Soft, inhaled scent of babies;

But they’ll grow.

Teeth-bared, razors piercing flesh.

In sleep, the sweet siblings —

Snuggle, tucked beside,

Paws crossed overtop each other’s.

*****

Perhaps, they’re hand holding? Innocence —

Deceives gashing claws;

Ripping, tearing, biting; fierce predators.
