Saturday Mix: Poem – Alouette – ” Waterways, Rubies, and Light”  #saturdaymix #poetry #dVerse

Thanks to Sarah of Weejars on MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie for hosting Saturday Mix. Here theme as ben homophones and this week’s homephones are: straight – not crooked, strait – narrow waterway, and discussed – talked about, and disgust – sickening. I’m combining Sarah’s Prompt with Lillian from #dVerse Poet’s Pub birthstone Prompt. My birthstone or a ruby from July.

Roads aren’t all straight

They’ve crooked places.

Thin trails where water travels,

Areas you trip, fall.

Afraid to be mauled,

Waterways fast cause rabble.

—-

Trapped at a strait

Sharp-toothed bears await,

For you to give in and cry;

Say, “Life isn’t fair,

And you weren’t aware,

Of suffering,” safety’s lie.

——

Waters bring life, save,

They can also enslave

Us within straits to suffering,

You’ll drink fresh water,

You’ll can drown, falter.

But often, whirlpool’s they bluff

——

Your mind discusses

Escapes; swim through roughs.

Don’t permit whirlpool’s giant waves —

Their narrow streams ire.

Hard days don’t linger,

Swim for your life, you’ll escape

——

Many times we see,

What we think, believe —

Is an end, ’cause beginnings —

They disguise themselves,

Self disgust us tells.

We’ve not an ending, so swim.

——-

We can fight despite,

Life’s times of great spite.

We are survivors living,

To see another year.

Monthly birthstone here —

Once more; rubies mark swimming —

—–

Through, surviving dark.

Bright vivid lights hark.

Another year not unfulfilled.

A year we that we thrived,

Sadness subsiding.

With Ruby’s energy, strong will.

——–

Tres on through life’s thin,

Narrow straits to swim,

In glorious lakes and oceans.

In heat of hot springs.

As life always brings —

Light; healing not to bemoan.

——

Sublime light,

Peppers the sky.

Tangerine, Tyrian,

Shading cotton.

Dawn never swallowed,

By absent void below.

Cannot deny light streaming;

Sunlight scorches all.

Peppered clouds fade,

Azure erases night.

Magnificent sunrise,

Truthfully glorious.

To those who wander,

In the dark,

The light has come,

There’s time,

Perpetual and infinite.

Begin again;

It’s never too late.

The beauty of my love is sweet, divinely prized.

Through fields of wildflower I follow her steps,

Her milk white skin, soft, supple; she knows best,

How tiny goat kids, and dog’s pups will thrive.

They bleet, whimper, for her hands petting coats,

Feeding them drops of milk reviving life’s hope.

So they wil live glorious in pastures kind;

Become adults frolic, following my queen.

The beauty of my love is sweet, divinely prized.

The beauty of my love is sweet, divinely prized,

She gathers the chickens eggs to feed,

Those who grace her kitchen with smiles pleased.

Finds the dairy cows, milks them all beguiling.

She’s a feminist, believes we never stop learning.

She chose to farm, grows organic food, serves —

Customers desiring; at market they find hers first;

My love works hard, adores our life, she’s pleased.

The beauty of my love is sweet, divinely prized.

“I felt my lungs inflate with the onrush of scenery—air, mountains, trees, people. I thought, “This is what it is to be happy.” ― Sylvia Plath, The Bell Jar

———

In the fields pleasant green, pastures of peace.

In the fields of wheat, standing tall to greet.

The threshing machine worked, farmer in his seat,

Radio loud as wheat full grown ceases —

No longer for a glorious view reached.

Becomes the meals of many now to eat.

In the fields pleasant green, pastures of peace

In the fields of wheat, standing tall to greet.

An old wagon rotting by the house leased.

Visions of yesterday, horses released.

No burden for harvest to pull and meet.

Times have changed, technology entreats.

In fields pleasant green, pastures of peace.

Poem: Octaine Refrain – “Many Muses or One?” #wordhighjuly #poetry #amwriting #paraluman

——–

——-

Artistic muses, too many to count.

Sky, sun, earth, nature, oceans blue, galore.

World around us inspires us, she implores.

Merely, observing people in life’s fount.

Such shades of colours, glorious to use.

——–

With paint and paint brush, one cannot abuse.

There’s variety, no limited amount.

No one to say what’s art; keeping your own score.

Artistic muses, too many to count.

——-

Artistic muses, too many to count.

I’ve artistic gifts to share and give more.

People’s eyes shine, staring at colours galore.

Such muses exist? Or does one amount?

Paraluman you’ve opened my eyes bright.

——–

Charcoal, blackening my hands, grey and white.

Sketching, shading, eraser makes light count.

Renderings of images mind adores.

Artistic muses, too many to count.

Poem:Free Verse – “Fleeting”

Thanks to The Daily Prompt for the prompt word fleeting.

Considerably, much time in life is fleeting,

Even this moment passing now, it was a cheat —

We didn’t know we’d never get the moment back,

But it’s gone forever, clever, a moment we lack.

Fleeting, means something isn’t here long,

We need our best attempt, to remember it’s song,

When all our moments are gathered at the end of life,

We will see life was fleeting, for it’s pain and strife.

Perhaps, we will only picture meaningful times,

Laughing with loved ones, and considering old rhymes.

Pieces of poetry and prose, leading us through each day,

Thinking, and contemplating words, as they play,

At the end of days, it’s hard to say, what will be important.

I think for our time with our families, we’ll feel fortunate.

But if our moments are fleeting, how come they take their time,

Letting as watch the clock tick-tock, slowly, and stately, chime.

The sun may set, but it rises again; each morning so glorious.

Thinking, one day the sun won’t rise; right now it’s notorious.

It rises each day, shooting rays and light across our paths.

So when He leads us, we can go step by step and laugh.

Awaking early, only to see the breathlessness of pastel colours blend.

Photographing sky in our minds with nostalgic clarity, to rend.

Time happens so slow, but quickly when we think, how it went,

So, if you please stop saying everything is fleeting,

Instead be cheerful, and don’t forget to greet,

The people you come across in the passage of our lives.

Live each day, a wondrous burst of your best tries.

Take your time drop by drop, and spend it well, don’t cheat.

Be watchful; when moments go, they go on feet so fleet.
