Winter 2016/2017 Beauty Haul: Part One

Good Afternoon everyone. I’m back with some of my favourite beauty products I’ve tried since my Fall Beauty Haul. I hope you like the products and find some you can incorporate into your own beauty routine.

winter-brovwo-condintinong-primer-by-benefit
Benefit Cosmetics: Browvo Conditioning Primer (www.sephora.ca) – $36.00 CAN

1.Benefit Cosmetics: Browvo! Conditioning Primer – Nutrient Rich Primer for Fuller-Looking Brows –  (1.0 mL) – http://www.sephora.ca – $36.00 CAN

This wasn’t a product I went out and bought, but I received the full-sized product with a coupon code from Sephora. Its a product part of Benefit’s recently revamped brow line since brows have become a big deal these past two-years where makeup is concerned.

I haven’t used this product long, only a week, but I wanted to include it in the Beauty Haul. So far I enjoy the product and it makes my brows feel soft. You don’t have to wear other brow products on top of it. If you want, you can wear Browvo alone. Basically, Browvo’s a pen and you squeeze some of the conditioning product out. There is a soft rubber comb you can use to brush it on your eyebrows.

The biggest feature I think of this is product, is that it is conditioning so if you have sparse brows, this makes them appear “fuller, thicker, and healthier.” Browvo is a “nutrient rich” conditioning formula with “keratin” and “soy proteins.” These ingredients are known to help brows appear fuller.

For women who have either over-plucked their own brows or gone to places to have their brows waxed and had them waxed and shaped too thin for a long time, Browvo is fantastic product for you to try out. Also if you find the pencil or gel you are filling in your brows with doesn’t last, Browvo is a brow primer and will aid you in keeping your brow makeup in place.

My brows have always been on the fuller side so even though my brows feel nice when I put Browvo on, it’s not a product I would purchase because I don’t think its a product marketed to me but to women who have sparser brows. If I needed primer on my brows I would use my usual face primer which is POREfessional primer from Benefit.

2. Benefit Cosmetics: ka-Brow- Cream Gel Eyebrow Colour with Brush (1.0 g) -www.sephora.ca – $30.00 CAN

winter-benefit-ka-brow
Benefit Cosmetics: ka-Brow Cream Gel Brown Colour with Brush -www.spehora.ca – $30.00 CAN

On a different makeup order, I received a full-sized sample of Benefit’s of ka-Brow. I’ve been using it a few weeks and its a great product actually. Ka-Brow is a cream gel product you use to fill in your eyebrows, instead of a pencil or other brow products. I’ve never used a gel product on my eyebrows, so I was eager to try  ka-Brow out.

The lid comes of this product and you pull off the brush as well, to dip it into the brow gel container which is on the bottom of the product as you can see. It can be difficult to tell at first, how much of the gel you need to use to fill in your eyebrows. I found a little ka-Brow goes a long way. The brush is tiny and it’s easy to fill in your brow more naturally, with tiny strokes. Or to make your brows look more defined by using thicker swipes of ka-Brow on your eye brows.

The product promises to “fill,” “sculpt,” and “define brows.” You can build it from a “natural” look to a more “dramatic” one quite easily with ka-Brow as I mentioned. Ka-brow is also Waterproof and lasts 24 Hours.

I had never considered using a gel product such as ka-Brow to fill in my brows.I am quite happy to use a brow pencil which is soft but not too soft. I find  despite using ka- Brow, I require Benefit’s blond brow gel over top to set the product.

I’m undecided about using ka-Brow over a pencil such as an Anastasia Brow Pencil I’d been using before trying this product. Ka-Brow can accidentally be put on quite too thick and I don’t know how long it lasts compared to a brow pencil. A good brow pencil such as one from Anastasia, lasts me three-months. So I’ll see if this product lasts another couple of months.

There is nothing wrong with ka-Brow. It works well, and I chose the shade o1 Platinum for blonds and the colour is perfect; however, it’s up to you what products you prefer to use on your eyebrows and how much you can afford to spend on a brow product for how long it lasts.  I haven’t decided if I like this product enough to buy it again.

winter-loreal-voluminous-butterfly-intenza-wp
L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly INTENZA Waterproof Mascara -(www.ulta.com) – $8.99 US or at Shoppers Drug Mart $8.99 CAN on Sale.

