It’s called a Lego graveyard,

A container full of beheaded,

Small men —

—–

A variety of pleasant looks,

Others with face’s of ire,

 No heads.

——

The girl and boy they build fast,

Tear bodies from heads not knowing,

Bad thoughts.

—–

—–

A pile of joy for building kids,

A sight of horror for parents;

Gold teeth.

——

As Nazi’s removed in death camps,

Nothing dulls pain of Jewish soul; just —

Worth teeth.

——

A few years ago I saw an excellent movie made by and including George Clooney and some of the regular actors found in his movies — Matt Dameon (etc.) called The Monuments Men. “The film follows an Allied group from the Monuments, Fine Arts, and Archives program that is given the task of finding and saving pieces of art and other culturally important items before Nazis destroy or steal them, during World War II (Wikipedia).

One of the aspects of the film that overwhelmeingly struck me as awful was as these men went into underground mines and other places the Nazi’s hid priceless artwork, were barrels full of teeth with gold fillings that had been pulled from Jewish Concentration camp prisoners. This is just one mote terrible act of numerous actions done to Jewish prisoners slated to die by Nazis in death camps. Upon researching this, I found the practice by Nazi’s to be accurate even within the context of the movie.  I read that in some cases, the Nazi soldiers forced other prisoners to do this job form them and no pain numbing drugs or even alcohol was provided.

As well, the movie is based on a fictitious novel but the story itself is based off of real life events that are to some extent historically accurate. In the film, these American men who reclaimed the art work left the gold filled teeth and of course that was the right thing to do. Anyways, in my warped mind, those barrels full of gold teeth fillings are what these lego heads reminded me of — sorry for the imagery!

This article The Monuments Men (2014) compares the movie and the real life Monument’s men. It answers some interesting questions about WWII Nazi History and Hitler’s reasons behind stealing such a wealth of art.

Tale Weavers Prompt: Poem – Octelle – “Story Line Wrote”

Thanks to MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie for hosting this weeks prompt — Paper Back Writer:

” What is your great novel/novella/collection of short/flash fiction/poetry/ pulp paperback/graphic novel? Of course, you don’t have to write it, just write about it.

Weave any sort of tale;  in the abstract or concrete; as you or a character of yours; being accepted for publication; editing process; book tours – remember you ‘just wanna be a paperback writer.'”

I’m still working on a novel called: How Was Last Night For You? I’m editing it in second draft. Still a lot of work to do and haven’t had the time to work on it lately. This Octelle poem illustrates the story line roughly:

She wants love, but it keeps slipping,

Through her fingers, the Sirene dripping.

She’s a regular girl, too kind,

Believes in people and magic finds —

In her paranormal world sound,

Curses, mermaids, sea witch found.

Nina narrator, life gripping,

Focus and ire of a mer-witch.

John wasn’t smart at twenty-five,

Lied about girl, she cursed him live.

Where ever he wondered,

Strange events encountered.

People got hurt, women injured.

No love; witch’s wrath incurred.

Sees Nina drinking Flirtinie,

Sparks, passion, between them ignite.

A mermaid she is, sea witch too,

She’s experienced pain, heart broke through —

Victorian romance; cad —

He’d a mistress, kids they had.

Clued in after his death –cried,

Traveled, came home to new guy.

Adare never changed, men still lie.

No broken girl now -she’s Talise.

Characters wrote, story occurs,

Talise hates Nina — it’s inferred.

She cursed John left his soul burnt,

She wants John back, she’s a flirt.

Evil, she’ll never gain him through,

Her magic; Nina loves John true.

Witch’s wrath, all will suffer –die?

No one can say; writer yet edits.

Poetry: Free Verse – “Woman On Fire” #amwriting #poetry

http://www.pinterest.com

———-

Animosity conspires within her belly,

Her reactions fast, lightening sparks.

She stalks through corridors and hallways,
Blood boiling, melting inner warmth of heart.

No one speak of  what’s right or the truth.

The bottom line — what is right or true,

Meant nothing when they used her.

And the fire flits through her system,

She’s wants to burn the world down,

What made a gentle song bird, claw back viciously?

The wrath of Maleficante, innocence stolen.

Now, the swagger of her hips,

Is a femme fatele arising,

Wingspan of dragon, breathing flames of fire.

Beating down the masses, burning pyres,

Magnificent rage multiplying.

Try to stop her, it’s in her being now.

Her heart is blazing flare of woe.

Be watchful and be wary,

Someone, something, hurt her fiendishly —

A soft woman breaks most brutally,

When her inner demons burn in wrath.

She’s diligent and mean — so lost,

All her love sprung and fled.

