This isn’t real, I cannot feel,

Your lies are fine, don’t make it real.

Your words remind me what you did,

Your words hurt me within.

Keep your lies, no promises,

There’s no more compromises.

You don’t say it outloud, your lips sealed,

Numb inside, I’ll never fully heal.

—–

The music starts, covers silence,

I don’t want to hear your weak defence.

Broken promises shatter,

The shards so sharp scatter.

Didn’t mean the words you said,

I called you out and you fled.

Pretending you don’t hear me hence,

I’m leaving, no reprehending.

Sunday Photo Fiction: Poem – Free Verse – “Not Forgotten”

——

What was it? I see, furniture in the woods left to decay.

Glass broken, shards glinting everywhere, in sunlight’s rays.

Solid wood bones, but could it be repaired? Made new and functional?

Into what? You might ask,  and I’m not sure what rationally,

I don’t know it’s purpose, I don’t know how to transform its ruin.

But I like to give old things new uses, to repair the broken form strewn.

Natures taking over swallowing back her glass sand and wood from trees.

Only a concrete slab shall remain, when nature takes what’s presently seen.

Feelings of sorrow haunt, capturing brokenness, into forest bearing.

I have my reasons, not wanting to leave useful items in disrepair.

It’s more to do with people, how the broken are left behind, not cared for.

People forgetting, friends, family, the elderly, the disabled, more.

Thoughtfulness non-existent, but I seek to repair, leave no one forgotten.

Even the meekest soul, deserves conversation, to be noticed, never left to ‘storage.’

Every stage and page in life, forget no soul, don’t let them slip through your writing hands.

Let every person have a purpose, great or small; let them have their dreams expand.

Poem:  Free Verse – “The Sacrifice”

Thanks to The Daily Post for the prompt words Sacrifice, Shadow, and Beach.

There is such a thing as a sacrifice,

Suffeting for someone else,

Or something else.

I’m not sure if sacrifice,

Is worth the pain,

Worth the price paid.

But it’s often, not my choice.

Sacrifice is required,

For those stuck in shadow,

Of every day hardship.

We must offer up ourselves,

And heed the call,

We can’t let the shadows win.

For there will be a time when to sacrifice,

Is worth the cost.

Grains of sand filling up an hourglass,

Counting grain by grain,

For a jubilant day,

When the price will have been paid.

The hourglass explodes,

The sands of time flow everywhere.

Shards of broken glass,

Jabbing those who wonder to its beach,

Only in barefeet.

Never wearing shoes,

Not realizing the price paid.

The sacrifice the shadow takes,

To make time stand still.

Poem: NaPoWriMo 2016 – Lune – ” Leaving ”

Prompt:

Today, I challenge you to write a lune. This is a sort of English-language haiku. While the haiku is a three-line poem with a 5-7-5 syllable count, the lune is a three-line poem with a 5-3-5 syllable count. There’s also a variant based on word-count, instead of syllable count, where the poem still has three lines, but the first line has five words, the second line has three words, and the third line has five words again. Either kind will do, and you can write a one-lune poem, or write a poem consisting of multiple stanzas of lunes. Happy writing!

Peering your way advertent obscure,

Days have passed,

Shards of glass inside me.

——-

Why is sorrow so meaningless.

Make it better,

Hear me out; you refuse.

——-

Coupledome requires us both to,

Tell the truth,

Communication is key; so listen.

——-

Capricious games are not me,

I’m not playing,

Whatever joke you’re about today.

——-

Be serious, moments are fading,

I’m still waiting,

How many nights spent crying?

——-

Brokenness, requires feeling I think,

To care enough,

Feeling gutted and raw inside.

——

Thought we were supposed to,

Make our lives,

Lasting moments for each other.

——

Carelessness, you have no soul,

Once you loved,

Love has grown thin, cold.

—–

In Purgatory, if you believe,

What Catholics teach,

Frightening fire, burning soot reeks.

—–

Fire enthrals passion, makes heat.

But you’re ice,

Was there ever crackling flames?

—-

Again, convinced myself you were,

Healthy for me,

Should’ve kept searching and hoping.

—–

Now, I’m raw, inside out.

Sobbing mess living.

Making or breaking; I’m leaving.

—–

You don’t hear me leave,

It’s fine because —

You never saw me anyways.
