Life rolls by you think you’re forgotten but wait

Your heart holds me, for love it’s never too late.

She wasn’t the one, it happened again — you failed,

Tonight you’ll drink beer, eat  ice cream, pass out –wail.

For your lover who’s lost, who never loved you,

You filled her time, until the right match came through.

It’s easy to lay on the couch all day mad,

Or curse, yell about why she makes you so irate.

But two-weeks have passed, end the bereavement stage,

Time to awake, you’re alive so live –engage.

Life rolls by you think you’re forgotten but wait —

Your heart holds me,  for love it’s never too late.
——-

She wasn’t the one, it happened again, you failed,

Tonight you’ll drink beer, eat ice cream, pass out –wail.

Don’t fall back to bad habits, find a routein,

You may feel empty, fake it until you believe —

You’re content, a person with friends and full life.

Realizing you’d lost the you from you, your light.

Inner spark rekindled, explore as you please,

Don’t ditch your mates, laugh — stretch your soul, be appeased.

Expand your knowledge, discover new interests,

No guilt, you’re learning to assert, not splinter.

Life rolls by you think you’re forgotten but wait —

Your heart holds me, for love it’s never too late.
——

For your lover who’s lost, who never loved you,

You filled their time, until the right match came through.

I’ve been waiting long, for a glimpse of your grin.

For you to open up, for you to to heal within.

At the right moment, I’ll reveal my secret.

Loved you, from the first moment; feel such weakness,

Didn’t try to push, always near you, I seek.

Your lips in the car, a wonderful surprise,

Never thought you loved me; now I realize.

Life rolls by you think you’re forgotten but wait —

Your heart holds me, for love it’s never too late.

——

It’s easy to lay on the couch all day mad.

Or curse, yell about why she made you so irate.

You’ve me in your grasp now, I won’t let her win.

For you to feel sorrow over her, such a sin.
She wasn’t worth your effort, wasn’t worth your time.

I’m loyal; I’m steadfast; we’re friends first, consign —

Awful memories to experience, and love me more.

Distance may separate, years pass –our love’s sworn.

Who was she? Thank her hurtfulness thoughtfully,

Pain healed, gave –love, passion, silence comfortably.

Life rolls by you think you’re forgotten but wait —

Your heart holds me , for love it’s never too late.

Photo (Collage) Challenge: Poem – LaJemme – “Live Now”

Thanks to MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie for hosting this week’s collage prompt.To quote the quote provided: ” Find what you love and let it kill you.” – Charles Bukowski

Credit: MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie

“Find what you love and let it kill you,” love?

Not convinced of such advice; I feel through

Strife for all you who love, learning thereof,

You’re drained, weighing yourself down, you pained fool.

See love already makes you pay?

Don’t panic dreading, nor cling fast.

Life goes by fast, have you read?

Knowledge balance — passion and sass.

For unreal love, don’t die gallant.

You cannot last, with such false love.

Nothingness, lover’s grave now grass.

People alter their love, cast out love.

I’m not thinking of dying slow, faltering.

Enjoy laughing, for life’s done in a wink.

Wish not to sink in grave, for fresh air gasping.

Not leaving fast; learning never to blink.

You don’t know you; it changes, what you in life love.

Passion a glove, fits at the time, ends though —

You’ve no slight clue, once you’re dead — you’re above.

Live now, death costly price for draining you.

Poem: Free Verse – “The Darkest Faeries” #amwriting #poetry #faeries

http://www.villians.wikia.com

——–

The wings of a faerie, a delicate lace.

Transparent and glowing with,

Each faeries myriad colour choice.

You can see their wings flash,

When the sun begins to set;

When echoes of the rainbow,

Give one the illusion of colours bold.

But it’s the faeries who are —

As beautiful as they’re deadly,

Luring children to their faerie lands.

Turning your infants to faeries,

To live many ages;

To play the wicked games faeries play.

—-

They’ve no offspring so they steal,

A babe fed; left in their crib.

And you a mother are distraught,

Be not surprised; it’s what faeries do.

You’ve heard the tales and watched,

As your mother, and her mother before her.

Still you cry and sob;

Picking-up your biggest kitchen knife.

Faeries are terrible beings,

We read false truth about,

They don’t actually want to help.

They’re evil when alive too long.

——-

Faeries so tiny,

Keep their race alive.

Promptly, wave their hands;

The wisps of their garments,

Sleeves like streamers trailing long.

Chanting magic ancestors taught,

They curse your darlings with bright wings.

And turn you and you husband away,

Searching for,

Your their stolen little ones.

