“Dearest Stay Near”

Leave me not without your light, not ever,

The truth’s time stretches too far when you’re gone.

I will wait for your touch, your kiss, missing my —

Lips to meet yours, in the darkened airport.

Stay by my side, so close, as dusk’s fire dims black,

Let not my suffering grow, a mound burying.

Spirals of ash, the lost smoke that lingers,

Catching my breath, stealing my heart’s true rest.

Your presence in tides ‘neath Stars remain,

Your eyes bold lights fading not on far shores.

You, my complement, don’t wander far,

I reach for your hands, you’re gone with the dawn.

Each lands a labyrinth where you I seek still,

Leave me not here, to thirst and perish.

“Don’t Go Far Off” — Pablo Nurado

Leave me not without your light, not ever,

Don’t go far off, not even for a day, because —

The truth’s time stretches too far when you’re gone.

because — I don’t know how to say it: a day is long

I will wait for your touch, your kiss, missing my —

and I will be waiting for you, as in an empty station

Lips to meet yours, in the darkened airport.

when the trains are parked off somewhere else, asleep.

Stay by my side, so close, as dusk’s fire dims black,

Don’t leave me, even for an hour, because

Let not my suffering grow, a mound burying.

then the little drops of anguish will all run together,

Spirals of ash, the lost smoke that lingers,

the smoke that roams looking for a home will drift

Catching my breath, stealing my heart’s true rest.

into me, choking my lost heart.

Your presence in tides ‘neath Stars remain,

Oh, may your silhouette never dissolve on the beach;

Your eyes bold lights fading not on far shores

may your eyelids never flutter into the empty distance

You, my complement, don’t wander far,

Don’t leave me for a second, my dearest,

I reach for your hands, you’re gone with the dawn.

because in that moment you’ll have gone so far

Each lands a labyrinth where you I seek still,

I’ll wander mazily over all the earth, asking,

Leave me not here, to thirst and perish.

Will you come back? Will you leave me here, dying?

#NaPoWriMo Day 7/Photo Challenge: Poem – Bop – “Sanguine Souls” #amwriting #photochallenge #poetry #MLMM

For NaPoWriMo Day 7 the Prompt is: writing out a list of all of your different layers of identity. These are all ways you could be described or lenses you could be viewed through. Now divide all of those things into lists of what makes you feel powerful and what makes you feel vulnerable. Now write a poem in which one of the identities from the first list contends or talks with an identity from the second list. Combining with NEKNEERAJ from MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie photoChallenge.

Woman child in graceful state flounders through,

Exhausted with curves of words, ink’s flow construed.

A sweet child, and a scarred adult struggling,

Methodical but scattered, spilling tears troubled.

Poet writer, editing with distaste,

In the Sky muses flow, balloons marking pace.

Creative idealist, survivor with wings,

Intrepid dreamer, with art that thrills, sings.

Facade masks, trembling limbs — nothing left,

Free-spirit, heart-thinker, world spins bereft.

Inexperienced, too much experience,

Judgement quick, while thick walls erected fence.

A fatigue that’s indescribable; it wanes —

A day, then spontaneity — pink blooms raise.

Sheets entrap, day comforts in blissful bed,

Tomorrow I’ll flex limbs, do yogi bends.

Serenity centres, pain released,

Rising — the artist designer concedes;

Inspired empathy, words can’t define,

Freedom in art from pain; sanguine souls climb.

———-

Whiskey In The Jar” sung by Metallica

———

Up the Cork and Kerry Mountains to find,

Captain Farrell, money in vault to hide.

Highway man with pistol and rapier,

Sending him home for the devil to take.

All his money in saddle bags hidden,

To home for the highway man hard ridden.

Said she would love me, never would she leave,

Molly in bed; man there, now dead bleeding.

Still to her chambers, go I, highway man,

Drunk; money to mask and Molly to take.

Captain Farrell riding up, shooting guns,

Aiming both barrels; now in prison flung.

Wish for Molly’s chambers to romp, yet she —

deceived; more, whiskey in the jar-O, please 🥃

“Maybe love isn’t something that comes full circle. It just ebbs and flows, in and out just like the people in our lives” – Colleen Hoover, It Ends With Us

——-

Sometimes we think, it’s easy to manage to–

Balance the flow of our lives, each passage,

Of words and wonders we travel down fast.

Of memories, dreams curling blissfully through.

