Tiny princess laughs,

Toes bloodied;

Sweet Ballerina —

You mustn’t eat much,

You’re soft feet,

Will not be pretty.

But you’re talent it —

Enfolds, shocks;

Tears, sweat, soar legs ache —

Shaking; muscled sleek,

No black swan,

Sugar plum waking.

Fair dancer bending,

Lifted high,

Bowing to her dreams.

Friday Fictioneer: When The Wheel Stops Turning

Thanks to Rochelle Wiseoff-Fields for hosting FF.

Bruno’s days were spent turning the wheel, bored and physically exhausted. At night he returned to his hovel, barely awake enough to eat thin gruel. In the day there was mead to ensure the serfs didn’t rebel.

But the mead wasn’t helping today. Bruno glared at the the serf master, upset he didn’t even know what or why this wheel turned.

One day when the serf master tried to whip them, Bruno reached out and caught the whip grabbing it and knocking the serf master out. He ran as far away as he could run.

Bruno heard in the east, a landowner was giving out pieces of property in return for part of the proceeds; he thought this would be a much better living — at least, he hoped.

Friday Music Prompt:  Poem – A L’Arora – ” Obesssion Deludes” #amwriting #poetry #music

Thanks to MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie for hosting the Friday Music Prompt. Friday’s song was, “Waiting for Tonight” by Jennifer Lopez.

(Her View)

Tonight’s the night he’s meeting me here later

Passions ignited, we’ve fires, need sating

All the desires of our time together, at last met

I’ll be shaking, moaning, chasing the stars

Caught in the moment, we’ll shatter as glass

Wrapped in your strong arms, I’ll have a blast.

Waiting for tonight, excitement beaming

When you and I are lovers holding,  fast.

——

Preening, applying makeup and shaking

Preparing for you, our first time creating.

Ensuring our night’s perfect; it’ll end complete.

Skin grazingcaressing, nothing sub-par

Lovers busy enjoying repast

Perfect lingerie, beneath a gown fast

Becoming a favourite; it’s perfect and tight

Rip it off, no need to be so classy

——

Waiting for tonight, our love embracing,

Perfection between us, this night for our sake.

I’ve planned it exactly, we’ll not overstep

Each moments vital, at the finale beseech.

Give into our lust, marvel in love far —

Better than any you’ve ever had; here we’ll last,

Until mornings stunning rays of light

I wait for him, he’s mine; trembling, my hands clasp.

——

(His View)

Tonight it came, the nightmare couldn’t wait

She’s obssessed, unstable, any day she’ll break.

Better to stop, was never invested, not set

On staying with her; she’s a whale beached.

Though thin like a beanpole, not nice at all

Loathsome personality, running fast —

Driving passed; her obsession frightening

I was ‘nice’ once or twice, now there’s an impasse.

——

Need freedom, her annoying voice I hate,

Can life be normal again? Not Hell made?

Can I touch the one I love, and not regret

Bringing him into drama; twice I cheated,

Boyfriend enraged; a dumb girl caused my fall.

Told her, “I like men most;” but left aghast —

She doesn’t care, spoiled girl; not smart, no insight,

Traps into engagement; I’ll always pass

November Notes: Poem – Day 10 –  Tanka – “Air Space” #amwriting #novembernotes #music #poetry

Today’s prompt song is “Air” by Rayvon Owen.

——

“Air” – Rayvon Owen

———

http://www.pinterest.com

——-

Holding onto air,

Nothing even their, it’s all–

Turning into air.

Can’t make something from nothing.

Can’t take back time, do-over.

—–

Your silhouette,

It’s disappearing into —

Air so thin, can’t breath.

All we have is a shattered–

Empty past, hanging by a thread.

—–

We were never whole,

The definition of good.

We were always flawed,

We never healed, didn’t —

Accept, when we saw the end.

——

Splinters of glass hurt,

When embedded in my skin,

Pieces of the past,

They’re a pain felt rawly,

A pain that doesn’t improve.

——

The clock ticking by,

You grasp for my form — I’m air,

You can keep trying.

You know your holding thin air,

Us, we’re gone, invisible.

——

Let the lights burn out,

We can’t raise what’s  cold and dead.

