She’s a porpoise in water swim,

Life for her, no playful passing whim.

In gossamer gown, butterfly —

Letting out her breath, with sad sigh.

Out of cocoon perhaps she’ll break?

If breathing didn’t count for her sake.

An angel dipping her wings in the dim.

A lonely child, she floats, won’t swim.

——

Don’t give up your life in a breath,

Child with wings now so brightly set.

You’re no worm to be ashamed,

No worthless being created, blamed.

Diamond glimmers in God’s eye,

He sees in you no flaw, child abide.

You’re precious treasure life or death,

He handles all — porpoise deep breath.

——-

Dive in ocean, swim quick mammal,

Don’t be still — inhale air, expand —

Your lungs to breathe, realize —

Reasons, break cacoon and fly.

Leave world behind, most treasured,

You’re worth much more for measure.

Costly jewel cherished in God’s hand,

Angel breathe; let grief form tears on land.

Poem: Wrapped Refrain –  “Relationships and Childhood”

Thanks to The Daily Post for the prompt words Childhood, Sky, Purpose, and Angry.

——-

What made us now, this moment past

How’d we become so frail, like glass.

Feelings torn, mended, stitches —

Reopened, wounds our glitches.

Remembering yet, we’re sky high humans so lost.

Can we find, the purpose of us charred, at what cost?

——

What is it to have faith, to believe?

Words your lips intone I perceive?

See we only through the looking —

Glass; are reflections picture books,

Children read us, seeing clearer, we’re angry and —

Getting madder; if only sky cleared, clouds not sad .

——

Our faces to the little ones,

Need appear smiling, not loathsome.

Bring back laughter, joy, and pleasure.

Find every day peace, time treasured.

So their childhood vision is happiness and light.

Through our faces, read clear, inner peace, delight.

——

If in each other we peer past,

The anger each possess and fast,

Find paths through shadows dark and grim,

Maybe, then we search beyond sin.

See the rain drop on cool skin, sliding, patterns desire.

Eyes are opened wide; blast of furnace, passion fires.

——

Our own mystery of life we guard,

Though life throw many dangers hard.

We prevail, faith our purpose and —

Each other’s love; though time stand —

Not still for anyone of us on earth, who’s living,

What made us now, taught us in childhood to forgive.

Writing 101 – My Dog and Living Things

20140810-103354-38034266.jpg

My most treasured possession passed away last March. Her name was Nikki and she was my favorite dog ever. I wrote a few blog posts on her passing as she was becoming sick and when she was gone so I will just put the links in for you to read:

That Day Came My Dog is Old

Suffering

An Empty House

And I guess other than that I would like to note I love lots of things that are actual things. I like to be comfortable and I like to beautify myself and my home. But if it came down to it I could with great sorrow leave everything because God and people (and sometimes pets) are the most important things in my life. They are not possessions but living entities and for this fact all the more valuable to me.

Thanks so much for all your comments and wonderful writing!
