(“Not Broken” – Sarah Ross – no lyrics of video available but bases for the poem).

——–

You hit me with iron fists, no time to pause;

You hit me hard, but I’ve wicked claws.

Keep firing the bullets but my heart’s ice,

Teflone protects from apathetic spite.

Try to flee, escape being so involved.

Your rafts near the edge, your facing the falls.

I’m here still, wrapped safely in healing gauze,

Bandaged wounds, not broken yet but so appalled.

——

You’re a fake, soulless, not a person, symbolic —

Of times that ache you snidely taunted, grinned,

Thinking you’ve shattered me but I’ve broad wings,

I’m not afraid though shots ring and fists swing.

I punch hard, I’ve come this far, I’m not broken

So laugh — guffaw, fist’s raw, first shot’s token.

My knuckles are torn and eyes narrowed slits,

You aim low, for you I’m not nostalgic.

—-

You give and you take, pain you’ll not revoke,

I smiled told you once more — I’m still not broken

Brass knuckles glint in daylight’s warmth,

Think the light fools me? Im trained well to swarm

Push back tough kick against ominious storm

I won’t drown, I swim, even when life’s deformed.

You hit me hard, I’ve come so far, not joking,

Words flying fast shouting, “I’m not broken.”

——

Rain pours strong, the river’s harsh pull has might;

Life’s a struggle, I’ve swam this far, I’m feisty.

You hit me hard, I’ll hit back; swollen lips,

Fists raised, not broken since our final kiss.

You’ll not shake my wings in flight, or tear them,

My feathers eagles gifted, they won’t rend

When they’re ruffled, mussed, my wings hold on strong,

Natural elegance never broken long.

—–

You struck me hard, watched me fall, gave bruises,

In the end, you’re the dunce who is confused.

I’ve come this far, I’ve the light of lights

His candle guiding me now as I write.

I’d fight physically but words have more bite —

I’m not broken, words all true, my respite.

You try to force your rule, your edicts fire lights.

I’m not broken, when I must I’ll fight.

“Red” by Taylor Swift

——

Souls fused,

Luminous Rouge.

Nos coeurs,

Gleam as one.

Connection pulsing.

Palms grasped tight.

Bliss, serenity,

Passion never replete.

Forever yearning,

Skin caressed.

Conversations ’till dawn.

Before sultry bodies meld.

Passionate sins,

Red cinders.
Cold words,
Haunting gray,

Your stone heart,

Sculpted of ice.

 Yet Red love,

Throbs in —

Stomach’s hollowness,

Hearts stabbing.

Memories,

Blood Red.

Music Prompt #5: Poem – Lunes – “Not Your Mama” #amwriting #poetry #musicchallenge

Thanks to MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie for hosting the Music Prompt every second Friday. Last week’s song was “I Ain’t Your Mama” by Jennifer Lopez. I guess next time I’ll have to pick a better song, no one was interested in giving this one a go. But I should write for my own prompt at least.

“I Ain’t Your Mama” by Jennifer Lopez

——-

I’m not just the woman,

Who cooks for,

Love, your favourite foods served.

——

I’m not the one who should,

Be waking you,

To work, every single morning.

——-

Crazy in love, partners united,

We’ve fallen apart,

Let’s glue the past together.

——

For a future where we’re —

Both committed; both —

Living life to the fullest.

—–

No settling into comfortable boredom,

Watching TV not,

Noticing each other, nor caring.

—–

Do some house work, it —

Will heat up,

The sheets; bring back fire —

——

And if you don’ t desire,

Changes or improvement,

Tell me now, I’ll pack —

——-

My bags; I’ll start again,

Because I deserve —

Better — I Ain’t Your Mama.

(Her View)

Tonight’s the night he’s meeting me here later

Passions ignited, we’ve fires, need sating

All the desires of our time together, at last met

I’ll be shaking, moaning, chasing the stars

Caught in the moment, we’ll shatter as glass

Wrapped in your strong arms, I’ll have a blast.

Waiting for tonight, excitement beaming

When you and I are lovers holding,  fast.

——

Preening, applying makeup and shaking

Preparing for you, our first time creating.

Ensuring our night’s perfect; it’ll end complete.

Skin grazingcaressing, nothing sub-par

Lovers busy enjoying repast

Perfect lingerie, beneath a gown fast

Becoming a favourite; it’s perfect and tight

Rip it off, no need to be so classy

——

Waiting for tonight, our love embracing,

Perfection between us, this night for our sake.

I’ve planned it exactly, we’ll not overstep

Each moments vital, at the finale beseech.

