aides, even merely, rain.

Mother Earth
http://www.fitfitmagazine.nl

Calling her Mother, created in beginning,

Adoration is hers, our provider,

Gods hands formed, but yet she falters,

He said be her caregiver,

Taking more then we’re meant,

Using her until she —

Is broken, torn,

We gouged,

For fuel,

Earth.

—-

Child,

of her,

Beginnings,

Forgetting our place,

Nurture her as she,

Nurtures her caretakers,

Ignorance destroys beauty,

Creator so lovingly beheld and,

Let us name earth’s creatures — disappearing.

Don’t forget, protect earth, greed consumes her.

Through thousands, perhaps, millions of years past,

She’s shifted and shook, born massive waves.

Mother’s rage, brings disastrous tears,

Volcanoes spewing lava,

Mountains losing their face,

Forests, fires, and ash.

Tornado wound,

Earth torn

Lost.

Our,

fault true,

Had we not,

Eaten forbidden,

Earth would be perfect,

Sin infects entire world,

Blame ourselves for her eruptions,

Our Forefathers, corrupted nature complete.

Earth’s damage repair, or she self-destructs.

Blank Verse - unrhymed Iambic Pentameter, My Thoughts, Poetry, Short Stories And Serial Stories, Writing

Writing 101: Farewell – ” The Road Ends Here.”

What can you say to someone walking away,

Down the last road they’ll ever take and with their–

Head held high, a smile on their lips and not–

A thing that they could ever want in time left.

The road ends here.

You were beautiful and full of life you,

Had that smile dead women walking have, you said:

“Lord knows it’s been a hard life and that won’t–

Change on this earth but I know my moment.”

The Road ends here.

Walking out into the surf , your eyes glow,

The sunlight transforms your pale wan frame.

In the blink of tears you are on the road,

A spiritual quest, you won’t be returning.

The Road ends here.

You wave goodbye, your a pretty twenty-one year old.

You have lived your pain, now it’s time to feel,

Reckless with abandon, because you have,

Gone to your eternal home; I miss you.

The Road ends here.

Memories of you keep me strong and I,

Find that I can carry on and live life how,

You wanted us to live, free and hard working,

Having known your love and deeper loves, we say:

The Road ends here.

Flash Fiction For Aspiring Writers – To a Special Woman

She was sitting alone on a beach and she felt different than she had ever felt. She was young and beautiful and she was perfect; her beauty had no flaws. She was eternally youthful and magnificent. She could do anything she wanted her body was limber and strong.

The beach was the most peaceful place she had ever been. The tide washed up, but the water was transparent. The sand was white like pearls and glimmered. Her perfect eyes took in everything; her vision so sharp she could see far away. And where her vision stopped a seeing in her mind took over.

That’s when she realized she felt no pain. No pain, it was the strangest feeling. There was no aching in her bones. No headache and no sickness. Their was a sense of well-being and harmony within her. She knew then that there was only one place she could be, and she smiled in her radiant youth and walked towards the brilliant orange setting sun.

In Memory of Barbara Beacham.