Of laughter, lovereason to again bloom,

Beyond the memories trapping us, lasting;

Never completely leaving until they pass,

In moments they choose, new whispers approve;

The coming of the dawn, when slumber breaks,

Though we’re scarred and hollow, gloves of lace

Will hide the marks of yesterday; fashion

A hug giving warmth, with new love, sweet dreams.

Yesterday fades, sparks today’s gentle stream

Brings reassurance, your arms hold me dear

Photo Prompt: Poetry – Shakespearean Sonnet – “A Stage”

Thank you to Mind Loves Misery’s Menagerie for this weeks photo prompt:

—–

Unknown

——-

The whole world is our stage, the bard, Shakespeare —

In As You Like It, wrote: we‘re all acting.

Our flaws from our image perceived, not clear.

Perform each day, we say words not exact.

——-

Our fear, our doubt; such lonileness confides,

All our truths to another’s sad eyes,

On rocks we stumble, we cannot stay; reside.

We could beg for help but we act, more lies.

——

Curtains about to part, they hide stage fright,

White billowing clouds, pulled by ropes they show,

Each person performing their role, their life.

Hoping they bloom, become more then this –grow.

——

The world’s a stage, what wisdom to impart,

We’re merely players, to soon to depart.

Poem: Petrarchen (Italian) Sonnet – “Pirate Treasure Lost” #amwriting #poetry #sonnet

Elzabeth Swann : Pirates of The Caribbean – Keira Knightly (en.wikipedia.org)

————

There’s a map, in whose treasures know not I.
No ruby, emeralds, or Dabloons reside.
There’s no treaty by which I’m bound to abide.

Hidden crowns gold, dripping silver so alive.

The pirate in me razes, rum drinking by slides,

Statues of marble from the crypt I hide.

Burying paintings, my beloved Renoir’s,

X Marks the spot where all treasure confides.

——-

But I’ll not tell you it’s value hid deep.

Presence lost in jungle, where spiders creep,

Deadly venom, no cure can fight, to speak.

The map survives, a tattoo inked in sleep,

Adventure awaits, your life to beseech.

Trespassers beware; in quicksand you’ll weep.

NaPoWriMo: Poem – Italian(Petrarchan) Sonnet – “Wanderings While You Drink and Eat”

img_1070-1

And now, our (optional) prompt! Today, I challenge you to write a poem about food. This could be a poem about a particular food, or about your relationship to food in general. Or it could simply be a poem relating an incident that involves food, like David Ignatow’s “The Bagel”. Still not convinced? Perhaps these thirteen food poems will give you some inspiration. Happy writing!

For more information on the prompt please see NaPoWriMo. For more information on the form of an Italian or Petrarchan Sonnet please see this link. Also, I’m completing some of last few days of The Daily Prompt by using the word prompts: Faraway, Street, Precious, and Contrast.

——-

http://www.parisbreakfasts.blogspot.com

——
Faraway, ambling drinking coffee,

Down a mysterious street, you walk laughing.

Directionless, photographing —

Precious memories, chewing on toffee.

Character of contrast, stopping now for latte.

Ambling streets, choreographing,

Dancing; burgeoning day, head feels foggy.

Blending in, eat croissant, drinking frappe.

——

Precious time flying, enjoying frivolity.

In your head, faraway, day calls, “live me.”

Deaf to the calls, adoring causality,

Contrast with the shadows, brilliance you see,

Time spent wasting days, absurdity.

Now’s the day, eat your chocolate cake; be free.

Writing 101 – Seconds – Sonnet – “Bearable”

http://www.metroimago.com

Your breath ticks by each second and I lie

beside you still,

I think of all the time we spent lying here,

And for every prayer that leaves me,

A sweet offering to keep you beside.

—–

Tomorrow we start a new count,

Can I make it through until I can be,

Close, snuggled in your side and hide my face.

On your chest and beneath your chin.

——

I’ll stay here and wait for the morning sun,

I’ll live and breathe the scent of you before,

The day takes you far from my gaze, I sigh.

A moment without you and I find that–

——

I am lost in time, in space and find,

You fill the void in the spaces,

Between my heart and veins, and thinking is —

So hard to do without that time we spend.

——

Mere seconds in memory imprint on me.

The time we share breathing as one being,

Makes the moments without you bearable.

You make our time together meaningful.

—–

You and me without each other were —

Terrible; life is made of our little–

Moments.