Appears as if she should be wimpering,

But when she talks her words scorch

Heavy smoke will make you cough and choke,

It’s a dense whirling mass,

That sends ruthless cowards to their knees.

Before fire can blister and raze you,

The smoke will leave you dying,

No breath of life in her has forgiven.

Don’t hurt a soft smart woman,

She’s most dangerous;

Because when her dams break open,

All hell leaks forth.

Demon woman, betting on retribution,

No absolution, no temperance,

They’ve flown away, murdered by spite.

A reckless beauty in pink, with pearls,

Diamonds changed for rubies, tinder red glare.

Her price for life is costly,

Sparked by a wreckless cause,

Anger building, layer open layer molds.

She’s become the wretched clouds,

Above the Valcono seething.

And sulphuric rain’s in her power,

No water to save and cool you,

From a dragons lair or breathe of flame.

Another way to die —

 Like she dies inside, daily,

Consumed by all her hatred;

Marked by vengeful ire.

She’s become her indignation,

She’s fury and resentment.

A witches pot brewing,

Antagonism, tears, and vexation.

She will set afire and raze her foe.

Dangerous and furious words,

Melting magma from stones.

She burns inside, and all that’s left —

Ashes killing, if exhaled.

Dust she compresses, from the barren world,

Her flame, herself broken once too often.

Wretched soft woman,

Destroying the world and herself.

That’s why kind gentle women,

Should never be screwed with,

Once destroyed —

They bring the world down with them.

Photo (Collage) Challenge: Poem – Tankas – “The Mountain’s Wrath” #amwriting #poetry

Thank you to MindLovesMisery’s Menagerie for hosting this week’s double prompt:

Laura Bloomsbury

———

Black and white can change,

Become the most flaming bright of —

Colours; yet we’re like —

Dorothy on her Kansas —

Farm, not realizing life is grey.

Never seeing technicolor.

——–

If mountains are but smoke,

No one who said those words knew,

How burning orange and —

Yellow looks when your skin is —

Seared; the mountain spit lava clear.

Blew her top, melted downwards.

——-

On to the town who,

Had little idea but should —

Have known this day,

No technology clued.

Their mountain could release Hell,

Sulphurous smelling, burnt Hell.

—-

Poisonous gases,

Leaking down to the town folk,

No chance had they when,

Ashes fell like snow.

The worst kind of snow signals,

The ire of the mountain’s breath.

——-

In stores, on boardwalks,

Going about their day the same.

When she erupted,

No one cared at first.

But the ash and gases came,

Killing to begin, before —

—–

Lava reached familiar,

Buildings, the library.

Homes, grocery stores, work.

Yet the sky was filled,

She billowed out her smoke rings,

And she was just beginning.

——-

Threy should’ve known to —

Leave earlier but no one,

Takes responsibility;

To late to lay blame.

Run far and fast, lava spews.

Keep going magma flows, kills.

——

No Dante’s Peak is —

This; only mother nature’s,

Roaring and giving,

Life as she takes it.

Many die unaware, don’t see,

Never knew today would be —

The end: waiting done,

Here comes the promised one near.

Yet some survived it.

Never took lightly,

Those words: A Mountain is noth –

ing but smoke — they lived through it.

—–

Those who rebuilt knew,

As the lava and fire burnt their —

Homes, loved ones to crisps.

Beware the mountain;

Geologists trained don’t know,

When she’ll yield furious wrath.

He peeks at her below a baseball hat,

He’s plays with a match; he doesn’t even —

Realize he’s heading for the flames and —

He’ll be consumed by an inferno fast.

Her lips are scarlet sin, and she is —

Sucking back her whiskey; burning down —

Her soft white throat, it smokes and his gaze means–

He’s buying her next round, with Diet Coke.

Her eyes are amber flashes, synging with —

Coal black and thickened eyelashes; she is —

Fluttering at him; sulphurous voice sings.

Dissolving smoke; she’ll set fire rational.

(Any he had) until he’s choking ashy smoke —

Second -hand; a dangerous demon,

Sitting on his knee; his fantasy he —

Inhales and she’s blackening his weak heart.

She’s burning through his defence and he is–

Lusting for her skin; white ash torching within,

He’s never going to win; she’s hell —

Burning him for sin; passion ignited,

A red lighter starts the desire smoking.

She’ll go through him; like cigarettes lit,

Feeding her ire, her desire; he’s on trial.

Pointed heels lost, fire engine red toes peek,

He worships at her feet, and she consumes him.

She stands flames enveloping her; within her.

Enthralling curves and eyes seeing inside him,

Thawing out the cold; she’ll burn him down.

Raging inferno of heat, flames will kill him.

A pile of ashes she leaves in his stead.
