Witch drums pounding

Witch drums, I’ll escape your hell

Hell is the death in your eyes

Hell is the blankness in your stare

Stare at today, world has changed

Stare at today, yet we’re all here afraid

Afraid of your spiders

Afraid of your mangled crowns

Crowns are for glory

Crowns aren’t for the gory

Gory I predict your future will be

Gory I predict as your trigger finger pulls

Pulls into hate

Pulls us into helplessness

Helplessness, you say hold your hand

Helplesssness, if I give in, I am damned

Damned by your words

Damned by your voice

Voice of sultry sin

Voice of evil intent

Intent of voice to charm

Intent of voice to bring pain and shoot

Shoot your arrow through the hope in me

Shoot your arrow through the hope in this world

World you’ve with your private hell

World is not yet without hallejeuhs

Hallejeuhs set me free

Hallejeuhs have more power

Power greater than the wretched Cupid you’ve become

Power greater than your hand scrunching tight my own

My own prison in your grasp

My own hell is you, on earth

Earth which you blacken

Earth which you pollute

Pollute our minds with lies

Pollute our minds with lyrics

Lyrics sung, no love song, you’re no Cupid

Lyrics screamed, you’re the pitch of dark

Dark of night without hope

Dark of night unfolds its wrath

Wrath so great, I hold my Halo

Wrath so great I stutter my prayers

Prayers so intent, my Halo is safe

Prayers so intent, your tar-black is smothered by light

Light washes away your petrude charade

Light shines upon your malicious deeds

Deeds should be done to bring light, not frighten

Deeds should be done to bring light, not frighten

Poem: Petrarchen (Italian) Sonnet – “Pirate Treasure Lost” #amwriting #poetry #sonnet

Elzabeth Swann : Pirates of The Caribbean – Keira Knightly (en.wikipedia.org)

————

There’s a map, in whose treasures know not I.
No ruby, emeralds, or Dabloons reside.
There’s no treaty by which I’m bound to abide.

Hidden crowns gold, dripping silver so alive.

The pirate in me razes, rum drinking by slides,

Statues of marble from the crypt I hide.

Burying paintings, my beloved Renoir’s,

X Marks the spot where all treasure confides.

——-

But I’ll not tell you it’s value hid deep.

Presence lost in jungle, where spiders creep,

Deadly venom, no cure can fight, to speak.

The map survives, a tattoo inked in sleep,

Adventure awaits, your life to beseech.

Trespassers beware; in quicksand you’ll weep.

A List of Quirks #amwriting #lists

This week Le Duchesse D’Erat‘s list prompt is a list of our quirks.

——

1. Lists – I make lists for most everything, to remember information, to remember items I have to buy at the store, to make note of something I want to research more, etc. It’s a memory tool but I also feel such gratification when I can cross items off my list.

2. Spiders and bugs – I despise them. Spiders are the worst but I’m not fond of any kind of bug. I wish they would stay outside, all of them good bugs or bad.

3. Dishes – I like to wash them in the dishwasher. I don’t understand people who do their dishes by hand when they have a new working dishwasher (unless it’s a pot or large dish). Your dishwasher uses hotter water to wash your dishes to kill bacteria and not to mention, it uses less water than you do washing dishes by hand. Washing dishes which could go into the dishwasher, is a waste of water.

4. Organization – I’m quite organized. You may not be able to tell I’m organized but I know exactly where I put things and why, so I get annoyed when people try to organize me because it pretty much puts me into chaos and then I have to go and fix everything. So, if I do something a certain way, I have my reasons.

5. Clothes/Makeup – I like to look put together and stylish. I know in the end clothes and makeup are things but when I dress nice and my makeup appears nice, I feel better. I feel prepared and I feel like I can face whatever will come my way. Also, having to attend medical appointments or whatever kind of appointments, and meetings, I have found looking your best effects how you are perceived and often treated. I like to look as if I take care myself well and my appearance matters.

6. Eating – I’m a picky eater. I’ll leave it at that. I don’t eat carbohydrates almost at all. And when I follow a diet, I do better eating healthy, than not planning my meals.

“Gino you’re a talented Renaissance style art-restorer. We’re hopeful you can restore the painting of the dome frescos for the Cathedral.” Roberto an art historian said.

“Gentlemen,” Gino said, ” This dome was touched up recently, and not finished.”

