A Mixed Bag – Alistair Forbes

“It will never burn. It’s stone and concrete. People don’t build monumental buildings to burn easily these days,” Trent commented.

“Well they used to and this building is pretty old. I’d say it’s eighteen-hundreds,” Chip guesstimated.

“That old?”

“Yeah, I took some art history so I’d know. Burning this building won’t destroy the whole thing, but it will burn a lot of history within. Maybe it’s like the White House when the Canadian’s burnt it in the War of 1812,” Chip said.

“Pffff . . . Canadians aren’t that aggressive,”Trent said.

“Oh yeah well why do you think it’s called the White House? Canadians and British soldiers burnt it and the states had to white wash it after rebuilding some parts; white washing covered up the smoke damage and scorch marks.”

“But wasn’t Canada more a British colony at that point?  So, the fault lies with the British who were leading things,” Trent insisted.

“Many of the soldiers identified as Canadian, Trent, whether or not they were led by Britain; the States shouldn’t have tried to take the Canadas, as upper and lower Canada were known then.”

“Um, that’s a great history lesson but why do you want to burn this building?”

Chip’s eyes grew dark, “Some people just like to watch the world burn; but I’m okay with one building . . . to start.”

March 2016 Makeup Beauty Haul

Hey, I have some new makeup products (new to me) to share with you today for an early March 2016 Makeup Beauty Haul. I hope you enjoy the piece and maybe even find you take a look at some of these products when you’re at the Drugstore/Sephora/ or shopping for makeup online. The first couple products I have to share with you are from a brand called Smashbox.

March-Smash Box Under Eye Primer
Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer (www.sephora.ca)

1. Smashbox Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer – (www.sephora.ca) – $32.00 Canadian.

I have found Smashbox products to be ‘touch and go’ for me. Smashbox was one of the first makeup brands to come out with a face primer to make your make up last longer. A facial primer is vital if you are a woman whose makeup melts off all the time by 5:00 pm or you want your makeup to last all night long. If you are trying to smooth out imperfections on your face (such as pores and blemishes) before putting onfoundation or BB Cream, face primer is also useful. Although, Smashbox primers feel nice on my skin, I hated wearing the original Smashbox face primer  more than a day because my skin would break out due to the oiliness of the face primer. Despite the fact the makeup counter lady who recommended it to me, said it would help makeup stop melting off my then oiler skin. Smashbox has improved on their original face primer. You can find Photo Finish primer in Primer Light, Colour Correcting Foundation Primer, Hydrating Foundation Primer,  More than Primer Blemish Control, and Oil Free Foundation Primer Pore Minimizer. I have tried most of them in a samples kit except the last one which would probably be the best one for my skin type. Nonetheless, I wasn’t impressed with any of the other face primers in this brand. Most of them cost around $50.00 in their biggest size. As a side note, I much prefer a primer that I use from Benefit. I use POREfessional face primer. It smooths out and fills in your face creating an ideal base for makeup and is light enough that it doesn’t make a person with oily or combination skin break out, even in the heat of Las Vegas. Even though I’m not a fan of Smashbox’s face primers, I have found that the Hydrating Under Eye Primer by Smashbox, works wonders.

Photo Finish Hydrating Under Eye Primer is amazing. I love this product because it is a light product you apply under your eyes and it hydrates that delicate skin, and it also acts as a fantastic under eye primer. I find this product useful because as I’ve complained before, my mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow –you name it — comes off my eyes, even when I wear waterproof eye makeup, because the skin around my eyes is oily. This Smashbox under eye primer stops these other products I’m wearing on my eyes from travelling all over the place under my eyes so I don’t look a raccoon by the end of the day. As well, the concealer I apply under my eyes stays put when I use this primer underneath. My dark circles stayed covered so I’m a happy woman.

This under eye primer by Smashbox  I like and would recommend it to you if you want an eye-cream and under eye-primer in one tube to keep your eye makeup and concealer in place day or night. A bit of this product goes a long way. I have a tiny 0.17 fl. oz. tube of it and it has lasted me longer than a year and I use it every morning.

2.Smashbox Full Exposure Waterproof Mascara – (www.beautyboutique.ca) -$25.00 Canadian.