The past remains gone,

Stop holding onto air, it —

Isn’t real; we’ve both dissolved.

——

Life’s not fair, I’m sure —

Later we’ll know we did right.

Now we gasp for air,

Let conversation cease, fade.

Nothing to say, it’s been said.

#OctPoWriMo – Day 18 – Free Verse – “Don’t Take Her I Pray” #amwriting #poetry

Day 18 Prompt: Senseless

“There’s so much going on the the world today where the word “senseless” would apply. Take a few minutes to free write about things you find to be senseless.”
——–

http://www.vividscreen.info

——

Don’t take her I pray,

Are the words prayed in vain?

Don’t take her I say,

We’re still young, not grey.

Don’t take her I said,

She’s such a light to her friends.

Don’t take her I beg;

She’s a star growing dim.

Don’t take her I ask,

Her absence would be a hole, pitch black.

Don’t let her leave us,

Tears stream and stream.

Don’t take her away,

She has a little guy, just two.

Don’t take her I pray,

She’s beautiful and frail.

Don’t take her I ask,

Little bird, fading away.

Don’t take her I pray,

There is no one like her.

——

Don’t take her I cry,

You’ll make her mom grey.

Don’t take her I pray,

Yet, I don’t want her in more pain.

Please help her I pray,

She needs a miracle.

Don’t leave her I pray,

She needs you Lord–carry her.

Don’t take her I pray,

Give  her your strength.

Hold her so tight in your loving arms,

Don’t let her fade,

My cherished friend.

Don’t take her I pray,

She’s tired and hurting.

Don’t take her away,

She has a future of potential.

Don’t take her I pray,

Her husband loves her too much.

Don’t take her I beg,

Don’t let her light flicker out,

Into the darkness –out of life.

Don’t let go of her hand,

Don’t take her from us;

Time in life is too short.

Don’t take her away,

Our inspiring fighter.

Don’t take her please, Lord,

She’s so tired of being ill.

——

Don’t let her hurt Lord,

There is too much pain in life.

Save her from such fiery claws, I beg,

There is too much pain within —

Cancer’s horrid grip.

Don’t take her away,

Don’t let her struggle be for not.

Don’t let her sparkle dim.

Don’t take her God please,

She’s such a beautiful soul;

Oh God keep her close.

Let her heal and be whole,

She prays and she reads your words,

You’re her fervent hope.

Don’t take her away,

Good Lord, let her be free;

Don’t take her from life yet,

Though she’d be at your side,

Down here, we’ll miss her terribly.

Only if there is no other way,

Do I pray you for your will to take.

Please, don’t take her away —

Leave her be well;

Healthy and free of all sickness.

Fill our dolly with healing,

Lord our hope, Lord our light,

Bring her hope on wings of life.

Poem: Free Verse – “Thick, Thin, and Tequila” #amwriting #poetry

Polyvore on Pinterest

———

You balance out my dance,

And it isn’t per-chance,

You’re the same women who tipped,

Me back with a few drinks ten-years-ago.
Who talked to me in words much deeper

Much clearer than my confused soul.

You understood the words of my heart

Despite tequila, despite red red wine,

Maybe, even despite the way I was acting —

Dragged down by life’s issues,

You always knew what I was hiding

Those secrets destroying me,

Never stayed hidden long.

You laughed and you smiled

Gave me hugs and even —

A shot of apple whiskey,

Or possibly a jello shooter.

In younger years we may have —

Only been egging each other on to drink,

But we also learned to say to each other,

Friend, I think you’ve had enough.”

We’ve learned to have good times,

Drinking nothing but tea,

Or a single glass of our favourite wine.

You’re always happy to see me,

And I miss being closer to all of you.

In these years you encourage me,

For a few hours, for an early night —

To for a moment forget

The problems which haunt me,

You forget yours too —

We have fun, play some games

You tell me to —

“Celebrate with us and let life’s troubles —

Go up in the fire’s smoke.

Forget your health, your other woes,

Know us better, we know you best,”

Years do not contest, the same kind faces,

Always there, from nights at the bar,

To tamer houses parties because —

Responsibilities they matter more now.