3. L’Oreal Butterfly INTENZA Waterproof Mascara – Blackest Black 381 – (2.0 mL) – http://www.ulta.com – $8.99 US ( Also bought at Shopper’s Drug Mart for $8.99 CAN)

I admit, I’m a mascara junky. Out of all the products I use, mascara is the one I change the most often. My last one from Make Up Forever, I ended up loving in the end, except that the brush which covered every tiny lash, made mascara go all over my eye area and the mascara didn’t appear to have such a volumizing effect as I was hoping for. So for over top, I bought this L’Oreal mascara from Shoppers Drug Mart and it worked extremely well to use over top the Make Up Forever Mascara and fill out my eyelashes.

I find myself consistently going back to L’Oreal mascaras because they reliably, time and again, have well priced mascaras which do the same job as most mascaras in the $30.oo to $40.00 range.

For L’Oreal you are only paying around $10 CAN for their mascara. It’s a shame when you buy an expensive mascara and hate it. But if you don’t like a cheaper mascara it isn’t such a big deal if it doesn’t work out. The only difference I can say between say L’Oreal mascaras and expensive mascaras such as Dior, is that mascaras such as Dior, have fantastic black or brown colour pigment.

However, I do tend to receive many beauty samples, especially in mascara. I will try out a new mascaras a sample from a more expensive brand, and put the L’Oreal over top to set a non-waterproof mascara (because it runs under my eyes) and to add a little extra volume if needed. I completely recommend this L’Oreal mascara and many  other kinds of L’Oreal mascara,  as long as the mascara is waterproolipf.

winter-make-up-forever-artist-plexi-gloss
Make Up Forever: Artist Plexi-Gloss in 209 Fuchsia – Pink -www.sephora.ca – $24.00 CAN

4. Make Up Forever: Artist Plexi Gloss – 209 Fuschsia Pink (Opaque) – (7 mL) – http://www.sephora.ca – $24.00 CAN

Lately, I find myself becoming more interested in lip products. For most of my twenties, lip gloss or lipstick in a light pink was fine for going out or during the  day. Now I find I enjoy wearing a bit of colour on my lips because you can wear a bold lip and wear hardly any other makeup than a bit of mascara, eyeliner, and concealer.

Usually, I like to wear makeup but every once and a while, if I’m just running quick errands and than going home, I don’t feel like putting all the effort into doing my full makeup routine. My pet peeve about lipsticks and glosses is in a way, the same way  I feel about mascaras: I hate when I buy a more expensive lipstick or gloss and it comes off right away, the first time you have a glass of water. Also, I hate that many lip glosses can be sticky.

This is not the case with Make Up Forever’s Artist Plexi-Gloss. It’s super amazing stuff and you can buy it many colours in a high shine finish or in a shimmer finish. The colour I bought was a Fuchsia Pink and it’s amazing. I’m not huge on bright red lipstick as you know, but this is my trade off. I love wearing this bright shade some days, and it stays on incredibly well through drinking, eating, and whatever else you’re doing. I’m so pleased by how long the colour lasts.

Besides the brilliant colours this Artist Plexi-Gloss has an artist designed foam applicator (a”superflex” tip) which is amazing for applying the gloss and having “precision and control,” while doing it. As well, I enjoy that the Plexi-Gloss is shiny but not super shiny such as many sticky lip glosses or moisturizing lipsticks. Plexi-Gloss is more akin to lipstick with shine, the colour is so intense. I highly recommend this lip product; it is most certainly worth the $24.00 CAN.

winter-laneige-multiberry-yogurt-repairing-mask
Laneige: Multiberry Yogurt Repairing Mask – For All Skin – http://www.sephora.ca – $33.00 CAN

5. LANEIGE: Multiberry Yogurt Repairing Mask(2.7 Oz) – http://www.sephora.ca – $33.00 CAN

I’ve hardly ever had a problem with dry skin in my entire life. My problem has always been oily skin. Being a couple of years into my thirties, I find my skin is changing a bit. It  has become more dry. The chilly -25 degrees Celsius weather we are experiencing in Alberta, Canada isn’t helping my dry skin either.