I decided to try Smashbox Full Exposure Waterproof Mascara on a whim. I had to spend a

March- Smashbox Full Exposure Waterproof Mascara

certain amount of money to use my Optimum Points over Christmas and I wanted to use them instead of paying cash, so I quickly chose this mascara. I’m always on the eternal search for the best waterproof volumizing mascara. Although, I an fond of the Dior Black Out Mascara I was using before, I disliked how it smudged around my eye area. The colour was vivid  black  which I adored. Smashbox’s Full Exposure Waterproof Mascara is nothing special, it is comparable to many mascara’s in the $25 to $35.00 price range. I better buy would be a Clinique Volumizing mascara which is a few dollars cheaper and still waterproof. Mascara ends up around my eye area a bit, with this mascara but I am easily able to clean it up with a Q-tip. I use it over a non-waterproof mascara that I love called Hello Lashes by IT cosmetics. It has the perfect mascara want to reach all your tiny lashes and it is a 5 in 1, clinically proven mascara that has made my eyelashes licker. To me, the Full Exposure mascara is merely a second coat of mascara that works so the mascara I wear underneath, will stay on my lashes and become waterproof.

Additionally, I have tried this Smashbox mascara alone and it’s not bad but not great either. My lashes look decent, longer, volumized, and the brush is nice and thick. But I’m not so thrilled about Full Exposurr mascara. The product didn’t capture me. The $9.00 L’Oreal mascara I use sometimes, would do the job just as well to make my favourite IT cosmetics mascara waterproof, and as mascara on it’s own.  If you purchase Full Exposure, you won’t hate it, but I don’t think you’d love it either because it’s not worth $25.00. Luckily, I paid in Optimum points.  I couldn’t find this mascara on the Sephora website. I only found the same kind in the non-waterproof product. You will have to look at Ulta in the states if you still want to truth is mascara after my so-so review of it.

3.Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Intense Black – (www.beautyboutique.ca) – $29.00 Canadian

March - Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner
Stila All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner, Intense Black (www.beautyboutique.ca)

This waterproof eyeliner by Stila was also an Optimum points purchase made this month at Shoppers Drug Mart. I was so disappointed because Lancôme changed their Liquid Artliner formula and I have been using it for six-faithful-years. The  Artliner product Lancome made to replace my old favourite with is see-through, the brush doesn’t pick any sign of black liner and the colour I picked was noir. Also, the new Artliner took forever to dry on my lash line.

I went into Shopper’s Drug Mart searching for a new eyeliner. I was looking at some Quo liquid liners trying decide if I wanted a thicker or thinner eyeliner line, when the lady at the makeup counter said: “Here, try the Stila Black Liquid Eyeliner, it’s a customer favourite.” I was not going to buy another Stila liner because I tried Stila’s old Liquid liner that was in the form of a felt tip liquid liner and I wasn’t happy. The black liner wasn’t black enough and the liquid inside the tube wasn’t liquidy enough for a liquid eyeliner to form a line at the lash line well. The makeup lady showed me on my hand the boldness of this black liner and how much better it worked than Stila’s first eyeliner offering. She was one-hundred-percent -right. The new Stila All Day Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner in Intense Black is amazing. I can make a thick or a thin line with the felt tip. The liner stays on and doesn’t smudge off, but at the same time it is easy enough to make a correction with a little bit of concealer on a Q-tip, to straighten your line or make it thinner for example. I’m glad I used my points on this product, it is super. And the makeup lady at Shoppers Drug Mart said the liquid liner would last around five or six-months which is longer than my old liner lasted me and at a cheaper price point. Beauty Boutique has about seven colours online of Stila waterproof liquid liners, including black. I’m not sure if the other colours are as vibrant, but I’d be willing to try them based on my experience with the Intense Black liner.

3. Benefit Longwear Powder Shadow in Call My Bluff – (www.beautyboutique.ca) – ($26.00)

I bought this colour of shadow around a year and a half ago for a particular reason. Every

March -Benefit Longwear Powder Shadow in Call My Bluff
Benefit Longwear Powder Shadow in Call my Bluff (www.beautyboutique.ca)

once and awhile, I purchase an eyeshadow pallete. I like to use browns a great deal because they causr blue eyes to pop. The problem is with whatever brand of palette I buy, it would only have one light-skin coloured eye shadow in the palette a woman could use as a base or highlighter colour (depending on your skin tone).

I only use darker colours (especially browns) to darken my crease, make my lid a bit darker, and/or on a night out, when I might dip into blackish brown or dark-purplish shadows for some depth and/or s smokey eye.

