#NovemberNotes Day 29/ Saturday Mix: Poem: Free Verse – “Myself Alone” #amwriting #poetry #saturdaymix

For November Notes Day 29 the song Prompt is “Just Hold Me” by Maria Mena. I’m combining the prompt with a second prompt by Sarah from MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie and her Saturday Mix Prompt, Same but Different. We’re using a list of words to inspire is but not using the words in our writing themselves. The words are: party, new, goodbye, resolution, and hope.

” Just Hold Me” By Maria Mena

Why won’t you hold me?

How come it’s so hard?

Let me lie back against you,

I need to here your heart beat.

I need the solid reassurance,

Of each steady breath you take.

Life hasn’t been a celebration of late,

Your forlorn coldness has me breaking.

Your eyes once toffee-soft have gone to stone;

And there’s nothing novel, your affection, your kisses, are merely habit — without meaning.

Rejection and loneliness surround me, there’s no comfortable silence between us.

It’s as if we’re both alone in the same room and —

The coldness of the year’s fresh beginning —

Has made your heart bitter ice.

Why won’t you hold me?

How come it’s so hard?

You know me so well, but somehow not at all.

I tried to hold on, keep praying, to have faith;

But our love is too broken and there’s no going back.

So I slip out the door, I’ve packed everything I own,

You won’t even notice, how empty your home has become.

I set aflame our cherished photographs,

I’ve taken your expensive Scotch;

Hidden your aged red wines in my suitcase,

Stripped the house of life;

Undressed it of every comfort that existed, being us.

I’m going to be brave and I’m going to start again —

I don’t need you to hold me,

Because holding me was a privilege, one you took for granted.

Enjoy your house devoid of us — of lost love and comfort,

For I no longer care about you,

Your icy heart has ensured I’ve learned —

To hold on to myself alone — and hard.

#NovemberNotes Day 24/ Sunday Photo Fiction: Poetry – Free Verse – “Faith and Writing” #amwriting #poetry #flashfiction

For November Notes Day 24 the prompt song is “Like the Wind” by Triosence and Sara Gazarek. I’m combining the prompt with Sunday a Photo Fiction held by Alistair Forbes.

I know it’s more than a month since November Notes ended but I only have six prompts left (this one included) and then I can move on to other things and a more regular blogging schedule in regards to prompts.

Like the Wind” by Triosence Ft. Sara Gazarek

Writing is like the wind,

Spiralling chimes into motion,

It uplifts the tired soul;

As the wind, inspiration can be touched,

It’s ethereal, invisible;

Yet, you sense it as it flies through you — around you;

You can’t say it doesn’t exist as like many things —

It’s a matter of faith;

Supported by first, seemingly tenuous strings that many attempt to ignore —

To dissuade you from;

But although they maybe tenuous, these slender strings are mighty,

Their stout pillars support belief in your God given abilities.

Somehow, talent and imagination swirl and form into the plausible, the possible —

When you close your eyes and write.

Imagination is full of wonder, beauty, joy, and love of creativity flowing —

Winding, spinning as wind chimes sing a chorus.

Faith is the core of everything —

It’s love of God and belief that He guides us,

The symphony director composing, omniscient;

That such as each instrument and voice,

We all have a purpose.

And when our pens and tablets call us,

It doesn’t matter what it’s called;

Just that we know and trust what is greater than us —

The unseen — both in the art of writing and in the vast celestial.

Notable Quotes: Special New Years Edition – January 2018 #pinterest #quotes

Happy New Years! As I put this piece together we have about ten minutes to go in Alberta, Canada. Mother Nature, as she did in many parts of the world, decided to make it more than minus forty degrees Celsius with the wind chill so most of the New Years events here were cancelled.

The fireworks, I believe were still happening, but they were supposed to be earlier this year for families and kids, but I didn’t hear any fireworks popping and crackling yet. I usually do from where we live. Anyways I hope you enjoyed your New Years celebrations tucked snug in your home, at a party, or at New Years events. Wishing you all much happiness and joy.

So, here we go . . . Oh the fireworks have started. 🎉 Some of these quotes are a bit cheeky, as well.

#NovemberNotes Day 9/Saturday Mix: Poem – Shadorma – “Be a Riser” #amwriting #poetry #hope #saturdaymix

For November Notes the Day 9 song is called ” 1-800 – 273 – 8255″ Logic featuring Alessia Cara and Khalid. I reversed the songs for Day 8 and Day 9 so Day 9’s actual song was completed yesterday. As per usual combining prompts with Sarah from MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie Saturday Mix Prompt of a shadorma form poem about emotion.

“1-800 – 273 – 8255” by Logic featuring Alessia Cara and Khalid

—–

“The Shadorma is a Spanish poetic form made up of a stanza of six lines

(sestet)  with no set rhyme scheme.