Though you, broken-hearted mother,

You keep up the fight.

You want your children to grow,

Not become an evil faerie and —

Live a Millennium to burn.

——-

Faeries lead astray those,

Who try to capture them.

You who yearn for your babes,

To get your children home.

As faeries, your darlings grow in the blink of an eye;

Become adult faeries in days,

Not knowing they were humans young,

Merely days ago.

——

Mother’s sorely missing kids,

Are wandering the forest for —

Where ancient faeries hide.

Faeries lie to stolen babes,

Say they were unwanted,

So the faeries gave them home.

And rainbow wings to one day,

Catch the eye of yet more babes.

Lost before a parent sees,

A child stolen gone.

——

Faeries change your young,

Dawning them with gossamer wings,

Knowledge of mischief and celebration.

A faeries life is of none-stop festivity,

With little meaning;

And no knowledge do faeries posses,

But the knowledge to take;

Those you hold so dear–

It’s why you burn their wings,

In the candle lit at night;

So, they will never curse your home,

And bring you a mother’s tears,

——

Why you learned to take your knife,

And kill the old faeries weird,

To end their malicious games.

Take back your children,

Undo the magic faeries formed.

You’ll burn and stab their wings all night,

Until your children,

And your neighbour’s young,

Are finally, safe at home.

So the faeries fade away.

Die out with no offspring,

Because of you;

Your child lives.

And never will you cry again,

From a fairy interfering.

You, most feisty mother,

For your perseverance, you have won.

Poem: A L’Arora -“Wise King Solomon”

King Solomon
http://www.Ids.org

Knowledge King Solomon asked,

To rule with wisdom His Lord gave,

Over people “numerous as —

The dust of the earth;” to rule with —

God’s grace provided and for,

Praying for such knowledge, wisdom;

Granted wealth, possessions, honor.

Praying for such knowledge, wisdom.

Solomon, blessed as no king here passed.

From King David’s line; His God saves.

Gifting Solomon with treasures as,

Chariot, precious metals with,

Best horses, chariot bred for.

Praying for such knowledge, wisdom;

Granted fame even, today for —

Praying for such knowledge,wisdom.

Building temple, His Lord, him tasked,

Timber from everywhere, many gave.

Silver and gold; gone as time has —

Drifted through the ages, left with —

Second Chronicles telling for —

Praying for such knowledge, wisdom;

Asking right gifts, rewarded more.

Praying for such knowledge, wisdom.

Time passes; treasure hunters classed,

Finding Solomon`s treasure, braved.

But I believe they forget as —

Those who seek only wealth; lose with —

Elusive gems; not asking God more.

Praying for such knowledge, wisdom;

Ask as Solomon too asked God for,

Praying for such knowledge, wisdom.

Poem: Free Verse – “Words After Turning Thirty-One” #amwriting #poetry

http://www.pinterest.com

——–

What do we become as women at thirty-one?

Are we put out to pasture?
Or are we doing the kicking to the curb?

Are we like the woman of the 1960’s?

Childless, no husband, so no value?

Are we no longer desired?

Are we spinsters, old-maids, bachelorettes for life?

Or are do we fit my Uncles words:

“The most beautiful women are in their thirties.”

Is it just the beginning, or is it the end?

A last stretch of youth?

Or maybe, a reach for adulthood?

Where some intelligence kicks in,

And you’re tired of the lies,

Meaningful nights; mornings depressed.

So, you’ll wait for the right kind of guy,

With the right kind of flaws;

Or maybe you live your own charmed life?

Happy to be single, confident, relaxed.

Is it coming out of bubble gum and pink clouds?

Finally not a girl;

But a woman who can impact change?

Is it refinement and elegance?

A striving for grace and eloquence?

Is it realizing there is no Prince Charming?

No white horse or Disney fairytale?

Building your own life,

Do you forge it the best you can?

Is it becoming aware even greater,

Your teachers in childhood are growing older;

Your most lives won’t be around forever,

So, you gather their wisdom while you can;

Spend time with them now.

Time steals loved ones; be they young or old.

Is thirty-one when you realize,

You are not impervious to dying at anytime in life?

Severe fatigue, cancer, lupus, Thyroid troubles,

Depression, anxiety, car accidents, the flu, MS;

Disease in some form, affects us all,

Bodies which don’t bounce back as easily;

Requiring movement to maintain fitness,
And junk food, oh you’ll pay for it later!

Sharing a bottle of vodka, tequila, or wine;

Drinking almost all of it,

Can this be done anymore, and survived?

Two glasses of wine or two beers,

Every once in a while seems alright,

Or face the two-day hangover regrettfully.

