Beauty: IpsyBag – April 2018 #beauty #Ipsy #makeup #skincare #ipsysocialbutterfly

So here is the fist bag of my new beauty bag subscription from Ipsy.com. The price is right and I received 5 great items and a case. It costs about $15.00 CAN/month and less in the U.S. for about $11.00/month. If you’re interested, here’s the sign up link: HERE.

You can see what I received below:

A gorgeous little butterfly case, designed, and cute for many uses, makeup and beyond.

MudMasky: Facial Detox Purifying Recovery Mask: pH-balanced, pore-refining, hydrating, Anti-aging, brightening, and smoothing. Natural, Paraben Free, Not Tested on Animals — (www.mudmasky.com). -15 ml/0.5 mL sample

A wonderful little mask that, so far, has been great for my skin. It smells nice and leaves skin feeling smooth and brighter, as promised.

IMEECH and MIA: Eyeshadow in COPPER (meechnmia.com) Sample Size.

This shadow has nice pigment. It’s quite sparkly, but a bit too orange for my skin. Nonetheless, a nice eyeshadow product.

Ciate London: Fierce Flicks Black Liquid Liner (ciatelondon.com)1.7 mL/0.05 Fl.Oz. – Full-Sized Product

Great liquid black eyeliner is hard to find. I’ve tried Ciate nailpolish before, but never any makeup. This liner isn’t waterproof, which is my only concern. Nevertheless, it has stayed on well, with awesome pigmented liquid colour, and a felt-tip good for fine or thicker lines.

Trust Fund Beauty: That Liquid Glo Tho – Liquid Highlighter (www.trustfunbeauty.com) – 8 ml/0.27 Fl Oz. – Vegan, Free from Harmful Toxins, Cruelty Free, Ethical and Beautiful – Large Sample Size.

Probably the product I was most looking forward to, but was disappointed. Maybe it was because this liquid highlighter doesn’t blend well with foundation underneath? Or, that the goldish-pink colour is too pale for my skin?

I was hoping to use this as a daily highlighter for a natural glow, or to mix with foundation, but so far, not much luck. I’ll keep trying. I love the packaging, the colour, the brands ethical standards, and product ingredients. But I wish this highlighter was more pigmented and had a better gleam. So far, it barely shows up.

Vasanti Cosmetics: Concealer Buffer Brush. (Worth $23.00 US). Full-Sized.

Lastly, I received a concealer makeup brush. It’s a cheaper brush, to me. The quality that other brushes of the same worth have, isn’t there. However, it’s a good brush to apply powder highlighter on your cheeks, nose, and brow bone.

I don’t think it would stand up well as a concealer brush, due to concealer usually being a wet product, and the bristles of this brush coming out to start. But overall, a great bonus item for the April bag.

#OctPoWriMo – Day 3 – Poem: Cheritas – “Empire Fallen” #amwriting #poetry #metal

For Day 3 of OctPoWriMo the theme is a taste of metal and a poem form called Cheritas

What I really love about Cheritas is that it’s a very loose form. Cheritas are a stanza based form rather than a syllable-based one. It’s really simple: 1 line stanza, 2 line stanza, 3 line stanza. The lines can be any length you choose.

Now for the word prompts: Metals have been associated with everything from alchemy to astrology to chemistry to (the obvious one) geology. Without metal we wouldn’t have much of what we call modern civilization.

When was the last time you tasted metal? Your fork as you ate breakfast? A dental tool? The iron when you bit your tongue? Growing up with braces? What memories and emotions are attached to those moments?”

I had a dream, the tang of copper in my mouth

—-

Alloyes of aluminum and steel, crunching together;

Before the crumpled flattened and I no longer saw the flawed.

——

Until we gazed upon the smooth magnite and tin roof surface,

Of a galleries’ artistic architectural lure;

Metal’s tangy and bitter flavor, would not leave my mouth.

————

Had become a masterpiece, a building for an empire to follow,

—–

The tartness of copper, it’s brownish hue sparkling;

Touches of bronze, silver, gold, to gleam in the morning.

—–

A society of metal, a new age of alloyes beyond scrunched up foil,

A glorious sunset sparkling with warming hues,

Before the rust, the dust, and broken bonds revealed– the empire had fallen.

Poem: Laturnes – ” One Thought”

Wait.

Silent.

Finding faith,

Absorbing warmth,

Climb.

—-

Hike

This trail,

Mountains forge,

Bidding your time,

Soft.

—–

Word

Warning,

Future’s past,

Comfort allowed,

Gift.

—-

Gave,

Sudden,

Startled still,

Whisps of hair,

Streaming around,

Beauty.

—-

Change

Meaning,

Time a beast,

Giving nothing,

Take.

Flash

Silver,

Gleaming Ag,

Elements sign,

Fade.

In

Copper

Kettles of,

Brazen men that,

Fight.

Of

Every

Thought spare one,

Those who fought for

Free.

Day 6: Kelly the Wonder Dog

Her hair blew back in the wind
A smile reached her eyes
For she was Kelly the wonder dog
She pants as she flies

No dog ever went so high
And loved floating up beneath the sky
She gave a bark, then half a woof
And held her paws out with a sigh

Her tale was burnished copper
In-between her spots were white
She was brave and she was mighty
Oh she was out of sight

She laughed the way that doggies do
And howled at the moon
She sailed the treetops in a hot air balloon
And she always felt time passed much to soon

Kelly, the wonder dog
She floated beneath the sky
The bravest dog you ever met
Oh, she’ll fly and fly, and never die

Kelly, the wonder dog
In her balloon
At the zoo
Oh, she’ll fly and fly, and never die.