My point is, there is never enough base colour when you wear brown eyeshadows ot buy brown eye shadow palettes. This Call my Bluff colour is the perfect colour to use when you have gone through that one light colour in the palette you used for a base colour or highlight. Benefit eyeshadow has excellent pigment. The eyeshadow lasts a long time, and you will get your money’s worth because you can use this shadow with any palettes you purchase that no longer have that light -skin coloured hue of eye shadow — whether the palette contains, more Browns, purples, or pinks which  appear to be in this Spring. There are also other colours available in Thr Long Wear Shadow, if you prefer individual eye shadows to palettes for a great eye shadow look. Benefit has about ten colours available in this eye shadow line on the Beauty Boutique website.

4. Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Pink Pout 002 Matte and in Silver City Pink 405 Pearle – (www.ulta.com) – $7.99 US

Revlon - Silver City Pink
Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick – Silver City Pink (405) Pearl (www.ulta.com)

I also bought these lipsticks with Optimum points at Shopper’s Drug Mart after Christmas. I was looking for some everyday lipstick colours, near my natural lip colour that didn’t come off easily. I thought originally that higher-end makeup brands such as NARS or Two Faced would meet the requirement: that the lipstick needs to stay on your lips as long as possible, but even though I love the colours I bought from those two brands they hardly stay on my lips more than a couple of hours. I knew Revlon had good lipstick because I used their lipstick in high school. I have never been big into lipstick, until a bit lately. I think I have maybe five or six all together but these two shades from Revlon are beautiful and they stay on your lips without wearing off quickly. Since my lips have a blue undertone, the colour Pink-Pout is almost exactly the same as my lip colour it is only matte and a bit more purply. It is my favourite shade because it goes with everything.

March - Revlon PInk Pout
Revlon Lustrous Lipstick – Pink Pout (002) Matte (www.revlon.ca)

The second colour I picked up was Silver City Pink and it is a lighter pink and is shimmery with a Pearl finish. It is great lipstick for in the day and also when I want a lip that is pink but a bit more glitzy. So far I have found the best lipstick is cheap. I don’t know about Dior or Chanel lipstick. One day, I might try one of their lipsticks Maybe it stays on even better, but I’m not huge into lipsticks in makeup. I would prefer to spend more money on other products which are worth buying to make your skin, healthy, and young looking. Plus, I hate having to reapply lipstick all the time. So look at Ulta or in your local drugstore for Revlon Super Lustrous Lipsticks.

Thanks for taking the time to read about these products I’ve tried. Hopefully, you’ll take a look at them if not purchase one or two of them yourself next time you need a few beauty items.

A Clerihew is a comic verse consisting of two couplets and a specific rhyming scheme, aabb invented by Edmund Clerihew Bentley (1875-1956) at the age of 16. The poem is about/deals with a person/character within the first rhyme. In most cases, the first line names a person, and the second line ends with something that rhymes with the name of the person.

Sunday Photo Fiction: A Perfect Wife

I never thought I would be one to travel a great deal but I had been all around Europe this past year. Now, I was staying at a hotel in Amsterdam. On my way to get coffee, I noticed a man following me. He was dressed well and reminded me  of a how the Italian`s dressed, very sharp and expensive.

I remained in the crowds trying to lose my tail and I worked my way back to my hotel room. I thought I was safe in my hotel but my hands were grabbed and tied behind me as  I opened my suitcase. I was pulled over my stalkers shoulder and eventually placed in the back seat of a car.

” Sit back, Natasha, relax. I would never hurt you,”  my kidnapper reasoned.

” Then why would you kidnap me?” I yelled at the stranger.

” Mama says I need a wife and I want a pretty Canadian wife. I have lots of money. Plus, look at me? I’m hot you are lucky to have me for a husband.”

I tried the locks on the doors.” I want to go back to my hotel now. I have a fiance, I don’t need a husband.” I lied.

The man laughed at me and reached back to pat my arm. “I will make you forget about him.”

” I don’t want to be your wife!” I scream.

The man shrugged. ” My Mama and I picked you out in Florence. You helped a little boy find his lost parents and Mama said ‘She’s your wife.’ Mama is never wrong.”

I shuddered.

Writing 101: Day 12 – Being Thankful and Shopping Sales.