The biggest thing about being thirty-one,

I’ll never get back years in my twenties,

Lost in fatigue and mental illness, affects of meds;

They’re fond memories of genuine friends;

Futures, I see possibilities of having.

But someone wise once wrote, at the ages if 15 to 32:

Don’t worry about marriage, kids, or being grown-up;

Just enjoy and learn, explore the world.

The wanderlust calls to me endlessly,

A mysterious adventure waiting;

Such planning, such difficulties, such hardship;

For a fantastic trip; I could barely walk all day,

Or afford it; but wouldn’t it be worth it?

To have thousands of foot prints,

To cover my pages, and see it’s okay – life goes how it does.

Thirty-one it’s only begun; an age of aspirations,

Hopefully, inspirations to write more of;

As numerous as my days in all my years allotted.

Passion and a life to live, anyway I know how.

Grace of God abounding; encircling profoundly,

His child, he won’t let stumble long.

He guards with angels, and —

His forever promise of light in the dark;

As wise JK Rowling wrote through Dumbledore:

“Happiness can be found even in the darkest of times;

If only one will Remember, to turn on the light.”

Poem: Free Verse –  “Fraility Flailing” #amwriting #poetry

Thanks to The Daily Post for the word prompt Frail.

——

http://www.nited-academics.org

——-

We walk the golden path; we’re frail,

Is there any other way to wander?

No one stronger or wiser left to fight?

But we’ve aged within minutes,

We forgot to gaze behind us,

To see what the past left for us;

Wisdom and knowledge with a bloody trail.

Instead, we’re continuing on a broken path,

We’re frail, aging humans by the seconds;

Counting our tomorrows,

Before we have them granted.

Not listening to our elders;

Who lost life, limb, peace, to war and grief.

We don’t look skyward to the heavens,

We watch our own feet tremble.

Stuttering we stumble down the trail.

Dragging our canes and walkers;

We’re riddled with bullet holes.

Wounds we never felt,

We never gave up our guns;

Never thought what “security,” meant,

For our children and grandchildren.

We’re all exceedingly frail,

As if we were ancient beings;

We carry their genes but their wisdom,

We breathe out like carbon.

The hurricane winds blow through our ears,

Blocking out what we don’t want to hear.

Truth is a dangerous weapon,

The truth can change direction.

The truth can smart and hurt,

Our lungs can barely breathe.

It degrades and humiliates,

It stings our eyes and it turns,

Focused vision, to grey static.

The truth it always is revealed,

Until all we can see is real.

But real has no pertinent meaning,

When what you’re used to,

Lies promoted and shouted.

Lies built upon lies,

More colourful than,

The Grande Canyon’s layered rock.

We hide behind our lies,

It makes us distrusting.

Flailing, we cannot believe in anyone;

Not even ourselves to do what’s right.

We cannot elect using logic;

No true king on this earthly realm,

To lead us to glory and home.

We don’t even have faith in,

Our own minds and bodies.

We’re so frail, as paper cranes crushed,

As tissue paper torn without thought.

We cannot lift our fingers to point,

To teach unlearning children lessons,

Before they end up like us.

We’re frail; yet we don’t know the meaning,

But as assuredly as the world turns,

Our ashes and dust,

Will blow away in the wind.

The sands of time keep swirling,

And we’re growing ever closer,

To our own cremation;

We think we have forever,

But our steps are forgotten memories,

Or thoughts not even the silt of dirt.

Frailty so visible, we lumber around slowly,

In our slumber losing memories.

We forget to see where yesterday led,

Blindly we falter and walk where we may;

Into tears, and traps, we’re used, betrayed —

Abused and hopeless.

But we reap what we sew;

Our harvest was distrust and darkness,

A black-hole eating consuming all good.

We’re frail, until we fall where we walk,

Because life is faulty and frail too;

And our short time,

Has been for not;

If we cannot learn from our past,

See how history repeats no matter the leader.

But we are human,

So we do not learn,

Thinking we’re invincible;

Until the day we’re not.

Poem: Free Verse (Quatrains) – “Slow Sweet Burn of Life” #amwriting #poetry

Thanks to The Daily Prompt for the words Burn and Pleasure.

——–

http://www.pinterest.com

——-

Pleasure it awakes in swirls of dreams,

Our thoughts hold the key to a slow sweet burn.

To our wildest and most tempestuous scenes.

Seductive and entralling time, causing rug burn.

——–

Who plays the Queen of hearts, the lady prestine?

As our hearts smoke, cinder and ash burn.

