Wise Enough” by Lamb

—–

I dreamt time was running wild and bleeding out quick.

Comets falling from the sky, I had such grave nightmares.

Waking up I saw, how precious is the time we have here,

I realized no one here is wise enough to give all they are.

——

Comets falling for the sky, I had such grave nightmares.

Are we bright enough to outshine celestial starlight,

I realized no one here is wise enough to give all they are.

In each of us, is someone we don’t know, who is too lost.

——-

Are we bright enough to outshine celestial starlight,

We have multiple chances times to make a small difference,

In each of us, is someone we don’t know, who is too lost.

You’re real, no one else has your world role, your unique gifts.

——

We have multiple chances, times to make a small difference,

Frightened of the dawn, I brush stardust from my blurry eyes.

You’re real, no on else has your world role, your unique gifts.

Desist wasting time, letting years pass abandoned.

—–

Frightened of the dawn, I brush stardust from my blurry eyes,

What is our purpose here? Stop killing our time dear.

Desist wasting time, letting years pass abandoned,

In our power is changing the world ’til our dying day.

—–

What is our purpose here? Stop killing our time dear,

Waking up I saw how precious is the time we have here.

In our power is changing the world ’til our dying day,

I dreamt time was running wild and bleeding out quick.

Pantoum Poetry Form:

The design is simple:

Line 1

Line 2

Line 3

Line 4

Line 5 (repeat of line 2)

Line 6

Line 7 (repeat of line 4)

Line 8

Continue with as many stanzas as you wish, but the ending stanzathen repeats the second and fourth lines of the previous stanza (as its first and third lines), and also repeats the third line of the first stanza, as its second line, and the first line of the first stanza as its fourth. So the first line of the poem is also the last.

Last stanza:

Line 2 of previous stanza

Line 3 of first stanza

Line 4 of previous stanza

Line 1 of first stanza

Poem – Quaterns – “You Are Not The Girl” #poetry #amwriting

Credit: Marcus Baccatti – http://www.pinterest.com

*****

You are not the girl I always knew,

The person I was most like, you flew –

No longer my number two,

You’re the girl I defended too.

—–

At every step abandoned I grew,

You are not the girl I always knew.

You say one thing, you’re actions show,

You’re not a dependable though.

——

I disattach so you won’t hurt,

Make the marks of neglect so curt.

You are not the girl I always knew,

I relied too much on you it’s true.

——

You’re not such a good person, though —

I put you on a pedestal, so –

I took care of you, and trusted you,

You are not the girl I always knew.

******

You are not the girl I always knew,

Life it changed, with it we both grew –

Forced apart at first by you, then thrown,

Hurt so much, but I’ve always known –

—–

I can’t completely trust you through –

You are not the girl I always knew.

So involved in yourself, stopped thinking,

Stopped caring, it made my soul shrink

——

To think of where life takes us, knowing —

One day you’ll leave, forever going.

You’re not the girl I always knew,

You just look like her, there are few –

—–

Who could ever replace this girl,

But she is stuck in her own world.

Changes, hoping friendship renews,

You are not the girl I always knew.

Flash Fiction for the Aspiring Writer: The Banshee #amwriting #writing #flashfiction

Maizie stared at the neighbouring property to her parents cabin. For as long as she could remember, the property had been deserted.

Growing up, Maizie and her two brothers would create possible stories about what happened to the people who lived in the ruins of the old cabin.

“It was a shark, one as big as Jaws,” her younger brother Rupert said.

“It had to be bigger than a shark and fiercer,” said her eldest brother Richard.

The possible stories continue until they were all three, young teenagers.

“I dare you to go out to the haunted cabin,” Richard told Maizie.

“Come on,”Rupert teased her.

Maizie thought she would show, both her brothers, she wasn’t afraid. “Fine I’ll go, but you two have to come with me. Bring the flashlights.”

All three siblings crept out to the abandoned property at night. When they reached the cabin, a moaning wail made them all jump.

“What was that?” Rupert asked.

Maizie could feel her palms sweat in fear as the wailing continued.

At that moment, the banshee chose to sneak up behind them — a possibility which hadn’t occurred to Maizie and her brothers.

The banshee appeared to float, and a large black cloak covered her knotted grey hair. Her eyes were black coals piercing their souls and her skin felt like crepe paper as the banshee touched all their faces.

Richard said fearfully, “Banshees only come when a family member is about to die, what’s she doing here?”

The Banshee’s wails increased at Richard’s suggestion and she sucked the life out of all three siblings. Their young life forces were exactly what she required.

Her haggish appearance lifted and a beautiful woman walked out of the ruins of the abandoned cabin, smiling at her now youthful appearance.

November Notes: Day 4 – Poem – Octaine Refrain – “Set Free” #novembernotes #amwriting #poetry

Today’s prompt song is “Between the Lines” by Sara Bareillas:

——-

Between the Lines” – Sara Bareillas

——-

“Leave unsaid unspoken / Eyes wide shut unopened / You and me / Always be / You and me /Always between the lines.”

——

Happenings happening, eyes wide shut.

I missed the obvious closing my lids.

Was blind to what you were doing, and did.

Eyes wide opened, she appeared frustration!

I never thought I was abandoning us.

But was I? You turned to her, your voice hushed.

Jealousy felt, her familiar name cuts.

Thought we were joined, in-between the lines.

Happenings happening, eyes wide shut.

——

Happenings happening, eyes wide shut.

Weren’t we together in love? You’re now of me rid.

Your life is calm; tears continueously drip.

Abandoned me; you had hers and my trust.

Hers meant more; glad you had time to inform,

Not letting me know and leaving me torn.

You on your side, me on mine, the cusp —

Grieving time wasted, never said, you hid.

Happenings happening, eyes wide shut.

——

Happenings happening, eyes wide shut.

I’ve learned much; I know where I stand amidst —

Games of the heart; I’m on my line, listen!

Imagine telling me the truth — your lust–

Was your crime, you left me hurt, decaying.

But I’ve huge strength, I’ll find the path –my way.

Forgetting how you treated me, threw crusts —

Of your time; set free –no longer your tryst

Happenings happening, eyes wide shut.