Prompt: Critique something.
I know that Black Friday is coming. Last year I avoided it, most of my Christmas shopping was done by that point. But from online shopping emails,  I noticed how great the deals were from both Canadian and American stores. I remember going to Banana Republic Canada’s website and seeing all clothes were 50% off. That hardly ever happens at Banana Republic! The best price you can get is 40 % off and that’s not often. In fact, it was odd to me that Canadian websites and stores were giving deals that were so good on Black Friday and they were better then the Canadian equivalent, Boxing Day deals. I like to shop, that’s not a lie. But I also have this part of conscience that is telling me that whether we are shopping crazily on Black Friday Week or Boxing Week, we are missing the point of the holidays these shopping marathons are based around.

The largest difference between Canadian and US Thanksgiving is when we hold our festivities. Canadians celebrate the second Monday in October and Americans the third weekend in November. But I know for both nations, it is a time for us to be thankful for all God has provided us with in our lives. For the plenty we have in our wants and needs. We remember so many do not have ‘plenty’ in other places in the world. We give thanks to be alive and for the relative peace we find living in our countries, especially when places so close to our hearts such as Paris, are attacked by terrorists. We eat large meals and see our family, whom we may not see all year. But to be specific, Wikipedia tells me, the first thanksgiving was celebrated in the US after the pilgrims first harvest in the New World in 1621. The feast lasted three days and in attendance were fifty three pilgrims and ninety Native Americans. In Canada, we simply celebrate the harvest and other blessings of the past year during our Thanksgiving celebration. But I wonder how such a time of thankfulness has become a shopping race, to find the best deals. To think of all we ‘want,’ instead of all we have.

Every Black Friday or Cyber Monday we see Americans literally fighting over electronics and grabbing items from each other as if they were toddlers. People are pushy, loud, and not nice to each other. They think that if they act how they act, they’ll get all the items they want. It is all about “me” and “I” or “my family.” I have to say it is worse on Black Friday in the US, worse then it ever gets in Canada even though Black Friday is gaining force here. But I’m not sure deals will be as great this year with the fall of the Canadian dollar from near parity.

What ever happened to being a decent person, sharing, and being thankful for what you have? You may get a great deal but at what immoral price? What are you teaching the younger generations when you gorge on food, say that everyone should be thankful, then push and shove in Victoria Secret over a bra, of which you have ten or more? Or, was it worth it to battle through bodies and buy a TV at a hundred dollars saving?

I know some of you Black Friday shoppers are kind. And that every person just wants nice things for their families or theirselves at a good price. Maybe you can only afford certain items on sale, so these shopping days are important. Things are pretty tame in Canada but there is always the exception. And it’s just my point of view, but I wonder how being thankful and all this merchandising, advertising, and worked up shoppers fit together.

In Canada, we celebrate Boxing Day after Christmas. It’s origins lie in people boxing up their leftover food from Christmas meals for the poor. But instead, we shop with our gift cards and Christmas money for more of what we have, for stuff, instead of celebrating family and Jesus’ birth; instead of celebrating people being together. I just find it a bit difficult, putting Christmas and shopping hauls together. I still shop and I still celebrate with my family. But I try to remember that when I’m out buying merchandise there is a way to treat other shoppers with respect, not like they’re the competition. I remember that buying stuff is fun but only temporary. “You can’t take it with you when you go,” as the saying goes.Whether you can buy a lot of things or hardly afford any, in death we leave all our junk behind.  We need to remember that there  are people who can’t afford are grand celebrations at Thanksgivings and Christmas. We need to give money and our time to those in need. To give presents to kids whose parents can’t afford, or food to the family who can only go to the food bank.

I think if we were more thankful we could see how it is for some people to have so little, while we have a lot. For some people a tiny gift or a helping hand is worth so much. Little things like God, family, good friends, and health should matter the most. Without them all the ‘things’ in the world are worthless. So, be happy if that is what you have and if your basic needs are met. Happy Thanksgiving Americans and start of the holiday season for many of us. May you be thankful and gentle when you shop and generous with your time and donations to those less fortunate. May you cherish the life you have because you’re a priceless person to many people you know and loved very much.