Or wish we only for, human contact; no pipe dreams,

One hand holds another with compassionate concern.

——-

A tiny fist squeezes back, dressed in winter white cream.

The pleasure in the laughter of baby’s unreserved.

The precocious and precious delights of a child us appease.

Giggling with exuberance, gurgles for future ice cream.

——

Of love and light and fascinating swirls gleaned.

Pleasure seeking knowledge, conversation purred.

Inspiration; genuflection to God, alter the flaws, appease.

Right the wrongs, make what’s true everyone’s concern.

——-

Ambiant light; the truth in fog, bliss in dreams.

Lovers kiss, and delight in beloved’s eternal burn.

With desire and, touch, and scent, all streamed.

Only for a deep, true love, do some lucky, yearn.

——-

Embrace, scintillate soulmate; live in love’s esteem.

 Imperfections, what makes us human? To aid, serve.

Endorphins, serotonin, results in passionate beings.

But the true-love is rare; seeing life’s wheel turning.

——–

Adoration of fractures in each other; lost words breathing.

Pleasure in such imperfect cracks of others learned.

Pleasure in memories; in night’s hectic moonbeam.

Yourself, thinking back; ignoring anxious concerns.

——–

Of Pleasure indulge; of moments in life, redeeming.

Treasure seconds; breezy, blowing freedom unreserved.

As the light shines on, linger in pleasurable daydreams.

Feel yourself lost in thought, of life’s slow sweet burn.

Poem: Free Verse – ” Thoughts Spinning Before Thursday Night’s Sleep” #amwriting #poetry

———-

Spinning rhymes it’s my design.

I don’t why I am inclined.
———

I’m elated to write and tell my stories,

Truth and falsehood, real and imagined glories.

But tonight I think, I’m drained; editing all day.

Functioning through each line in my own way,

Build a dream, imagine a story which could be told,

Hope I don’t have to show my hand and fold.

——-

Spinning rhymes, it’s my design,

I don’t know why I’m inclined.

——-

So much to research and to discover,

Learning a never ending process and a dangerous lover.

Once you’ve tasted knowledge, it’s hard to forget the flavour;

Addictive, sweet chocolate, dark and soft inside, dissolving in my mouth; I savour.

Cannot forget the price of knowledge, it needs to be applied.

What good is knowing if we never use and try.

——–

Spinning rhymes, it’s my design,

I don’t know why I’m inclined.
——

Knowledge becomes experience and while we’re alive,

There’s need to know, about the paths which lead us to thrive.

They’re places which ensnarl our lives and never let go,

A wise person learns, to not tumble down, into a black hole.

The complexity of knowledge so vast,

Keep stumbling through life; it goes by fast.

———

Spinning rhymes, it’s my design,

I don’t know why I’m inclined.
——–

Help others whenever, wherever;

Let the words flow, and never let goodwill sever.

I’m alive and I’m well;

Though the summer heat already swells.

Not built for hot weather; ancestors from climates snowy.

But, I’m not a fan of bitter cold either you know.

——

Spinning rhymes, it’s my design,

I don’t know why I’m inclined.
——-

Autumns the time with fresh air and red leaves floating;

But in summer sometime, I’d like to try house boating.

Down the river flowing, all the showers I want;

Soaking in the sun, a life less daunting.

Realizing in my bathing suit, I was skinny when I thought I was fat,

And I miss being as fat as I was in my younger years past.

——–

Spinning rhymes, it’s my design,

I don’t know why I’m inclined.

——–

When I was in my early-twenties, we drank and ate all we pleased,

Know we count are calories, eat little, as if eating were a disease.

It’s problematic to let the children see how their parent’s party.

But I’m sure in a short while, they’ll have their own parties start.

Tired, now wishing for a descent slumber; peace in sleep,

Thursday night thoughts to count sheep.

——-

Spinning rhymes, it’s my design,

I don’t know why I’m inclined.

Poem: Quatrain – ” Not Empty; Complete”

Quatrain Pattern: abab abba ccdc dddd

—–

wwwimgur.com

——

Some nights I’m always broken.

I try to pick-up the pieces,

Motions occur unspoken.

I only shatter more, unceaseless.

—–

Finding the words, then I spoke.

Asleep nightmares gave no peace,

My puzzle has no fitting piece

Regretfully, I’m feeling choked.

—–

Water rising to my aching throat,

Sipping the liquid as I float,

The more I drink, I may not —

Drown; perhaps, I’ll find a life boat.

—–

Questions I ask, answers I know not,

Seeking the knowledge, mind don’t rot.

Functioning dot to dot,

Puzzled girl, completeness she sought.