Having had troubles with many skin products in the past, I’m always hesitant about different face masks and other brands of skincare. But I’ve been so pleased with a newer brand to Sephora called Laneige. I’ve tried a couple small one or two day samples of their  products. But also with my Sephora points, bought a large sample of Laneige’s Multiberry Yogurt Repairing Mask.

It smells wonderful, a bit as yogurt of course, but also as strawberries. The sample I received which was (0.6 fl.oz), lasted two-months and I’ve been used this moisturizing mask every two-days as directed. This Yogurt Repairing Mask is put it on after using your toner. You leave the mask on for five to ten minutes and then gently rinse it off your face with lukewarm water. After you can apply any other creams or your moisturizers you use to your face.

I wake the next morning after using this Yogurt Repairing Mask and my skin feels soft and hydrated. It’s not dry as my skin has often been feeling lately. I did go and purchase this from Sephora, it was highly worth it.

Laneige’s Multiberry Yogurt Repairing Mask delivers “nutrition” and “antioxidants” deep into skin. It is formulated to “remove dead skin” from the surface of your face. Its unique “fermented yogurt” formula provides “anti-irritation” benefits to the skin. Not to mention, I’ve never once broken out after using this mask the next day or any days after. I’m excited to maybe try other products from Laneige’s skin care line. I most definitively recommend this mask and I think for how long the product lasts, the price is reasonable.

Please stay tuned for Part Two of my Winter 2016/2017 Beauty Haul!

Photo (Collage) Challenge: Poem – LaJemme – “Live Now”

Thanks to MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie for hosting this week’s collage prompt. To quote the quote provided: ” Find what you love and let it kill you.” – Charles Bukowski

Credit: MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie

“Find what you love and let it kill you,” love?

Not convinced of such advice; I feel through

Strife for all you who love, learning thereof,

You’re drained, weighing yourself down, you pained fool.

See love already makes you pay?

Don’t panic dreading, nor cling fast.

Life goes by fast, have you read?

Knowledge balance — passion and sass.

For unreal love, don’t die gallant.

You cannot last, with such false love.

Nothingness, lover’s grave now grass.

People alter their love, cast out love.

I’m not thinking of dying slow, faltering.

Enjoy laughing, for life’s done in a wink.

Wish not to sink in grave, for fresh air gasping.

Not leaving fast; learning never to blink.

You don’t know you; it changes, what you in life love.

Passion a glove, fits at the time, ends though —

You’ve no slight clue, once you’re dead — you’re above.

Live now, death costly price for draining you.

Poem:  Free Verse – “The Sacrifice”

Thanks to The Daily Post for the prompt words Sacrifice, Shadow, and Beach.

——

http://www.souloftruth.com

——

There is such a thing as a sacrifice,

Suffeting for someone else,

Or something else.

I’m not sure if sacrifice,

Is worth the pain,

Worth the price paid.

But it’s often, not my choice.

Sacrifice is required,

For those stuck in shadow,

Of every day hardship.

We must offer up ourselves,

And heed the call,

We can’t let the shadows win.

For there will be a time when to sacrifice,

Is worth the cost.

Grains of sand filling up an hourglass,

Counting grain by grain,

For a jubilant day,

When the price will have been paid.

The hourglass explodes,

The sands of time flow everywhere.

Shards of broken glass,

Jabbing those who wonder to its beach,

Only in barefeet.

Never wearing shoes,

Not realizing the price paid.

The sacrifice the shadow takes,

To make time stand still.

Poem: Wrapped Refrain – “Vacation At Home”

Thanks to The Daily Post for the word prompt price.

——

http://www.howstuffworks.com

——

Buying groceries we often sigh,

Over price paid for our food –cry

Economy not in the right place yet,

Paid eight bucks, cauliflower? Regret.

