The beauty of my love is sweet, divinely prized.

Through fields of wildflower I follow her steps,

Her milk white skin, soft, supple; she knows best,

How tiny goat kids, and dog’s pups will thrive.

They bleet, whimper, for her hands petting coats,

Feeding them drops of milk reviving life’s hope.

So they wil live glorious in pastures kind;

Become adults frolic, following my queen.

The beauty of my love is sweet, divinely prized.

The beauty of my love is sweet, divinely prized,

She gathers the chickens eggs to feed,

Those who grace her kitchen with smiles pleased.

Finds the dairy cows, milks them all beguiling.

She’s a feminist, believes we never stop learning.

She chose to farm, grows organic food, serves —

Customers desiring; at market they find hers first;

My love works hard, adores our life, she’s pleased.

The beauty of my love is sweet, divinely prized.

——–

I’m a vivid monument,

I’m his lover cruelly tricked,

Just art.

——

Result of magic powerful,

A priest with such evil intent,

Wounds me.

—–

For I had thought the toxic paint,

That burned my skin would kill me,

I wished.

——-

I only pass out the priest laughs,

Eyes glinting, evil smile, tells me —

“Enjoy.”

—–

For this was my punishment,

Tempting our ‘leader’ with my love,

Trapped now.

—–

Not quite alive, not quite so dead,

My man, the leader, loves artwork,

He stares.

—–

I wonder if he recognizes,

A shadow of his beloved gone,

Each night.
—–

He comes with pain others cannot —

Ever see; I could’ve been his,

Soft place.

—–

Never can I speak, the priest’s curse,

Ensured silence, a spell took —

My voice.

—–

—–

I pray to God help me find —

My love jumps as my voice cries,

Returned.

——

Becomes aghast, furious,

He thinks me a dream I tell him,

The truth.

—-

Our stories, our love, a life —

We’d planned and he listens,

With tears.

—–

Then such rage summoning priest,

Who is forced to repair me from this,

Art hell.

——

I’m taken from between life and —

Death; restored to my former self,

I’m saved.

—–

My hero never gave up on —

Me; didn’t believe I ran, now

We’re us.

—-

Priest I have no knowledge of,

My guy, our leader was enraged,

Priest dead?

—-

Or suffering hell as I?

Two years in art trapped, lost;

Now free.

Parts of city, no one admits are here,

Only smashed cars, railroad tracks live dying.

Find a fleck of hope here;

There’s not but skeletons, twisted years lost.

*****

We stare into the crisscrossing of tracks,

Wonder how all the trains never seem lost.

For accidents, no care.

Here is our place, where no one dare go.

****

I will always hope,

Wishing there’s more left,

Then empty spaces littered.

I’ll find strength where it hurts,

Will I change our lot?

Someday our names will echo beyond.

*****

I’m tired of staying in this mishmash space,

There’s more to life than choking on coal dust.

My love, we’ll find our place.

We’re wolves, eyes gleaming, searching for home.

*****

Bitterness leaves me caught in this valley,

Is still and hot; we’ll move, find our names.

Wolves as you and I,

Our might is large; ignored, we’re crafty.

*****

I will always hope,

Wishing there’s more left,

Then empty spaces littered.

I’ll find strength where it hurts,

Will I change our lot?

Someday our names will echo beyond.

I writhe, I wreathe for I’m neatly twisted,

You’ll never unravel me, my heart unknown.

You hold the tether on my talons tight fisted

I’m tenacious, a survivor bold,

You can tie me in knots, try to keep me near;

I’ll escape, live without your blackness owned.

I don’t quit; you shouldn’t trap me for fear,

I’ll catch you first, she-wolf who swiftly bites.

Your callous ropes hurt, but I’ll disappear

Love doesn’t choke, it’s not uninviting

Love is a freedom, not a smoke screen

But you’re in my den, I’m growling my spite

My name isn’t “Sweetheart,” don’t demean me;

Power struggle invoked, within your ropes —

I’ve held dear, but know I’m incharge here.

Droplets of blood, I swear I won’t be broke

Such a darkness in you raptured by my light.

Goodness will win; she-wolves don’t quit, they’ve hope.

My love, no more traps, let my heart be free

Your wolf, let her breathe, she’ll return to thee

I writhe, I wreathe, for I’m neatly twisted.

You hold the tether on my talons, tight fisted.

Autumn was such a time for us,

Love was fun, nothing dangerous.

Leaves falling deep red, orange, yellow.

Met you walking, strong and mellow.

Attractiveness found, conversation, tokens.

Hid memories in a box, saved before broken.

——-

Paper boats sailed on peaceful lake,

Sitting ‘neath trees, in your arms wake.

Photographs you took of me and —

Made me laugh, giggle; life was grand.

Such times we had, you lugging your camera around,

Pictures of us, many left, they’re here surrounding.

——

Photobooth, and I sat on your —

Lap; laughing again, not sorry.

Your handsome face, so dear to me,

Making you laugh, my mission, see?

Making faces in photos in my underwear,

I knew I could coax out a smile, you loved me bare.

——

Exposed to you, negatives shot,

Our days close, even when we fought.

Knew you well, every smile and frown,

Wish you were alive, but you drowned.

Now our time is done, my photographer, my love.

All these pictures snapped, thinking of us, our short love.

——

A spritz of the perfume I wore,

The day we meant, special for —

Not forgetting you now; playing —

Songs we sang, piano keys they say,

Through music what I could never admit alone,

Autumn was our time, in your arms laying, I was home.