Random Friday Post

www.amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com

I had big plans this Friday, to read through 2 chapters in my Study Guide for Editing 110 as well as some of the additional reading that is recommended in the Study Guide such as reading about punctuation, spelling, and hyphenation in the textbook. Not to mention, there are added readings at the back of the Study Guide. As I surmised yesterday, I had high hopes of finishing all of this reading but in reality, I am only probably going to be able to finish the textbook reading if I concentrate on it. The textbook is a great guide, something I think I will treasure as I continue to edit. It is called The Copyeditor’s Handbook, 3ed. and it is written by Amy Einsohn. The caption on the book reads that it is ” [a] guide for Book Publishing and Corporate Communications” and it includes exercises and an answer keyIs it wrong to love your textbook? To drink in every word as if it were ambrosia. But I think I have found a career I want to do tremendously, along with writing. Plus, it is a career I can do freelance so I’m looking forward to the future. So, please don’t mock me for loving my textbook.

Also, I received a couple LUSH products today that I can’t wait to do a beauty blog on for you. I wanted to treat myself and a

wonderful smelling body wash and a great hair mask which are naturally made, are great ways to do that. I purchased LUSH’s Prince Charming Shower Gel in the 500 ml size which include “fresh pomegranate” and “grapefruit oil” and Marilyn a hair mask that is a “pre-wash for blonds who want lighter, brighter hair.” I was a bit bummed they did not have my H’Suan Wen Hua hair mask because I love its cinnamony spicy smell but I have tried the Marilyn mask before too and it is pretty great. So, in the future look for a blog on these 2 fine products. I am especially excited about the body

wash, I love smelling great out of the shower and using a product that just wakes you up.

I also wanted to mention to you this great trilogy of books I am reading, or trying to read, because it’s hard to study and have good books to read both at once. They are by Sylvain Reynard and she is romance writer but a Canadian writer to my great happiness and what I really love about this series is her love of and knowledge of Dante and his literature The Inferno and how it contributes to the overall tone and characters of the book. The books are about a a 23-year old Master student named Julia who is studying her Master’s in Toronto. She has the talented Dante specialist Dr. Gabriel

www.amazon.com
http://www.amazon.com

Emerson as her teacher for one of her classes. Gabriel is not only her professor but the older brother of one of her best friend’s and the son of  a now dead second mother to her, Grace.

Year’s ago when she was 17-year old, she and Gabriel spent a romantic night together in the apple orchard and they both thought they were the love of each other’s life. But then Gabriel disappeared and Julia got lost in the woods and they never saw each other again until Julia had Professor Emerson for her class, but he doesn’t recognize her. The story goes on from that point and there are 3 books in the series and I am 3/4 through the 2nd book. The first book is called Gabriel’s Inferno, the second book is called Gabriel’s Rapture, and the third books is called Gabriel’s Redemption. If you are into romance kinds of books I urge you to read these and am pleased to say Sylvain Reynard is a great writer and storyteller even if she is telling a typical romance tale. It might also interest you to see what a Canadian writer can do as compared to some of her American counterparts. I think she does an awesome job and in many cases tells a better story.

The last item I would like to tell you about in my Friday Random post is that I’m going to the Opera with my parents this Saturday night for opening night of the Opera Die Fledermaus, Revenge of the Bat. I am excited for it because it is supposed to be a funny opera. This is what it’s about:

Gabriel von Eisenstein has been sentenced to a fortnight in jail, but his confinement is preceded by an evening of mistaken identity. At a masked ball, two old flames reunite and flirtations occur between a woman and her husband who don’t recognize each other. One man’s elaborate plan for revenge results in a comedy of errors, accompanied by some of opera’s most catchy music.

So, it should be a good time. I am able to dress up and have a little wine at intermission and the opera sounds great.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Say Something Beautiful

Say something beautiful . . . sometimes I think I have been ruined by Romance books because real men don’t talk beautiful, at least the ones I know. Ask them to explain why they like you and its simple words such as your pretty, your patient, your sexy, and there is nothing wrong with these words. But I just don’t think men talk as Christian Grey when he describes his Anastasia and her beauty or even how singers sing about women in songs. In fact, most of us don’t seem to have much poetry in us when it comes to love. But I think that the simple words are good enough because it is the simple words and simple actions that men and women say and do for each other that make us the happiest.

Case in point, My boyfriend A took me on ” a date” a couple of weeks ago and it was special just because he called it “a date, ” he picked me up, and he was interested to hear what I had to say. He wasn’t on the couch looking at Kijiji going “uh huh” but he took the time to actually focus on us and what we were both up to, it was wonderful. We ate dinner and shopped around West Edmonton Mall a bit and I really appreciated the evening.