Have to eat, we purchase food that is good for us,

Fruits, veggies, crisp and delicious, at a high price plus —

—–

The dollar is low, the US dollar,

Is overvalued, we holler.

But can’t do much, but vacation,

In Canada, our home, elation,

Rocky Mountains, hiking trails, walking,

On a sandy beach, into water, both talking,

—–

Family or friends with us, happiness,

Summer is on it’s way, sunniness,

Thinking about Montreal,

French culture, Quebec City feel,

Home is the best place to take a vacation in,

Golfing in BC, music festivities, diving in,

——

The price we pay to visit the states,

Stretches budgets here, so wait,

We won’t be visiting Vegas,

Engrossed in what, Canada has,

Hundreds of years-old culture, freedom, pristine,

Unique, brilliant, festivity; home, nature gleams.

——

Not ashamed, not to pay the price,

Worlds experienced at lower price,

I’ve sunsets to wander at, to love,

I’ve people to see whom I also love,

The world in our own back yard awaits, our history,

Buying groceries, shopping, the unknown; much mystery.

Flash Fiction for The Aspiring Writer: A Place to Sleep

“This is frustrating, Marcus.” Trisha complained.”Every morning at 6:00 am, the workmen start hammering and climbing up the scaffolding. Lulu and I just fall asleep, after her needing to eat all night, then the workmen arrive and make noise. I haven’t slept more than two-hours in a row for three-months.”

Marcus frowned, he wanted to help Trisha and Lulu. He could see how tired and run down Trisha was. Marcus went for a drive so he could think. He found himself driving through a neighbourhood with unique older houses.

To Marcus’s surprise, one of the houses had a ‘For Sale,’ sign. When Marcus walked into the house, he knew the house was perfect for his family. The house was updated five-years ago and the price was feasible. Trisha needed to see this house.

That evening Trisha stood in the great room of the house Marcus had found them. She turned around and sighed, “It’s quiet.”

“So, we can buy the house?” Marcus asked.

Trisha laughed sleepily, “Yes.”

Flash Fiction for The Purposeful Practitioner: The Price

When I removed the contents from my tote-bag, I was perturbed to see a tattered book inside.“I could see the corner of folded yellow parchment sticking out of the torn lining of the battered book.”

“What’s this?” I whispered. Instantly, I heard chanting. In my mind I pictured two woman murmering magic with candles in a circle around them. It was as if the image had been placed in my mind.

Suddenly, the parchment opened in front of me. Oddly, the symbols on the parchment made sense to me. The parchment was a spell for immortality. I had no time to think, the words of the incantation flew from my lips:

Live forever, consequences well known,

Speak the words, let your time now cease flow,

Your string never snipped, fate overlooked you,

Alone, you will wander, the cost is many souls.

When I stopped chanting, the parchment and the book had disappeared. My boyfriend stomped in the front door. Before I gave him a hello kiss, he said: ” Something about you is different.” Then I kissed him hungrily and he disintegrated in my hands. I burst into tears and I learned the price of eternal life — my kiss was the kiss of death.

Writing 101 – Freedom – “Sacrifice”

Many people would react viciously if you told them they weren’t free. It’s a fundamental of democracy that every man and woman of every human race, justly has a right to liberty.

We take it for granted and we do not think, what it would be like to be locked up — to be bound with chains of tyranny, literal or figuratively; freedom is never free.

But freedom is a difficult ideal. People in society should be able to decide on their actions and make their own choices.

And  people should decide who should govern them, what laws and rules limit people from ruining another’s human rights (liberties).

When you say “freedom,” people actually think it is free; they stop and forget that people fought and died in wars so we could enjoy the right to liberty today. People long for freedom in places under lock and key.

We forget that freedom isn’t about only  our own freedom but the liberty of our neighbours and community members too.

We forget that since we are free to educate ourselves , and be educated, we should strive to be knowledgable; we should make informed choices.

For example, a liberty to bear arms — guns — is secondary to how available you make them and for whom. If you truly want to have a gun to defend your house, then you will jump through hoops so your rights do not infringe on other people’s rights to live.

You will follow all the steps the law says you need to do to have a gun even though they are aggravating, because you want your children safe at school and you want your friends and family safe at work, or at a shopping mall.