Give into our lust, marvel in love far —

Better than any you’ve ever had; here we’ll last,

Until mornings stunning rays of light

I wait for him, he’s mine; trembling, my hands clasp.

——

(His View)

Tonight it came, the nightmare couldn’t wait

She’s obssessed, unstable, any day she’ll break.

Better to stop, was never invested, not set

On staying with her; she’s a whale beached.

Though thin like a beanpole, not nice at all

Loathsome personality, running fast —

Driving passed; her obsession frightening

I was ‘nice’ once or twice, now there’s an impasse.

——

Need freedom, her annoying voice I hate,

Can life be normal again? Not Hell made?

Can I touch the one I love, and not regret

Bringing him into drama; twice I cheated,

Boyfriend enraged; a dumb girl caused my fall.

Told her, “I like men most;” but left aghast —

She doesn’t care, spoiled girl; not smart, no insight,

Traps into engagement; I’ll always pass

Guilty Pleasure: Pepsi (with warnings!)

Prompt: Tell us about a guilty pleasure that you hate to love.

http://www.aquaterracorp.ca Pepsi. Can 355ml

There are a few guilty pleasures I am culpable for loving. I am not all together proud of these pleasures but I do like them.

My worst guilty pleasure is drinking Pepsi. Some people drink coffee, some people drink energy drinks, and I drink Pepsi. It is addictive, truly. I never used to drink it except every now and then when I’d end up at the food court for lunch. But there were times at home when I got bored and wanted something sweet. And I was okay at first having Pepsi once in awhile but soon the sugar intake became addictive and I was drinking one a day, and sometimes two. There is so much sugar in Pepsi about 10 teaspoons. It is better to put a couple teaspoons on your Shreddies or Cornflakes then drink one can of Pepsi.

I have tried countless times to stop drinking it. To go back to drinking Pepsi only as a treat on some weekends or at the food court every now and then. I can stop for a little while. It is tough for a week or so but then I stop craving the sugar so much. But I always fall back into this pattern of drinking Pepsi again. It starts with a couple of them a week and increases from there.

Part of it has to do with the caffeine in Pepsi. I lack energy and the caffeine gives me a boost to start moving and do something when I feel unmotivated. I have read it takes twenty-one days or three weeks to break a bad habit and replace it with a good one. I have gotten to day fourteen before going back to my old ways.

Plus, I love how Pepsi tastes. I like the flavour of Pepsi in a can or in a fountain drink. It’s not the same out of a bottle. I don’t like how super-sweet a bottle of Pepsi tastes. I have attempted to change out Pepsi with water and lemon juice and it works for a bit until I have a day where I need energy badly and can barely prepare myself for the day. I have also been successful at changing out my Pepsi, which I have around 10:30 am or 11:00 am, with an energizing green tea which has caffeine in it. Tea is tasteless in comparison, however. Although, one can of Pepsi isn’t so bad for you, what bothers me is how often I want a second can and have a second can of Pepsi.

I have learnt how a person’s body does not metabolize all the sugar in Pepsi and how it builds up as fat and in your belly and causes bloating. It is especially dangerous that Pepsi causes belly fat because belly fat builds up around your organs as visceral fat and it can cause complications for your health.

Pepsi causes weight gain and significant growth in your waist circumference over time. If everything else is equal in your diet it is said a can of Coke (Pepsi) can add an extra 14.5 pounds on a person per year. There is also a 20 percent chance increase of heart attack in someone who consistently drinks soft drinks. Not to mention, Pepsi can compromise a person’s learning and memory formation especially if you are young. Combined with all the medications I am taking, I am increasing my chance of becoming a diabetic in my elder years by drinking soda. Research also shows Pepsi has links to Cancer and can acellerate the aging process.

Moreover, Pepsi is bad for your teeth. If you drink a can, you are supposed to wash your mouth out with water and leave your teeth awhile. Then an hour later brush your teeth. If you brush your teeth right away, the acidity of the soft drink will harm the enamel on your teeth. The acidity of Pepsi with your teeth is unhealthy. Once the enamel on your teeth is gone, you can’t get it back.

Honestly, Diet Pepsi is not better for you, neither is Coke, or Diet Coke. A Dietition explained to me how Diet Pepsi is actually worse for you then merely drinking regular Pepsi. Apparently, the artificial sweeteners in Diet Pop such as aspartame, do not satisfy a person’s apetite and can lead to increased weight gain compared with regular soda. Diet soda increases desire for fatty food and interferes with natural bacteria in our stomachs making us less tolerant of glucose. Never mind, increased risk of heart attack and stroke over people who drink regular pop. Craving more fatty food is minimal although still relevant with regular Pepsi or Coke. Additionally, a problem with any soda is it contains high- fructose corn syrup. This high intensity sugar made from corn, increases body fat and makes you hungry.

