Miley Cyrus – “Malibu”

——

We’re like the waves rushing back and forth,

Dreams of sand and surf and of sky’s so blue,

We’re like the waves rushing back and forth.

Next to you it’s divine in Malibu,

And here I am writing this poem with you,

Dreams of sand and surf and of sky’s so blue.

It’s hard explaining, here I must write too,

Splayed near the tide’s edge on the ivory beach,

Here I am writing this poem beside you.

Next to you so inspired and reaching,

For soul deep words found here clear and true,

Splayed near the tide’sedge on the ivory beach.

Caught by turquoise ocean’s inner speech,

Motivated, words flowing with sky’s blue,

For those soul deep words found here clear and true.

Knowing our entwined love guides words on through,

We’re like the waves rushing back and forth.

Motivated my words flowing with sky’s blue,

We’re like the waves rushing back and forth.

Day 18 – NaPoWriMo/Ato Z Challenge/Saturday Mix: Poem – Terzenelle – “Memory-Keeps” #poetry #NaPoWriMo #AtoZchallenge #saturdaymix

Thanks to MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie for the Saturday Mix challenge. I chose the three words: collector, approach, and anchor for the Abecedary challenge. The NaPoWriMo prompt is “to write a poem that incorporates neologisms or a made-up word! Your neologisms could be portmanteaus (basically, a word made from combining two existing words, like “motel” coming from “motor” and “hotel”) or they could be words invented entirely for their sound. Probably the most famous example of a poem incorporating neologisms is Lewis Carroll’s Jabberwocky, but neologisms don’t have to be funny or used in the service of humor.” For A to Z Challenge the letter P will be used for the GoodRead’s quote.

“When it comes to memories, the good and the bad never balance.” ― Jodi Picoult, Handle with Care

——

What do you memory-keep, in hiding?

Is it shot glasses or dream-chains?

What do you memory-keep in hiding?

Mind-shells, collected in the ocean claimed?

Is it silver spoons, photographs?

Is it shot glasses or dream-chains?

Do you keep ticket stubs, find-maps?

Do you keep a journal or postcards?

Is it silver spoons or photographs

Do you approach life, to be a live-hard?

What objects hold your memories dear?

Do you keep a journal or postcards?

Do you buy rings, anchoring thoughts clear?

Or do you have a photographic mind?

What objects hold your memories dear?

Do you think of those who’ve been kindlings

What do you memory-keep in hiding?

Or do you have a photographic mind?

What do you memory-keep in hiding?

#OctPoWriMo – Day 21 – Terzanelle – “Light Pierces Veil Grave” #amwriting #poetry

Day 21 Prompt: Nature’s Calling

“When was the last time you were out in nature? A nature walk? Lake, ocean, river? If you are able, get outside for a little while today, smell the air, listen to the birds, see what animals are nearby and then sit down to write. If you aren’t able to get out for whatever reason, free write for ten minutes about the last time you were out in nature.”

When nature is green, lush, enjoy freely,

But cascades of coloured flowers soon die.

When nature is green, lush, enjoy freely.

——

Memories down paths, summer’s scent, I sigh.

Such beauty fleeting, worth a winter’s wait.

But cascades of coloured flowers soon die.

——

On glorious tropical paradise sate,

Though winter it be here, summer remains.

Such beauty fleeting, worth a winter’s wait.

——

Difficult in dim light, dark falls, stay sane

Though it appears darkness overtakes us,

Though winter it be here, summer it remains.

——-

Darkness always fades, it’s a promise thus,

January’s end, light pierces veil grave,

Though it appears darkness overtakes us.

——–

Higher in the sky, spring sun dissipates grey,

When nature is green, lush, enjoy freely.

January’s end, light pierces veil gray,

When nature is green, lush, enjoy freely.
