“So kiss me and smile for me, tell me that you’ll wait for me. Hold me like you’ll never let me go . . . ’cause I’m leaving on a jet plane, I don’t know when I’ll be back again. Oh, babe, I hate to go.” – Original Lyrics by John Denver

“Maybe love isn’t something that comes full circle. It just ebbs and flows, in and out just like the people in our lives” – Colleen Hoover, It Ends With Us

——-

Sometimes we think, it’s easy to manage to–

Balance the flow of our lives, each passage,

Of words and wonders we travel down fast.

Of memories, dreams curling blissfully through.

Of laughter, lovereason to again bloom,

Beyond the memories trapping us, lasting;

Never completely leaving until they pass,

In moments they choose, new whispers approve;

The coming of the dawn, when slumber breaks,

Though we’re scarred and hollow, gloves of lace

Will hide the marks of yesterday; fashion

A hug giving warmth, with new love, sweet dreams.

Yesterday fades, sparks today’s gentle stream

Brings reassurance, your arms hold me dear

Hungry trees,

Flesh, bone,

Graves for —

Some.

Others,

Jump from

Branches; they

Fly, liberated.

Words echoing,

Clench heart,

Safe keeping,

Locked.

Hungry,

Thieves, conspiring,

Evil found,

Hold me.

—-

Spirits flying,

Running, screaming,

Terror finds,

Us.

Hurdling,

Uniting bodies,

Pillows absorbed,

Warmth’s lack.

—-

Hungry pines,

Needles deadly,

Grabbing greedily,

Wanting.

This,

Connection stubborn,

Maddening laughter,

Protecting me.

Pine’s hungry,

We’re quicker,
Sliding sagely,

Loving.

Deeper,

You’ll find,

Us bends,

Your mind.

Poetry: Hold Me

Hold me tight I am awake

Hold me close I want to live

Don’t let me pour out in a sive

Hold me dear my soul aches

We twist and turn don’t let

Us burn; We are alive

Despite the earth survive

Hold me close don’t unhand me yet

The time will come when we must say

It’s time to go let sleep take me

For then we will be free

For now depart, take heart

To live is to love

To love is to live

Hold me close ’til worlds end

Until the end let us be close