In the subject of freedom we are negligent (because we have had it so long without are world falling to chaos) because it is only free if you limit it.

You must say you are free to do ‘this’ but not ‘that’ because you are infringing on the freedom of other people.

For this reason, where I live: we eliminated smoking in bars and public places. Because people have a right to breath clean air and not be subjected to second hand smoke which can cause cancer.

If you smoke you are free to do so but not if it is going to affect my liberty to breathe, too not be allergic to the air.

You can do it in certain areas where there are places to put out your cigarettes, or in your own home if your certain you must.

And you can wear a head set while driving a vehicle, instead of driving one-handed. You can tell your phone ” Siri, text Allison and tell her I’m going for a beer after work, ” instead of removing your eyes from the road and using your fingers to text.

And now we are losing demerits for distracted driving. No putting on mascara or lipstick while you are driving. No looking for something you can’t find or eating a burger either. It’s harsh, but people are dying.

You are infringing on people’s saftey when you drive distractedly. You think you are free to drive how you like, but an old lady thinks she is free and safe to walk across the road while you search your phone, your  eyes not on the road.

Not every one follows law and order, the price of freedom, of our liberty. It’s the purpose of jail. Why we spend so much on prisons, why in some countries people are sentenced to die; are we truly free to say someone’s life should be forfeit?

People change. That doesn’t make up for the pain of the victims or their families or the crime. But the fact that people can educate themselves, find God, show remorse, and better themselves makes me think it is better to let God decide who lives and dies.

He is after all the ultimate judge and executioner. The freedom to give and take life as you please, that scares me. It is something that happens in places with no freedom. In places where people are suffering and dying needlessly.

And because people don’t follow laws here, they act to protect their freedom and they sue each other, and do awful and thoughtless things.

And some companies can be pretty corporate at the bottom line when it comes to thinking of the individual employee’s liberties.

What freedom, do the mentally ill have? When the common person knows so little about mental illness, to help them. When people don’t understand them or make an effort to. What about freedom of acceptance?

What about freedom of speech? Does it change your view of the person talking normally if you know he is bipolar? Or if he does is job year after year but has a bit of break down. Or if he is an alcoholic or a crime victim.

And what of the freedom to live, we can take this two ways. Should you have the freedom to healthcare you can’t afford? Isn’t a human life worth it? What if your health plan doesn’t cover a new medical procedure?

But Doctors need to be paid and new ones trained. There are nurses and interns and the people from the lab. What about their right to make a living? Does it out – weigh your right to live? Haven’t we decided that we shouldn’t be choosing who lives and who dies?

But it changes up a little when you are dying and nothing can save you. When you are in horrific pain because of a physical disease. Think of ALS and Tuesday’s with Morrie or cancer in your bones or in your blood.

Miracles can happen. But if you are the one choosing and it is your life, shouldn’t you have access to drugs, or some humane way to die. To not leave this life so torn apart that everyday is an agony and pain is a mantra.

I don’t know what I’d do but I think I might like to go out with a little of me left in me. I don’t want to be a person with no freedom because she is forced to live and suffer. A person who had no freedom because disease stole it from her.

I think the concept of freedom is quite deceptive. Initially, it appears harmless but when you dig deeper you see that it has teeth, a tale, and Jurassic World T-Rex hybrid eyes and teeth.

Liberty, is a hugely complex subject. It seems so simple when we’re only dying for it. But to uphold a society of freedom, means not everbody is completely free. There is give and take.

And I found that as I write, I keep becoming caught up in liberty of life. In society and their reactions in time near death, for abortions, in prisons, as you go about your day — who decides who lives and dies.

That is a freedom I think humans shouldn’t have. But we make the decisions anyways, because we have free will; sometimes, I don’t like liberty at all.

At times it’s easier to have “someone”make the decision. But that is how dictatorships start, when we stop deciding.

Here we are, the biggest problem with freedom — we must choose what freedom is, and what we will give up to be free.

Writing 101: Day 12 – Being Thankful and Shopping Sales.