It is a syllabic poem with a meter of 3/5/3/3/7/5.

It can have many stanzas, as long as each follows the meter” (Popular Poetry Forms).

——-

You’re on the —

Low of life that’s fine,

Just take time,

Realize —

No one can see the future,

Sit down, stay awhile.

—-

Take your time,

Value the time you have,

So your low,

Many more —

Are deeper in dirt than you,

So, rise another day.

——

If you’re here,

You matter a lot,

Building life —

Takes much time,

Nothing is perfect, it hurts,

Rise to the challenge.

—-

You don’t want —

To be alive but —

You don’t know,

What it is

Truly breathing free, inhaling —

Life is tough, rise up.

——

Find your help —

Seek out others to —

Stop the thoughts;

Those anxious,

Murmurs insecure and bleak,

Rise you are not weak.

—–

Emotion’s bleed,

Guy or girl life hurts.

Healing is —

A process.

Don’t quit, don’t give in; fight on —

Sun always rises.

——

Your life is —

Precious but, —

You hear what you feel;

Alone with —

No hope or —

Reason to survive, find faith —

God cares, she cares, rise.

—–

You matter,

You’ll see put down your —

Weapon, don’t inflict —

Dying wounds.

Breath, seek help,

There are phones beyond no home,

Let her in and rise.

——

She wants you —

To feel the light’s glare,

Sunshine with,

Delightful —

Rays of hope; fight on, don’t end —

Your life, rise up, swim.

—–

You don’t want —

To try anymore,

But there’s her,

Heart beating —

Next to yours, so hope, believe,

Rise for tomorrow’s.

—–

Tomorrow,

Never dies, the —

Words are true.

Life is yours,

Your legs tremble so walk on,

Rise, you’re valuable.

—–

Innately you;

Irreplaceable.

If you left,

Her heart would —

Shatter; others too would wonder,

Why such promise fell.

—-

Let them in,

They can’t see inside,

Thoughts rolling,

So fast, get —

Their attention, ask ’til —

Taking their hands you rise.

—-

You want life,

You choose it crying,

Not easy —

To admit,

You want to be alive, not dead,

Rise up, live well.

#OctPoWriMo Day 21/ Photo Challenge: Poem – Free Verse – “Burn Brightly Sun Flower” #photochallenge #poetry

Burn brighter burn free,

Life has rich possibility.

Burn brighter blaze paths.

You can go wherever you must,

Let your soul live, although your experience lacks.

Be an inferno and burn skyward,

With every broken breath;

Endurance is key.

As the most golden sunflowers,

Shine sunny with ease.

Life doesn’t mean your always strong,

It means at times your delapitated,

Destroyed, fire burning out.

But you can rise up, rebuild,

Don’t hide in your space suit,

Embrace the sunflowers, eat their seeds,

Be free of your worries and breath.

You form the mountains,

The ones you must climb.

You know the source of your eternal flame,

You’ll find the emotion, your heart strength, and soul power,

To carry on when you must.

So that even when you’re shattered,

There’s light in your embers;

Fire stirring in yesterday’s cinders.

And you’ll rise up and quiver,

As the flames reach higher;

Although your afraid of being scorched,

Of never rising completely,

Burning brightly is passion to keep pushing forward.

Your life is more than tranquility,

Its a bonfire of fortitude and one long day from now,

Your soul will flutter into eternity;

Your inner flame, your blessed soul,

Lives on by faith, cascading passed a finite world.

Past stumbling rocks,

Toil that made you sweat.

Past your fears and tears,

Beyond to embers reigniting —

Without end.

Burn fierce little girl, the world is yours,

Burn fierce little boy, you’ve many choices.

First, burn brightly in freedom to play and be young,

Love with passion,

With a smile as sunflowers young.

Beam full of laughter,

Fueling your inner fire.

Burn fierce and discover —

Quiet fires run deep,

But will never snuff out,

Into nothingness.

With the depth of soul fire,

Flames extinguished rise,

Are as lively wild fires,

Magnificent sunflowers.

#OctPoWriMo – Day 8/Sunday Prompt: Poem – Free Verse – “Through Hope” #poetry #amwriting

Thanks to Scribblersdip of MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie for hosting her collage Prompt with a Sylvia Plath quote, from October 1, 2017. Also today’s OctPoWriMo Day 8 poem is on the prompt of how do you know.

——

Self discovery questions,

How do we know,

What we know?

How do we find out?

How do you describe the feeling,

Of something intangible?

If someone can’t,

See the invisible,

Having faith, or hope of —

All things we know,

That aren’t tactile, visual,

Or auditory,

If we’re but certain of the sparks —
In our brains,

Is attraction or love real?

