——-

Such blackness here, wild fears,

Cannot be helped;

Once I paused, and saw —

——-

His Raven eyes spellbinding me.

Tapping the window,

Glass shattering, I’m breathless

——-

Bedroom door locked, all asleep —

But for I,

Raven kaws, advances towards me.

—–

I’m prey, what he desires,

Shapeshifting bird becomes —

Enchanting man, tapping tappered fingers.

—–

“Stop playing games and come away,”

But in my —

Dreams of week’s before I —

——

Dreamt the Raven ripped out —

My throat raw;

I became his dark companion.

—–

Life was grand but I —

Lost myself,

In him; was loved but —

——

Destined for a fate I —

Scarce imagined with —

No place of my own.

—-

When his world became too —

Much, I required —

Thinking space, some breathing room.

——-

So when the Raven man,

Of my dreams,

Arrived — I knew him well.

—-

And while he stared with —

Fascination at my,

Coffee eyes purple-bruised, I —

——

Begged, if he was going —

To love me;

I required a quiet space.

—–

I couldn’t be his mistress,

His everything without —

“A room of [my] own.” *

—–

Without, I couldn’t function well,

And soar with –

Him at night; unless he —

——-

Promised to stay outside my —

Head, my. mind,

And leave my thoughts alone.

——-

We both needed some privacy.

So with shiny,

Wings bold we together flew.

——

Before our flight, he gifted —

Mint-sapphire ring,

Binding us both in our —

—–

Promises — me that I had,

Quiet space; he —

That I was his companion;

——-

His forever mate; loved well —

Our life together,

Shapeshifters seek dawn — Ravens night.

Tale Weavers: Fiction – A Bit of PDA #amwriting #fiction #taleweavers

Thanks to MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie for hosting last week’s Tale Weaver prompt which is a story about why touch is important.

I didn’t understand it, we’d been dating a year and Raph never touched me in public. He didn’t mind when I rubbed his back in the mall or if I made the effort to lace my fingers through his. When I first pecked him on the cheek in public he blushed bright red.

I asked him one day why he didn’t touch me in public. In private he couldn’t keep his hands off me. He didn’t mind cuddling at home and he often tangled his hand in my hair or massaged the back of my neck while we watched TV. I adored these touches but didn’t understand why he was afraid to initiate small bits of PDA.

I explained to Raph how it was important to me because it made me feel like I was his, that he loved me, and didn’t care what anyone else thought of us. He was angry at first and confused, but the next day as we grocery shopped he linked his pinky through mine while we waited to pay.

Two days later he casually put his arm around my shoulders at his friend’s house. I snuggled into him kissing him when his buddy went to grab more beer. I linked my pinky with his and smiling, Raph returned the kiss as his friend walked into the living room. I was thrilled Raph understood how much these small touches meant to me.

——–

                    .                                              In shadows we dwell,

Moonlit private hell.

We disappear into edges,

Into the places dark,

Our lives are no lark.

We’re left standing, our bets hedged.

The darkness is cold,

We draw warmth, we fold.

Ourselves neatly into corners,

Existing in pitch black,

Our dimness won’t crack.

Light cannot break in, you’re warned.

Our hearts are blackest,

Survival is our knack.

Glass city, shimmers, breaks apart,

We’re a stronger ilk,

Sliding through night, silk.

As the world sets afire hearts.

Right and wrong confused,

Caught in self-abuse.

Night beckons us to creep, to find,

Paths leading out as,

It all goes up, has —

Been singed, burned, no mere kindness.

We survive the dark,

We survive the mark.

When it all goes up in flames,

We’re last to remain,

We’re last, but insane.

Learning a sadistic game.