You balance out my dance,

My friends, my connections

To myself, the real world,

The way things could be, would be —

The way things are,

You balance out my dance,

In ways tequila never stood a chance,

 My history, my friends,

My ones I have chosen, as you’ve chosen me,

To walk with me as adults,

Maybe someday in our old-age?

For now we play games and laughter rings,

It’s contagious and sets me free.

Cheers my soul,

That unknowingly

You would lift my burdens from me

Give me pause and make me think.

(The adult sipping on her Zinfandel,

To make the tequila flavour go away.)

My friends, confidents,

Who accept me for me,

You set me free and give me faith,

That I can face the bad guys,

Live another day;

Just to see you all laugh uproarasly.

To see a fire glow and gleam,

Beneath the silver moon,

And a game of flippy-cup by fires light.

Some things never change.

Friends playing, and in all seriousness saying:

“Everyone needs a night or two,

To let go and live freely,

And not overthink.”

Your bestfriends give you liberty

Your best friends hold on to you

Through thick, thin, and tequila.

Three Line Tales: You Gave Me Your Time Piece #amwriting #fiction #3Linetales

Thank you to Sonya of Only 100 Words for hosting #3LineTales.

——-

Rachel Crowe

——

1. You gave my your time piece, a silver heavy object, you kept in your suit pocket watching it often as time tick-tocked away; you were healthy, smiling, said you needed me to keep your watch close.

2. You gave me your time piece and I did not understand why at first; it was only a silly pocket watch and it ticked and it tocked as you feverishly slept in bed, growing sickly, pale, thinner, and telling me your time was coming.

3. You gave me your time piece, I knew what it meant now; we’d no children to pass it onto, we were both so young; yet, here I am, holding your ashes in an urn and as I throw them into the troubled ocean, it occurs to me in the silence –the time piece stopped ticking.

Writing 101: NonFiction – Today’s Perfect Writing Spot #everdayinspiration

Today’s topic is the perfect writing spot.

——–

http://www.dailymail.co.uk

——–

I vaguely remember writing on this topic before, or maybe I read other people’s posts on it but I will give it a try nonetheless.

Many of you know I suffer from a depressive mood disorder which has caused me severe fatigue these past eight-years. I only mention it because I have experienced great improvement with my mental energy levels especially, and a bit with my physical energy levels this past year. Particular supplements have also aided my increase in energy levels.

But I always have bad days now and then. When I was worse I had more bad days than good days and now I would say I only have a bad day one or two days every couple of weeks. What makes a bad day a bad day varies but often means I’m too mentally and physically worn out to do much of anything; I wake up this way.

Today, I found until tonight, I could not concentrate well on writing or reading blogs or books. I would try going through my email to read through some of your posts and I didn’t have it in me to pay attention and give thought to what I was reading or what to comment. I also found myself glossing over pages in books where I regularly would be intent on what was happening to the characters.

I decided to catch up on some TV shows I’d missed the finales of and a show I miss because it’s on in the morning. I like Fashion Friday on a Canadian morning show called Cityline so I watched that as I often sleep through it. Additionally, I watched The Vampire Dairies’ grizzly season Finale and the season Finale for Grimm. I loved both finales and I’m eager for next season’s storylines for each show.

But today mostly consisted of me sitting and watching TV and even after awhile I went to my room and I laid down, needing to sleep a couple hours, feeling as if I needed the nap today. It’s odd, usually I don’t need to nap. I tried to put effort into healthy meals and I thought about walking, but I didn’t have a walk in me.

Most often, I’m up untill 11:00 pm or 12:00 pm but tonight I’m lying in my comfy bed in a sleep shirt, tucked into my cozy duvet and fresh sheets and it’s only 9:00 pm.

I cleaned up my room on Friday and Saturday, completely organizing everything. It’s a nice feeling being in a clean room, no dust, no papers in piles, everything organized, even my clothes and shoes.

At this moment, feeling drained as I have most of the day, I’m writing to you in my perfect writing place in bed on my iPad. I invested in a newer version after Christmas as the old model didn’t have enough GBs. This has 64 GB, enough for ebooks, a large iTunes music collection, and many applications. It also a thinner tablet which is lighter to hold.

