She valued it,

Above all.

Elaborate China,

Not pretty or delicate.

Gaudy-patterned,

Indigo Wedgewood.

Peach, gray flowers.

Frail bone China,

No value to him.

Displayed in a cabinet.

Pieces and —

Place settings,

Gifted for —

Wedding presents.

She dusted them,

Each week.

Paid him no mind,

Humming hymns.

Ignored him when,

He talked.

She never used to,

She’d laugh,

Join in.

And when they,

Used the China,

At Easter,

Designs of indigo, peach —

Made him sick.

Dizzying, he wanted to —

Wretch.

Just as when ,

He saw her,

With him.

The one she said,

She’d forgotten.

Accepted he’d married,

Moved on.

But his aftershave,

On her skin,

Made him ill,

So he stood,

Starring at the China,

She’d taken out,

To clean.

Piece by piece,

It hit the wall,

Smashing, crashing.

Splinters of it,

Drawing blood.

Until shards of,

Tacky dinnerware,

Only remained.

She screamed,

Wounded like a fledging,

Who fell,

For the first time,

And couldn’t arise,

Never again,

Wings broken.

(Her View)

Tonight’s the night he’s meeting me here later

Passions ignited, we’ve fires, need sating

All the desires of our time together, at last met

I’ll be shaking, moaning, chasing the stars

Caught in the moment, we’ll shatter as glass

Wrapped in your strong arms, I’ll have a blast.

Waiting for tonight, excitement beaming

When you and I are lovers holding,  fast.

——

Preening, applying makeup and shaking

Preparing for you, our first time creating.

Ensuring our night’s perfect; it’ll end complete.

Skin grazingcaressing, nothing sub-par

Lovers busy enjoying repast

Perfect lingerie, beneath a gown fast

Becoming a favourite; it’s perfect and tight

Rip it off, no need to be so classy

——

Waiting for tonight, our love embracing,

Perfection between us, this night for our sake.

I’ve planned it exactly, we’ll not overstep

Each moments vital, at the finale beseech.

Give into our lust, marvel in love far —

Better than any you’ve ever had; here we’ll last,

Until mornings stunning rays of light

I wait for him, he’s mine; trembling, my hands clasp.

——

(His View)

Tonight it came, the nightmare couldn’t wait

She’s obssessed, unstable, any day she’ll break.

Better to stop, was never invested, not set

On staying with her; she’s a whale beached.

Though thin like a beanpole, not nice at all

Loathsome personality, running fast —

Driving passed; her obsession frightening

I was ‘nice’ once or twice, now there’s an impasse.

——

Need freedom, her annoying voice I hate,

Can life be normal again? Not Hell made?

Can I touch the one I love, and not regret

Bringing him into drama; twice I cheated,

Boyfriend enraged; a dumb girl caused my fall.

Told her, “I like men most;” but left aghast —

She doesn’t care, spoiled girl; not smart, no insight,

Traps into engagement; I’ll always pass

We could talk all night,

Babe give up this fight,

We’re gonna work things through,

But nothing’s perfect.

Talking after wine,

The cheapest we can buy,

Saying things we should’ve said,

Long before we actually did.

Smiling but we’re close to tears.

It’s been many years,

But we’re meeting for the first time.

—–

We could talk all night,

Babe, give up this fight.

I’ve lost my job,

There’s bills to pay.

They only give unemployment,

In the longest line.

I’m wasting time, but we need to pay rent,

And your upset at me again.

Smiling but we’re close to tears.

It’s been many years,

But we’re meeting for the first time.

——

We could talk all night,

Babe give up this fight.

My prides wounded,

And we need healing.

It hurts me now to see you cry,

Don’t know what to do,

When everything’s insane in life,

I just kiss your lips and hope.

Smiling but we’re both close to tears.

It’s been many years,

But we’re meeting for the first time.

Poem: “Beautiful for him.”

This is the day before I meet you, this is a day we could remember someday down the road. But lets meet first.

I have showered using fragrant shower gel; I have scrubbed my body and my face. I have shaved and waxed so carefully all to have the smoothest skin you’ve ever touched.

I am slathering myself up in sweet smelling body butter, my toes are a pedicured gold and my fingernails passion pink.

My hair has been washed and conditioned twice, and towel dried before I put my products in (spray in conditioner and moose).

I have blow-dried my hair carefully to get volume in the back. Rolling the brush around my blonde strands before curling them artfully with a curling rod.

My face is tonerized, moisturized, serumized, and I have used makeup primer, there’s no way my makeup is coming off.

I have delicately put on foundation, concealer, and barely there eye shadow. I made my makeup subtle with a light pink lipstick — I don’t want my lipstick to show up on you.

I wanted to look natural because men like their woman not to look overdone. But I know an extra coat of mascara makes my eyes look bigger.

I sprayed on my favourite perfume Chance by Chanel and sprayed my hair loosely in place. Just enough, you can run your fingers through it.

I am dressed casually so it looks as if I didn’t try too hard. But you know that casual is hard work. Well I’ll know, you’ll glance at the time on your phone in the car for the third time. . .

—–

But then, you’ll call to say that we cannot meet today, you are going away. After, I was getting ready for you. To make a good impression.

You said this to me so last minute, I thought maybe you don’t wan’t to meet me for real. But I remembered you said you thought I was cute.

So here am I, dressed up with no place to go. That’s the last time I dress and beautify myself for a man. Next time I’ll only do it for me.

That’s what I say, until the next guy I like…
