Lady Antebellum – “You Look Good”

——

You are the fire in my veins in this old,

Noisy bar, my movement, steps foretold,

Before I ever meet you face to face,

We move ’round each other tightly embraced.

Dance floor our Haven sparks zing and our lips —

Meet and you moan, no we’re hip to hip.

Baby you look good all day and all night.

Spinning me on the dance floor with such ease,

Tonight is a night I feel, we’ll both be pleased.

Holding me so close we brush against lust,

Back and forth, taking me home, a must!

Cab is slow, we want to be alone,

With each other and love’s unquiet love moans.

Not too fast, just take it nice and slow,

The sunlight reigns but we will not let go.

Baby you look good all day and all night.

Will you call? The waiting game is played,

Three nights and I’m aching, you remain,

First in my thoughts so finally I call.

You’re not there, then you are, my problem solved.

How about a repeat, how ’bout a lifetime?

Let’s be us, baby yours and just mine.

Baby you look good all day and all night.

Mom kept telling Autumn to stop playing in the water which had puddled into massive shallow lakes at school.”No Autumn, you’ll get your clothes and shoes all wet and you’ll come home and say how your feet are cold because you refuse to wear your rubber boots,”

Autumn gave her Mom a Cheshire grin, “It’s okay Mom, I brought extra clothes and shoes.” But Mom only frowned and forbid Autumn to jump in the puddles.

As with many children, forbidding them not to do something, ensures they will do that something. So when Autumn and her friends arrived at school and saw the giant puddles which rose to the middle of their calves, they splashed in the puddles all day.

Autumn came home on the school bus and her mother gasped. Her daughter was soaked straight through. Even her second set of clothing and shoes were wet. She was going to yell at Autumn but seeing the exhilarated smile on Autumn’s face, decided to forgo the chastisement today. After all, the puddles would be around for a while.

Words deserted her as fire shot across the sky. She welcomed sunrise casting brilliant light into the dawn, while purple-tinged clouds of white still held wisps of night’s inky black guise.

Beautiful sunrises were evocative for her and could easily bring forth a memory. They had the power to make her eyes hunger and delight, to forget her words. A sunrise’s influence kept her caught in a distinct moment of enjoyment, while at the same time, lost in thought.

The rising sun also inspired prayers of thankfulness. It was a raw moment in nature, primordial to her being. No matter what she was experiencing in life, the sunrise momentarily healed her. Sunlight glazing across the dawn sky mended her body, alleviated her suffering.

Above all she thought, the hope a sunrise brought was vital. Each day it rose, she was graced with another day to do better and be better. To her, this sense of hope was most profound. It was why she cried, tasting the salt of her tears, as the sun finished it’s ascent.