The light the iPad gives off in my dim room is fantastic for writing and being comfortable lying down. So, even though this isn’t usually where I write, tonight in bed, is my favourite and ideal writing space.

Tomorrow it will change, but then, tomorrow’s another day and I will have energy to write more and read more again, to take a walk in the warm May weather, maybe even write on the patio. For now, everything is as it should be.

Sorry, I don’t know how to explain a bad day better then I did; it is what it is. It is too difficult to explain unless you’ve experienced it or something similar. Most people are able to keep going in life despite hiccups such as feeling energy-less. But this is a fatigue which stops you in it’s tracks. Nothing can make your body draw on more energy; there is no energy to draw from. Which is why this is severe fatigue I experience and not only being sleepy or tired.

Thanks for reading. Back to fiction, poetry, likes, and commenting on your blogs tomorrow.

NaPoWriMo: Poem – Long Lines – “Eleven- Years Strong “

Finally, our prompt (optional, as always!) Today’s prompt comes to us from Megan Pattie, who points us to the work of the Irish poet Ciaran Carson, who increasingly writes using very long lines. Carson has stated that his lines are (partly) based on the seventeen syllables of the haiku, and that he strives to achieve the clarity of the haiku in each line. So today, Megan and I collectively challenge you to write a poem with very long lines. You can aim for seventeen syllables, but that’s just a rough guide. If you’re having trouble buying into the concept of long lines, maybe this essay on Whitman’s infamously leggy verse will convince you of their merits. Happy writing!

Please see NaPoWriMo for more information.

Missing the ladies, who I grew into adulthood with and we saw,

The Grand Canyon in its burnt orange and red glory set,

Peering far down into the canyon, too close to the edge smiling,

Pulling each other back, to flash pictures on cameras all of us worn.

And planning each Thursday night to go dancing and drinking down on Whyte,

Collecting free drinks, shots from young men, paying ninty-nine-cents at the end.

Frequently, snapping pictures at winter formals, wearing our finest,

Staying at the fanciest and most historical hotel for sixty bucks,

Four girls to a room, preparing their hair and makeup, perfection, beauty.

If only I could be as fat, as I thought I was at twenty-one-years-old,

Thinking my stomach stuck-out, it wasn’t concave, it was fine and flat.

Walking through Vegas in stiletto heels, not feeling the pain, lost shoe —

My friend had a lovely Silky black-heel, she dropped walking back, barefoot.

Crying at 3:00 am (forget), remember times smiling and laughing.

Working in the same store, I dream I work their at night with my ladies,

Now raising kids, puppy training, fiancés, husbands, moving in — life changes.

From twenty-years-old to thirty-one-years old nearly; eleven years still strong.

We crave,

Is each of,

Us having love,

Trust.

The wound which,

Past experience,

Made.

Harming with,

Scent, warmth, promise,

Lies.

Deteste,

You inside,

Out loud, vocal,

Cheat.

On women,

Lowly dragon–

Your

Bites sting,

Taking it,

All, everything,

Thief.

I’ll

Never

Trust him,

When he comes by,

Ruined.

Rip,

Apart,

Women who,

Seem little girls,

Cry.

—-

The,

Inner,

Child she lives,

Laughing, alive,

Dies.

Her heart,

Break spirit,

Use body gifted,

Lust.

A proud girl,

Knew herself, not —

You

Worst man,

She’s ever,

Met, broken child,

Where

Are you,

Beneath your,

Monster eating,

Souls.

—-

Hide,

Behind,

Your pretty,

Blue eyes, devise —

Pain.

—-

You,

Don’t mean,

A word you,

Say talking fibs,

You proud,

Made woman,

Cry, in pain, rage,

Run!

She

Bites ’cause,

She’s been here,

Before, deceived,

Worn.

Leaving,

Quietly,

Stand and explain,

Truth.

You,

Wanted,

Her sweet body,

Fat, thin, perfect,

Thrall.

Tore,

At you,

She has needs,

Emotions stun,

Dumb.

Did,

You peer,

Inside her,

Beauty forming,

Shines.

Look,

Within,

Find your girl,

Queen to your King.

Safe.

Work through it,

Make her not one–