Everything was going fantastic until he received a bad haircut from some hairstylist at Spasation. I felt bad because I had suggested the salon because I have a membership card that gets me 10% off of products and services at Spasation. Plus, I like the Spasation downtown a lot. They give good massages, and decent haircuts, and wonderful pedicures. But if I’m honest, I go to a place called Chrome to get my hair cut and hilighted because they just do a better job, so I guess it’s my fault and I shouldn’t have sent my boyfriend to the West Edmonton Mall Spasation. I should have said, “Go to Eveline Charles because at least your guaranteed to receive a decent haircut at that salon even though it costs more.” But other than that, it was a good evening and it is a lucky break that men’s hair seems to grow fast because it is so short.

My boyfriend also became a Canadian citizen yesterday. I was proud but sorry I couldn’t be there to see him receive his certificate. He is excited to receive his passport and travel somewhere outside of Canada and Morocco where he is from.  I am hoping I can go with him on vacation but I will have to see. I’m still on a budget, especially at this time of year after Christmas and Boxing Week.

I felt awful for my poor dog Nikki who is an American – Eskimo Terrier. She is 12-years old and we thought she just had arthritis because she ran great distances with family members when she was younger and faster. Then, her paws underneath her elbows and knees (I don’t know what you call them in dogs) began to swell up enormously. She had trouble walking and spent so much time just sleeping downstairs and not even touching her food. The swelling didn’t go away and finally we brought her to the vet and the vet said it could be arthritis or Lyme disease. We got blood tests and it turns out it is not Lyme disease or something with her kidneys (etc.) but she has Rheumatoid Arthritis.

This is a relief because it means my family did not over-run her but it is also upsetting because it is an auto-immune disease, so her immune system is attacking her joints and causing them to inflame. She has to be on steroids when her arthritis acts up, painkillers, and a vet is going to teach us how to do doggy physiotherapy for her. I imagine I will be doing this physiotherapy in the day because she lets me touch her paws and she doesn’t let a lot of other people, even her pack (the rest of the family), touch all of her. But at least we know what she has and can manage it appropriately. I hope that she doesn’t get too arthritic. She comes from dog breeds who both are long living breeds so she could have this for 6 to 8 more years unfortunately.

I am using a new sleep medication called Gabapentine. It works well once you get use to it. I was taking too much melatonin to fall asleep because that was the only medicinal product that worked but now after getting used to Gabapentine and getting over the initial day time tiredness, I love it. I had forgotten how good it is to sleep so deeply and well. Commonly, Gabapentine is used for patients who have seizures to help them sleep deeper but it is more for the drowsy side effect that I am using it. And so far so good. But I haven’t heard anything from my family doctor about the Chronic Fatigue medication yet so hopefully I hear back from him soon, when he gets back from vacation next week.

I want to deal with side effects of the Chronic Fatigue medication you see because I have just received all but my text-book for my Editing 110 course. So far the course looks great! It won’t be to hard but if I finish early, I will start another course. I mailed in the first assignment that is worth 10 % and I have 3 more assignment worth 30 % and a great deal of reading to do in my Study Guide and textbook eventually. The assignments don’t look too hard, but it is only a 100 level course. However, I better not say too much about it being an easy course because I do not want to jinx myself and then not be careful when I am doing my assignments. I need a B- in all of these editing courses I will be doing because that is the requirement to get the certificate. I will take a few courses before I apply to the program, maybe even most of the courses because you can apply anytime for the certificate.

But editing seems quite interesting and I was already learning a lot of material I’d forgotten looking up why certain sentences were grammatically and otherwise incorrect. I have a good deal of experience proofreading and I think it will just be a matter of watching that I am careful to be detailed and learning all those interesting facts about the editing process which will maybe help me publish a book one day, or some articles, or a story or two.

This weekend, I am looking forward to going to lunch with my friend and giving her her Birthday/Christmas present. I saw her lots in the summer but not often since then. We are going to the new Cactus Club downtown. I must make sure to eat healthy as my new sleep medication made me put weight on as I suspected. So it’s back to measuring food and living off of salad. But I will be much more comfortable in my skin when I am 10 lbs down again, so will my clothes lol. I also have to see my boyfriend again as he is up and bring him his new stuff for his apartment. I ordered him some towels (etc.) and items that he needed. And I’m looking forward to receiving my ” New Year’s Present,” but I don’t know what that is so I’m waiting in anticipation.

Take care, that’s all for now!