Prompt: Critique something.
I know that Black Friday is coming. Last year I avoided it, most of my Christmas shopping was done by that point. But from online shopping emails,  I noticed how great the deals were from both Canadian and American stores. I remember going to Banana Republic Canada’s website and seeing all clothes were 50% off. That hardly ever happens at Banana Republic! The best price you can get is 40 % off and that’s not often. In fact, it was odd to me that Canadian websites and stores were giving deals that were so good on Black Friday and they were better then the Canadian equivalent, Boxing Day deals. I like to shop, that’s not a lie. But I also have this part of conscience that is telling me that whether we are shopping crazily on Black Friday Week or Boxing Week, we are missing the point of the holidays these shopping marathons are based around.

The largest difference between Canadian and US Thanksgiving is when we hold our festivities. Canadians celebrate the second Monday in October and Americans the third weekend in November. But I know for both nations, it is a time for us to be thankful for all God has provided us with in our lives. For the plenty we have in our wants and needs. We remember so many do not have ‘plenty’ in other places in the world. We give thanks to be alive and for the relative peace we find living in our countries, especially when places so close to our hearts such as Paris, are attacked by terrorists. We eat large meals and see our family, whom we may not see all year. But to be specific, Wikipedia tells me, the first thanksgiving was celebrated in the US after the pilgrims first harvest in the New World in 1621. The feast lasted three days and in attendance were fifty three pilgrims and ninety Native Americans. In Canada, we simply celebrate the harvest and other blessings of the past year during our Thanksgiving celebration. But I wonder how such a time of thankfulness has become a shopping race, to find the best deals. To think of all we ‘want,’ instead of all we have.

Every Black Friday or Cyber Monday we see Americans literally fighting over electronics and grabbing items from each other as if they were toddlers. People are pushy, loud, and not nice to each other. They think that if they act how they act, they’ll get all the items they want. It is all about “me” and “I” or “my family.” I have to say it is worse on Black Friday in the US, worse then it ever gets in Canada even though Black Friday is gaining force here. But I’m not sure deals will be as great this year with the fall of the Canadian dollar from near parity.

What ever happened to being a decent person, sharing, and being thankful for what you have? You may get a great deal but at what immoral price? What are you teaching the younger generations when you gorge on food, say that everyone should be thankful, then push and shove in Victoria Secret over a bra, of which you have ten or more? Or, was it worth it to battle through bodies and buy a TV at a hundred dollars saving?

I know some of you Black Friday shoppers are kind. And that every person just wants nice things for their families or theirselves at a good price. Maybe you can only afford certain items on sale, so these shopping days are important. Things are pretty tame in Canada but there is always the exception. And it’s just my point of view, but I wonder how being thankful and all this merchandising, advertising, and worked up shoppers fit together.

In Canada, we celebrate Boxing Day after Christmas. It’s origins lie in people boxing up their leftover food from Christmas meals for the poor. But instead, we shop with our gift cards and Christmas money for more of what we have, for stuff, instead of celebrating family and Jesus’ birth; instead of celebrating people being together. I just find it a bit difficult, putting Christmas and shopping hauls together. I still shop and I still celebrate with my family. But I try to remember that when I’m out buying merchandise there is a way to treat other shoppers with respect, not like they’re the competition. I remember that buying stuff is fun but only temporary. “You can’t take it with you when you go,” as the saying goes.Whether you can buy a lot of things or hardly afford any, in death we leave all our junk behind.  We need to remember that there  are people who can’t afford are grand celebrations at Thanksgivings and Christmas. We need to give money and our time to those in need. To give presents to kids whose parents can’t afford, or food to the family who can only go to the food bank.

I think if we were more thankful we could see how it is for some people to have so little, while we have a lot. For some people a tiny gift or a helping hand is worth so much. Little things like God, family, good friends, and health should matter the most. Without them all the ‘things’ in the world are worthless. So, be happy if that is what you have and if your basic needs are met. Happy Thanksgiving Americans and start of the holiday season for many of us. May you be thankful and gentle when you shop and generous with your time and donations to those less fortunate. May you cherish the life you have because you’re a priceless person to many people you know and loved very much.