Is faith and belief for sure?

We must sail beyond scientific evidence,

Beyond the research, the data.

Believe fairytales and find our —

Joie-de-vivre.

Abstract shocks —

Of beauty and faith,

Filling in holes with —

Puzzle pieces.

We’ll never prove all,

It’s a choice to decide —

What we are not sure about.

To be certain of,

What we don’t see;

That’s how we know,

What we know,

Through hope.

100 Word Wednesday: Poem – Free Verse – “Sing me a Melody” #amwriting #100WordWednesday #poetry

Thanks to Bikurgurl for hosting #100WordWednesday’s on August 16, 2017. Poem for Oneta Hayes of the blog: Sweet Aroma

——-

——–

Sing me a melody,

Write me a song.

Songs of celestial glory.

Of love that’s deep sweet.

Save me from the dark,

Inner demons disguised.

Write for me,

Crystal clear notes,

Ones angels simply respire.

Sing me a melody,

Calm and serene.

Of the cereulan blue sky,

Of hope in eternal life,

And time past misery.

Sing notes cascading,

Sung lentement with —

Unbending trust;

That those in “[D]arkness

Have seen a Great Light.”

Sing me a melody,

Tear drops on cheeks.

Of joy, deliverance —

Of liberty, and grace.

Sing harmoniously,

Or in a caphella.

With light’s pure —

Luminescent brilliance —

Never snuffing out.

Sing me a melody,

As light as air that trills.

Glimmering with sunbeams,

Ringing with care for hope.

Simg of vivacity,

Surpassing the dark of night.

Sing me a melody,

Of healing that restores.

Sing songs of bravery,

Of endurance.

Songs overcoming shadows,

And landing in the dawn.

Sing me a melody,

Bring me sweet relief.

Among beauteous architecture,

For all those times gone by.

Sing me a melody;

Surrounded by the skills,

Of artists and writers

So profound there work,

Sings me alive.

Sing me a melody,

For all I wish for is peace.

In sleep to hear,

Sonorous songs.

Transcendent, complex,

Yet, utterly simple as —

Those words that say,

“Be still.”

Poem: Bop – “For A Spark” #poetry #dVerse #amwriting

Thanks to Paul Scribbles of Poet’s Pub for hosting the #dVerse prompt on “the end.”

———

——–

The end is never the end. It’s always the the beginning of something.” ― Kate Lord Brown, The Perfume Garden

——-

There once was a beginning, but for us, I think;

We never were, until we were, created in a blink.

Once upon a time there was the Word,

The Word was God; It was with Him to be heard.

All was darkness but the Word was the light

The Word was the cure, it was omniscient insight.

Every spark becomes darkness, but His fire brings dawn.

In the first beginning, his light lit uncountable sparks,

That eternal, all-knowing ‘start’ burning through the dark.

Where beginnings take place; journeys are revealed,

Where life is born, ideas form, the masked are unconcealed.

Beginings that inspire and conspire to grow and leap,

Sparks choosing to expire, or to burn on in the deep.

There is the ‘lighter’ of the spark and the ‘spark’ itself;

Knowledge too that sparks turned cinders, have eternal help.

Every spark become darkness, but His spark brings dawn.

Who knows of endings but that they’re already won,

The ‘Candle-snuffer’ futile fights, his end already come.

He decided his ending forever, when our spark was new,

He’s the one temptation slithered, damnation to all construed.

The eternal light is present, no cinders who ask will end up ash,

Faith is fuel that forever burns, so the term ‘end’ has passed.

Every spark becomes darkness, but His spark brings dawns.

Tale Weaver: Poetry – Bop – ” The Forest Sweet” #amwriting #poetry #taleweavers

Thanks to Michael of MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie for hosting this Tale Weaver Prompt based on forest creatures, a couple weeks back.

———

Fly with me to the forest enchanted,

Where all magic life is fair transplanted.

Lacking peace in cities it’s ungranted,

Fly to the faeries for those sweet romantics.

Into the gleaming marsh of enchantment,

Forget  pain with tranquility granted.

Come fly with me, to the magic forest.

You may not believe me, you may not care,

Let me lead, you’ll never be disparaged

Blue birds tweet-talk, sweet advice they share,

Deer bow low, demand fur be stroked right there.

Behind their ears, on their bellies so bared.

Nymphs stunning, gorgeous come out they’re aware,

You’ve paid a visit, they chatter, wine shared,

Ambrosia sweets flow, your body’s repaired

Come fly with me, to the magic forest.

Visit anytime, day or night, be pleased,

Someone’s awake with wine or cold tea.

Faeries they greet with moonshine and they tease

You’ll never admit, this place is your peace,

The magic in your heart, is to believe.

Come fly with me, to the magic forest.
