#OctPoWriMo – Day 9/Saturday Mix: Poem – Elfjies – “Smoke Baby” #amwriting #poetry #Saturdaymix

For OctPoWriMo Day 9 the Prompt is based on the words “tapping the ash of her cigarette,” and what memory or story pops into our minds. Also doing the Saturday Mix Prompt from Sarah (Weejars) of MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie using a poem form called an Elfje

“An ‘Elfje’ counts as five sentences.
Line 1 – One word. This word symbolizes a colour or feature. The word symbolizes the atmosphere.

Line 2 – Two words. These are something or someone with this colour or feature.

Line 3 – Three words. Giving more information about the person or the object. You describe where the person or the object is, who the person or what the object is, or what the person or object is doing. This sentence usually starts with the word ‘he’, ‘she’ or ‘it.’

Line 4 – Four words. Here you are writing something about yourself in relation to the person or the object. This sentence is your conclusion.

Line 5 – One word. This word is called the ‘Bomb.’ It is the essence of the poem.”

Hawksley Workmen – “Smoke Baby”

———

Regret,

Fingers clench,

Her mouth casually,

Pulls her cigarette,  smoke trails —

Lingers.

——-

Ash,

Builds atop,

Deftly tapping cigarette,

Ochre eyes simper, crushing —

Cinders.

——–

Lips,

Pouty, defined,

Pursing them prettily,

Tossing peroxide mane, whispering —

Promises.

—-

Words,

They’ll not,

Be promises kept,

Her words as cinders,

Burn.

——

Night,

Ends quickly,

She disappears, gone —

You’re broken, smoke-heavy —

Regrets.

—–

Away,

Far gone,

Hips swaying, curves,

Bouncing, as she chuckles,

Devoid

—-

Thoughts,

Of her,

Sweeping through mind,

Shadow of sleepless night,

Altering.

—-

Perception,

Of beauty;

She’s no defeat,

Just reeks of cigarette —

Ashes.

—-

Forever,

Remembering her —

Two-pack habit,

Makes you and me,

Gag.

Sunday Photo Fiction: Poem – Italian Sonnet – “Autumn Forever” #amwriting #poetry #flashfiction

——–

Crumpled bits of paper bags, butterscotch,

Vermilion, ocher, brunette leaves rumpled.

Gone are days of verdence lush, now muffled —

By decay; pungent scent, Autumn rotting.

Such beauty, such fear of summer days lost.

Imagining patio, sangria’s stumble.

While in the new cold, fingers they fumble.

Finding right key before cold’s biting frost.

Radiant decay stay awhile and crunch —

Underfoot; wandering through rivervalleys.

Temperatures perfect, breezy days fun,

The crinkle of Autumn’s shedding grande.

Where the cold and warmth linger sharing grace,

Fall forever as I meander trails.

Night calling and it bleeds with today’s pain,

Your words, riddles linger, we’re both to blame;

Shower of diamonds, your words cut, blood rains.

It’s the anger you give me, my heart strains
To feel the comfort, the closeness, not this hate;

Can I forgive? Your inner monster reigns.

He doesn’t hit; he’s inside you unsated
He’s your temper, you destroy us, words dwell

Lips sting abusive words, past ignites, lost faith.

You think I won’t forgive; I’m your lover, a shell,
I don’t want to live as Belle, trapped in prison.

I know beast’s heart; goodness hidden in hell.

This nightmare, sleeping alone, nothing given,
Brought us down, broken paths, this our last night?

You want sleep, you want peace — but I’m livid.

I’m tired of the bore, this game playing, our fight,
So I’ll wrap the sheet around you, I’m stupid

I care you’re warm, your sight gives me hope — light.

My soul’s battered, yours is too, let’s erase —
Our problems; your eyes lift, I stroke your face.

Night calling and it bleeds with today’s pain,

Your words, riddles linger, we’re both to blame.

B&P’s Shadorma and Beyond Challenge: “To the Fall Leaves” #amwriting #poetry

Thank you to MindLovesMisery’s Menagerie for hosting this week’s challenge on Fall and D.H. Lawrence’s poem about Fall called: “Autumn Rain.”

——-

Crinkled Leaves,

Whisper past my cheek,

Twist in hair,

On the ground,

Disperse in my hand, fragments,

Not one leaf — thousands.

—–

The scent Fall —

Gives, lingers of rot.

It’s acrid

Yet pleasant.

Dessication, fragrance breathe;

A nip in the air.

—–

Floating leaves,

Linger around trees,

Dropping as —

One passes,

Realize everything has —

A time to live and die.

——-

Brush strokes of,

Deep scarlet and orange —

As pumpkins,

Yellow as —

Butterscotch dripping and warm,

Oozing to the ground.

——-

Feet crunching,

Leaves underfoot and twigs,

From trees mix,

With their birth–

Place; such twigs sprung with green leaves,

There weight is now shed.

——

Arises,

The wind, blowing such –

Skeletons,

They were lush,

Now, they are gone, murmuring —

Winters chill and scorn.

——

Yet such a —

Beauty one does not —

See, but in —

The Fall when,

Leaves cover pathways, hint at —

Fascinating old dreams.

Poem: Kyrielle “Breath Again.”

wew.jyoti7208.wordpress.com

—–
Here I was beginning again,

To breath and hurt and want more rain,

The kind that washes away everything,

Rain as the tears you dry and wring,

—–

Out of hankerchiefs and feel.

Life is sordid, wish I could heal.

And taste a future in my tears.

Hidden within saltwater, my fears.

—–

Have you gone away, will you seek,

Me out now, you’re busy all week,

Days roll by, we grow apart, breathe. . .

Each day you’re gone, my hope it leaves.

—–

Life feels empty without the scene,

I had of you and me and I lean,

On the weeks work never complete.

Constant activity, replete.

—–

Where are kisses that burn like fire,

Where are moments found of fierce desire,

Waking each morning to an empty,

Bed, where you and I lay gently.

—-

Oh for the feelings of fingers,

Kneading stress out of my neck, please linger.

Caste kisses on my skin, trails you make.

While I’m asleep, smiles I awake.

______

Who said you can’t eat cake in bed,

Chocolate icing, endorphins fed.

And smear some on your lips so soft,

With perseverance lick it off.

—–

And dull afternoons turn to skin,

So near and full of many sins.

I won’t tell your secrets if you keep.

Your promise to be with me, leap.

—–

Where bodies tangle and embrace,

There is a connection of grace.

And lips swollen with kisses.

Your heart beats and I have a wish.

—–

To be closer still and find what’s true,

Close as lips upon your chest grew,

To your fingers and their tight grasp,

Digits in my hair, pull — I gasp.

—–

You and me we are partners in,

This game of life, with cheerful grins.

Our comings and goings,

Together we are, only knowing.