I’ll be starting to ween myself off Pepsi again now. 21 days to go…

Pinterest Fashion Winter/Spring

Well, it goes without saying that I like many a person have become addicted to pinterest; a great way to kill an hour, go on pinterest pick a subject and pin your favorites. Or go to all your favorite websites and pin your ‘must have’ pieces for the coming spring. One of the things I love about pinterest is the fact that I have discovered so many other websites and blogs through pinterest, often that I have bought stuff or pinned stuff off of. Today I just wanted to show you some of my favorite fashion pins of late, and trends I see emerging or have seen emerging in the last while:

Exotic Bazaar <3<3<3

Chunky Jewelry – it doesn’t always work with every outfit but with a plane shirt/dress a definite must to make your outfit pop. I love pearls they are so classic so I have chosen this chunky pearl necklace. And below a lovely mint green necklace that I have in fact, bought for myself off a great website called Pree Brulee which is going to have a fashion line soon. I also got a belt and cool ring. Everything is reasonably priced and so sweet and pretty.

Ocean Treasure Necklace

I LOVE this

Long Dresses- well since last summer we have seen the emergence of these lovely long dresses. I recently ordered a beautiful black one off of http://www.modcloth.com for the summer but what I love about this one is a.) it’s navy and has a chevron patterned skirt – two things that are very in b.) the way the top and bottom half are different so if you are bigger on top and smaller on the bottom (triangle shaped) this would give you a lovely silhouette

black lace pj pantsTerani

Lace – as you may have already noticed lace is in like nuts, whether it be in pj pants or evening dresses. I love the elegance of lace pj pants, plus they are pretty sexy. Also, the beautiful beading and laceyness of the evening dress with the triangle neckline is gorgeous – also you’ll notice it is in everyone’s favorite color navy.

ZAD Beautiful Set of 3 Peacock Feather Print Bangle Bracelet Set Gold ToneTurquoise and Silver Bracelets.

Cuffs- also very fashionable and being worn by every girl like crazy. I love the peacock feathers on the gold cuffs to the right – peacock feathers being another big theme in fashion – and the lovely turquoise bracelets to my right are divine.

Miz Mooz Amelia Boot (Black)Jimmy Choo - -AnoukGC SHOES Rosanna

The perfect shoes!!! Well as women we need many and for many different occasions. Since, it’s winter up here in Canada the boots to me are the perfect boots to wear out and about, going to school, at work, and pretty much anywhere. The heel height is sensible and so is black leather. As for the green pumps – lovely to wear to work for a little pop of that sea green that is in, or wear out at night with the perfect dress; the little flats are just right for a little glitz for shoes you can walk in yet shoes that could dress up a little skirt as it becomes nicer.

Diane von Furstenberg Illene Crepe Blazer - ShopBAZAARPink please!!

One word – MAGENTA – the perfect bright and stunning color to make any outfit stand out in blazers, boots, or whatever you want to where it in. I personally, love this color and think everyone needs a little boldness in their wardrobe once and a while!

Yves Saint Laurent | Leather and stretch-wool crepe dressCute date outfitLovin this Little Black Dress $129Sassy & Classy

As always we need the perfect LBD in lace, leather, satin or whatever material you like. Perfect for an evening out or to throw a blazer over in the day time. They are out their this winter/spring in all cuts, shapes, and lengths so finding the perfect one should not be too hard at all.

Simple and classyThis dress is gorgeous.Mint long sleeve dressThat dress + that color

Along with your LBD you will also need your little mint dress (LMD). The LMD also comes in a unique variety of lengths, styles, shapes, and sizes. It is not as fancy as LBD but a good day time option for the girl on the go who wants to look pretty!

Simply fab!RED dress !Miu Miu pumps in redandriana

Something Red – Like Magenta, red can provide that pop in your wardrobe. Here we have examples of dresses in shoes particularly, in a more apple red. But you can wear a red blazer, a red bra, red pants, a red shirt, anything red will bring that flash of elegance, especially with a little gold jewelry as demonstrated by Carry Underwood’s classy red dress.

Anyways, those are some of my favorite trends found hiding on the fashion board of pinterest. I’m sure all you gorgeous ladies out their have found them out for yourself but just in case I’m glad you took a look at my blog.

Take care,
