Today’s prompt song is one of my most favourite songs, “Yellow” by Coldplay.

So perfect, stars in the sky they reflect,

Why God formed you, made you so perfect.
Shining for you such beacons genuflect,
The rightness so moulded, creation construed —

Your skin and bones, beautiful and true.

Such dust and ash, made good, in all respects.

—–

Graciousness —He bled for our disrespect,

Made you to be loved, adored though imperfect.

That’s why this man looks, catching your eyes true.

So perfect, stars in the sky they reflect.

——

Why he takes time, drinking you in –perfect,

Wonders how you’re created with such affect.

Made so he sees you and becomes unglued,

Knows his world is changing, each day proves —

Love of you, his girl, how you both connect.

So perfect, stars in the sky reflect.

Poem: ” Your Wrinkles Make you Beautiful.”

There is beauty in the wrinkles on your face.

A deep timely beauty, that took experience to make.

You are more than classic, you are infinitely lovely and gorgeouse.

No twenty-two year old in all her youthful vigor is so pretty, that she can have more knowledge then your reflective eyes.

Or more inspiration then your smiles give; and more thoughts going through her mind, of a life both hard and incredible.

Your beauty is eternal, a flame that won’t die out.

You shall carry it to heaven with you because you loved a child in a manger and your faith made your life well.

You are more exotic and enchanting then any women in the land, you are the light of home to many.

When your presence fades there shall be a void felt by all those who loved your gorgeousness, a beauty which was internal and spread to your warm skin.

A beauty that inhabits everyone of your loved ones and friends.

You are simply marvellous, a dame that no one can compare too.

You had husbands and boyfriends, partners with which you shared your life and your beauty with delight.

You out-lived them all with your smile and a bounce in your step.

Your wrinkles are truly beautiful because they tell your story.

A story growing up on a farm, a story of loss, a house in the city, a story of love and fond memories.

And through it all shone your pretty face. Those bright eyes and your laughing mouth. Your wonderful hugs and good wishes.

You had many roles throughout your life.

Beauty lies in everything those roles made you, you were unstoppable. In your stylish shoes and upbeat attitude.

You are lovely, and will always be to me a Grandma, Great Godmother, and friend; such wisdom you hold.

Your wisdom you cooked into pies, soups, trifles, lasagna; your hospitality made you beautiful.

You are the rarest rose in the garden. Loved by so many and so many you met.

This is why I say your wrinkles make you beautiful for you are incredible, a gem in a pile of fakes.

A fantastic women and every year as you age your beauty is so much deeper.

Your wrinkles make you beautiful, let no one say otherwise — for one day I want wrinkles too, for I wish to be beautiful.

Writing 101 – Reflection – “Mirrors”

Your eyes are a reflection of your soul it is said; but if you’ve seen pitch black-brown eyes, you know they can be the kindest gentle eyes.

People used to be afraid of their reflection — much like our pets. The authorities thought using mirrors was vanity as the Puritans had no mirrors.  But I can think of many instances having a mirror would be handy.

It was thought that your left hand was evil, especially if you were left handed. Because the right hand mirrors the left, the left was to be watched.

People used to look at themselves in surfaces that shone and reflected a person’s image back. Glass has not been around so long so we used metals that when shiney gave a reflection.

When mirrors came about, they were put in every place you could think of. On the table, the wall, and on the ceiling. Where can you escape your reflection when it is always mirrored.

And when you do sit down and think, for some self – reflection, does your self reflect your heart or soul? Are you living the life you want to?

And with “selfies” and mirrored surfaces at every place we go. Does our appearance always measure up? Did we leave lipstick on our teeth? Or cut our face during shaving?

I think there’s a bit too much reflective surfaces if I may say so myself. I think we are a bit vain as we look at ourselves in every mirrored surface we can. Perhaps, if we reflected more on the inside our bodies would reflect something greater — something kind.
