Poem: Etheree – “Damage of Heart Break”

——-

Sometimes it’s easier to write poetry when,

You’re not counting syllables yet I,

Find there’s no rhythm when you don’t,

Not enough words to describe life,

At times it’s a gong show,

I can’t seem to win,

Change can be hard,

Learning curve,

Growth hurts,

Stings,

Eyes,

Blind to,

Such patterns,

Never learning,

Experience, leaves burns,

Never healing on your body,

Not salvaging the heart scars,

Heart yearns for an echo, one whose,

Heart shares its rhythm, no absence found,

By others who damaged our souls, hearts, skin.

—-

Perhaps, it begins, subtle opening.

Free time amazing, loneliness still,

Staying away from danger, they,

Who suck you dry for one night,

Leave without even notes,

Boxing the night into,

Their life pattern,

No loving,

Just sweat,

Lies,

——

Come

Undone,

Eventually,

You’ll get bee stung,

Learning that you hurt,

With each bed sheet stumble,

Never having anyone there,

Returning home to empty rooms,

Shadows flickering in lamplight glows,

Home alone, no face taking her visage.

—–

Woman who broke your heart, beat your soul dead.

So you do the same to other women,

Leaving them lost, confused, tormented,

Promises you made never came,

Long gone you keep playing,

Filling up empty,

Strainer has holes,

You can’t fix,

Got to

Learn.

—-

Try,

Let her,

See a man,

Not merely bent,

Willing to work through it,

To let the path waters,

Flow, guide through trepidation,

Steps you must take for perdition,

Coming alive, fire consumes through pain,

Living life, though it hurts so good loving.

Poem: Senryu – “Listen Hear.”

—–

Complexities heard,

Words of a relationship,

The hearts tongue ignored.

—-

Listen entranced, try —

Yearning love, sounds amplified,

Your voice, a torch burns.

—–

Hear me out, absorb.

No telling, my words shocked you,

I said: listen — hear — boy!

Poem: “Rise Above It All”

http://www.gailbrenner.com

Fire and frost, polar opposites it seems. One scorches earth, the other freezes everything. Nothing rises up from ice, it keeps what is frozen hostage.

But like a Phoenix rises from a pile of embers and ash, people rise above the flame. They live and breathe to inhale tomorrow’s life.

And what of our scorched remains? We scatter our dead upon open seas, in graveyards, and they sit on the mantles above the fireplace.

When I die scatter me in the wind, of somewhere mythical and gorgeouse. Scatter my ashes in Edan; for a moment maybe the angel guardian will let you in.

For that angel, holds a sword with fire eternally. Perhaps, he’ll recognize a twin flame, a Phoenix, rebuilding, as you scatter me softly.

Maybe he is entranced by fire like you. Fire burns and hurts; a cool glass of water will quench an unbearable thirst. And turned to ice, water will make you unmovable at absolute zero.

But fire can burn through ice. It melts what is solid and still; let the rising of the firey bird begin. No ice will keep her captive. She is a survivor, the mistress of the flame.

She might burn you with her, but she’ll bring you back to life. When you wander streets in daylight and when you are at your absolute worst – you can rise out of the ashes.

You can be a Phoenix too, atleast in human terms. What bird once destroyed, is reborn in mythical elegance? If the Phoenix teaches you anything,  let it be — always rise above it all.

When everything is darkest, you are at your best– a Phoenix bursting into flame will light the path your footsteps should reflect.

And when the light grows dimmer and ashes are so still, let them lye. The Phoenix is not like us, her ashes need not be scattered.

She will arise a Queen undefined and undefiled. She is the victor of the battle in Hades. She rises and breaks through, she forges, and she fights.

She is a mythical powerful and glorific bird, red as the fire in which she burns. She overcomes and lives always, to rise above it all.

May you be like a Phoenix, don’t let life pull you down.May you rise out of the ashes of life an unquenchable fire.

Give everything your all; strengthen your character with wisdom. Learn to battle and to pick your fights for the Phoenix is always reborn; you die once.

And like anyone rich or poor you will end up in a box or urn. So, scatter me, scatter you, to the wind so we may burn and be reborn on the flights of rain, embers in a drop; a miracle formed.

Poem: Tonight

There is no where to go; when you can only say ‘no.’And look down the street knowing you’ll never go that way.

When a desire to say ‘yes’ leaves quietly, and hides in the chamber of the soul. I think too much and write to pour, misery into the air, to see it dissipate.

Come out tonight, it use to be my delight; now I can’t even drink wine alone, without the proper wine opener.

And I’d be glad to spend some time among friends; but life now has a harsher bent. And living feels so alone.

It would deplete me to go out, for just an hour or two; the minute I can’t handle it  I start to feel sick.

The moon is in the sky, a lunar delight; it covers my tears, and holds my fears. And it is my ill, the night.

The stars sparkle vividly; they’re bright spots of joy. But I haven’t seen them, it’s been far too long.

Fire in the nightmare sky, in the breeze, in the house; fire yearns to build up and burn through everything.

But kept in quiet places, fire can only heat the coals of a life, lost before, it was ever born. It simmers out to ash.

Unravel life, it’s too complicated, to fix my soul, to fix my body; I’m thirty-years-old tired and worn.

So, if stay at home again tonight. While the world is alive and I’m still as twilight. I will not mourn, it was never my night.

I’m not the same as I was before, times have changed and barely do I see the sky in blinding starlight.

I’m use to indoor lights that flick off and say goodnight, sleep well, or suffer more.