“Can you complete it?” Marlin, the second art historian asked.

Gino nodded, “For a price.”

“Of course,” Roberto readily agreed.

“Okay, I’ll start now.” Gino remarked, climbing the scaffolding with his tools.

He worked tiressly until one morning Gino refused to go up the scaffolding.

“What is it Gino?” Marlin asked running from his office hearing the commotion between Roberto and Gino.

“Spiders, huge spiders everywhere. It’s why the first restorer never finished.” Gino said with disgust.

“But –” Roberto began, but Gino cut him off.

“Burn the place. Nothing but fire will destroy these specific spiders.” Gino insisted.

The frescos on the dome remain half restored.

Gino spread the news through out Italy, gigantic spiders terrorize the famous Cathedral dome.

Writing 101 – Sleep –  ” Terror’s Embrace”

In the battle with soft covers, her body cries for sleep; for in this nightmare, her weeping will not cease.

There are spiders spinning webs and a room that needs vacuuming; having spiders on the brain is a terrible fear of hers.

And she can feel the pain of her muscles as her fingers clench; her neck throbs incessantly. And she is trying to run away and sink into a pink sunrise.

In a dreamscape made of terror, could morning come any sooner? But coiled in her mind is the snake gliding around her body, telling her she cannot sleep tonight.

It surrounds her ribs and she is short of breath; the coils are an evil, slippery and slimy, another nightmare calling. Turning her body purple as she fights to find some air.

And then there is the sharp pain in her body; a multiple stabbing in her stomach, something worse than hunger. And her child is screaming as the darkness kills her.

The pain it feels real, but she is watching from a distance. The blood pools below, and the poor boy keeps watching. His mother crying awfully, telling him to run.

And then she is trying to find a home. But everyone turns her away. Clearly, she recalls, “there was no room at the inn.” And she never finds her home until she transforms into a girl.

Then she is back with her family. Playing Lego with her brothers, before she sees spiders spinning. She tries to smash them and to vacuum the webs away.

Her body arches and rises, it aches to wake. She is trying to get up. But a rush of blood to her brain causes spinning. And she cannot bend her neck.

She waits, and looks to escape her dream. But a nightmare has hold of her. She is indebted to the darkness; an avenging angel caught in terror’s embrace.

Will she ever wake? Glory comes at the rising of the sun. She will destroy the dreamscape forging with fire in her eyes.

The haunted becomes the hunter and spiders burn in their webs.  She heals stab wounds with a battle cry and fire burns her assailant.

She cuts the snake to pieces and finds a place to call her home. In her bedroom is her, lying on the bed. She wars in cotton sheets in dreams. A woman who controls her nightmares; she is Queen of her own fears.

Writing 101 – Spiders

I was 3 – years-old when I locked myself in a closet with a spider. He dangled on his wispy string and came towards me and I shot to the other end of the closet and fell asleep. That was the first time I hated spiders.

The next was when my Dad built me my room in a large pantry room in our old house. But since it was a pantry before you see, with concrete floor and large closets, and with a creaky teal door that opened up into a vast ceiling; when I first moved into that new room at the age of 8 there were spiders everywhere. I was afraid of them. I would come home from my Grandparent’s house after a sleep over and find 3 kinds of spiders sitting on the wall in the corner of my room. If my room got to messy there were spiders and one day there was this huge black spider on the wall and my Dad killed it but I was so afraid a spider would crawl into my bed that my Mom had to check the blankets in my bed for spiders. I was sure there was one in there!

Now, I’m 29-years-old and I still have this irrational fear of spiders. I can handle the little ones, but in my bathroom downstairs there has been this army of spiders this summer, and my Dad won’t kill them for me anymore but my brother took out a few when he was over. The vacuüm is heavy and hard to bring downstairs so often I just throw a book on the spiders and step on it until the spider is squished and dead.

Sometimes I just let them hide in corners but no more. The vacuüm is downstairs today and I have a spray bottle full of water and mint oil. Spiders hate mint! I only needed a few drops of the oil but I put 10 in the bottle just in case and I will vacuüm my washroom everywhere and spray ever corner with mint — under the counter, behind the door, the window, and behind the garbage can. Will this keep those spiders away? I hope so, I hate them tremendously, you have no idea, they are one of my greatest fears.