Beauty Products: Bobbi Brown Foundation/NARS Concealer/Living Proof Shampoo and Conditioner

www.sephora.ca Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15
http://www.sephora.ca
Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15

1. Bobbie Brown Skin Foundation SPF 15 – $55.00 – Sephora – Bobbie Brown Skin Foundation is one of the best foundations I have tried in a long time. I wanted a foundation that looked like my skin but still covered blemishes or redness. It is exactly this that Bobbi Brown promises: ” [a] truly modern foundation that offers invisible, weightless coverage that looks like skin, not makeup.” There are 20 different shades of this foundation to choose as well. This is great for me because I am often lighter than the lightest foundation colour many foundation lines have. So, with Bobbi brown I was able to choose their lightest colour 00 Alabaster. Moreover, Bobbi Brown Skin Foundation is a ” long-wearing formula [that] evens [skin] tone, minimizes the appearance of pores, conceals imperfections, and offers broad-spectrum UV protection. Its hydrating technology leaves skin feeling cushioned, comfortable, and clean.” It also leaves offers a light-medium coverage and is ideal for all skin types. I absolutely love this foundation and will continue to use it as my everyday foundation of choice. The only bad thing I can say about this foundation is that it is a runny. But a quarter size amount will cover your skin and hide any imperfections despite how light and runny the foundation is.

2. NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer – Sephora – $35,00 – I was looking for a concealer

www.sephora.ca NARS Creamy Concealer
http://www.sephora.ca
NARS Creamy Concealer

similar to Lancome’s creamy concealer but not as prone to cause oily skin.  NARS creamy concealer is a bit cheaper and it works just as effectively to cover blemishes, highlight skin, and cover under eye circles. It also comes in 10 different shades including a really fair ivory colour for me which is even lighter than my foundation. Sephora describes it as a” [a] creamy concealer with hydrating, multiaction skincare benefits and light diffusing technology to create a softer, smoother complexion.” It is also hydrating and luxuriously smooth, it layers lightly for buildable medium-to-full coverage and a natural luminous finish. The multiactive botanical blend hydrates, firms, reduces redness, and strengthens the skin by helping its barrier retain vital moisture. It also ” delivers antioxidant protection to protect the skin against damaging free radicals.

Skin becomes visibly smooth, soft, and more even-toned. Mineral tone balancing powder works to optically correct, not mask, imperfections to keep skin looking flawless. A single stroke of Radiant Creamy Concealer keeps the complexion looking fresh and creaseless. It goes on smoothly, blends easily, and stays in place all day. Comfortable and hydrated, skin glows with new radiance over or under foundation and looks beautiful—even when bare”  Additionally, NARS Creamy Concealer is free of Parabens, Pthalates, and Sulfates. I am definitely ordering this foundation again as it is less greasy than the Lancomes one and the colors are perfect my skin tone. Not to mention it helps to save a few dollars on a product such as concealer.

Living Proof Shampoo and Conditioner

3. Living Proof Perfect Hair Day Shampoo and Conditioner – Sephora – 8 0z. $30.00 each – When I first saw these products the number one thing that disappointed me about them was their size. For $30.00 I think you should be receiving a decent sized shampoo and conditioner but these were quite small and I imagine they will only last me until the end of the month. That being said, they are awesome shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo cleans very well and leaves your hair feeling so soft and the conditioner is very smoothing and conditioning and my hair feels soft and moisturized after I use it. My hair is not fly away and it does not take that much of each of the shampoo or conditioner to use in your hair each time. If it weren’t for the price per quantity I would buy this shampoo and conditioner all the time. And it does actually improve your hair over time as the bottle states. Sephora says that this shampoo and conditioner is ” [f]ormulated for all hair types, this product is oil- and silicone-free. PHD Shampoo and Conditioner provide superior detangling to traditional shampoos and conditioners. PHD Shampoo, Conditioner, and Styling Treatment regimen reduces breakage by 78 percent, making hair four and a half times stronger. This product is an Allure Best of Beauty winner.” So, it’s up to you on whether you would spend the money on this Shampoo and Conditioner or not.
