Sunday Photo Fiction Part 5: The Exchange

Part 4: Roman Ruins and Revenge

It had been months since Graham had seen Allie. He missed her terribly. Allie’s kidnapper Jax had asked for increasingly more money in exchange for Allie.

Now here Graham was with ten-million-dollars in a drab duffle bag, waiting in the front of a big rig truck for Jax to come get the money. He did not know what Jax’s problem was. He remembered him from school and his day’s at Stanford University in Business. Jax was extremely competitive.

They had been friends once, but then Jax became exasperated one evening after Graham had picked-up a girl Jax had his eye on. He told Graham he was tired of how Graham’s family always paid for Graham and Graham never had to work for anything. Jax was tired of coming in second in everything in life to Graham. When Graham’s sister Cassandra, Jax’s on again off again girlfriend, dumped him for one of Graham’s other friends, Jax blamed Graham. Now Jax was a powerful criminal and Graham was at his mercy.

Graham waited and waited for Jax to come get the money so he would return his beloved Allie. But when Allie showed up with a gun pointed at Graham and took the money Graham was shocked. She hit Graham over the back of the head with the gun and darkness took him and his heart broke when he saw Allie through the window kissing Jax and riding off into the sunset without Graham.
