“These Boots are Made for Walkin'” by Nancy Sinatra

My thigh-high boots they walk on everything,

You know I’ve matches, and I’m not afraid —

To burn us all down because you’re in my way.

Breathe from your lips nip, sultry I sing,

I know things you ain’t the time to learn; my sleek —

Legs long, lashes fluttered, make you weak,

All these men want their way, without listening,

Spurning my mind; my Go-Go girl sweet sway.

My thigh-high boots they walk on everything.

My thigh-high boots they walk on everything.

I’m tired of lies, begin your truthin’,

Stop drinking scotch in disturbed aloofness.

I’ve found new matches, a lighter that’ll singe,

No more playing the mouse, no more tricks played.

Breathe into me, the man I know, who craves —

My sleek-black thigh-high boot’s, their little sting.

Step up to the bar, buy me a drink; let’s groove.

My thigh-high boots they walk on everything.

Sunlight bursting through once starlit glass gleams;

Rectangular windows above pedway’s,

Casting warmth with afternoon’s welcome rays.

High in the Heavens sun’s ambience beams,

To and fro the people pass by chatting.

Beams grey-green with geometric slats.

A vantage obstructed yet pristine—

In midnight ink with moon’s luminous sheen.

Sunlight bursting through once starlit glass gleams.

Sunlight bursting through once starlit glass gleams,

Casual movements of the light digress,

A subtle pace alters with night’s impressions.

From dark beauty to warmth daylight streams,

High in azure sky light enfolds brightly.

We absorb warmth into our souls once blighted,

Prosperous pedway light glows so serene.

Metal supports create shadows, daydreams.

Sunlight bursting through once starlit glass gleams.

——–

——–

Wondering in the forest, found sweet peaches

Away from the brilliant lights, the gasoline —

Cars running down pedestrians unseen.

Away from advertising, such harsh cries —

Selling products, various foods tendered.

My pockets are full and I’ve my own splendour.

I, Ulestra, have what I need supplied.

I don’t want to bicker with faceless vendors,

Wondering in the forest, found sweet peaches

Wonderimgin the forest, found sweet peaches

I’ve no love but for what nature she brings,

Other days I’ll shop, enjoy frivolties.

Those who want my peaches they come to me,

Cerise and sunrise peaches for a fee.

My massive dog, Uyeno, stops thieves’ sting.

Loud barks, I shiver but I’m safe rendered.

Wondering in the forest, found sweet peaches

The beauty of my love is sweet, divinely prized.

Through fields of wildflower I follow her steps,

Her milk white skin, soft, supple; she knows best,

How tiny goat kids, and dog’s pups will thrive.

They bleet, whimper, for her hands petting coats,

Feeding them drops of milk reviving life’s hope.

So they wil live glorious in pastures kind;

Become adults frolic, following my queen.

The beauty of my love is sweet, divinely prized.

The beauty of my love is sweet, divinely prized,

She gathers the chickens eggs to feed,

Those who grace her kitchen with smiles pleased.

Finds the dairy cows, milks them all beguiling.

She’s a feminist, believes we never stop learning.

She chose to farm, grows organic food, serves —

Customers desiring; at market they find hers first;

My love works hard, adores our life, she’s pleased.

The beauty of my love is sweet, divinely prized.

——–

Please don’t take my man, just because you can,

Your beauty is immeasurable, unique,

I wish my man wasn’t who you were seeking.

I know my request you don’t understand,

You can love again and do it easily.

I wish you didn’t make him feel so pleased,

He loved me before your auburn hair strands,

Brushed past his face, and made him so weak.

Please don’t take my man, just because you can.
——

Please don’t take my man, just because you can.

Your voice so soft like summer rain, laughing,

Your sense of humour for him attractive.

You float through life a stunning star ambling,

Not thinking of women like me you hurt.

Your seduction done so freely, not worth —

The heartache you cause just because you can.

I can’t love again, so value what you have,

Please don’t take my man, just because you can.

—–

Three lights in the darkness, pitch black all ’round.

A night deep, the black ink deftly hiding,

Criminals, the lost, truly evil find.

Misdeeds better performed where every sound —

Is a nightmare calling, no justice found.

Unrevealed secrets proffered, ungrounded,

Realization of innocents expounding

Out here ‘neath stars, curse of night, hurt resides.

Three light in the darkness, pitch black all ’round.

—–

Three lights in the darkness, pitch black ’round,

Presence of luminescence, rats scatter .

Lights are strong, don’t flicker, they matter.

Bring attention to the wounded, those drowned

All their sorrows piling-up —burdens

Shine your light thrice, save them for certain.

Demonstrate there’s another way clattering

Sing songs of broken hearts; at last they’re found.

Three lights in the darkness, pitch black all ’round.

—–

Three lights in the darkness, pitch black all ’round.

Though we may fear darkness, here there’s no need,

As long as there’s light radiant, just heed.

Never let your fears overcome, light resounds,

Washes out creepersshadows; it centres.

Gives hope for tomorrow, transformed life mends

Malevolence abounds, stay grounded

Light always wins —brilliance all precedes.

Three lights in the darkness, pitch black all ’round.

“Suffering has been stronger than all other teaching, and has taught me to understand what your heart used to be. I have been bent and broken, but – I hope – into a better shape.”

― Charles Dickens, Great Expectations

——

A heart that’s been broken, needs charity to heal,

Life we’ve been taught, is malicious and cruel,

We suffer and it’s under mankind’s harsh rule.

Capitalism, more money, less feeling.

Factories still, workers paid little or none.

Have we past Dickinson’s time? Progress runs,

Children suffer, no home or love that’s real.

We’re not past an era of being fools.

A heart that’s been broken, needs charity to heal.

—-

A heart that’s been broken, needs charity to heal.

We need homes, our family’s love this Yule.

We need to remember those broken cruel,

By the hand life dealt them, by their hurts stung.

We need to let them be with us here, among;

To acknowledge the poor, the weak, and feel —

Their pain, let them know Christ’s here, life’s renewal.

A heart that’s been broken, needs charity to heal.

——

A heart that’s been broken, needs charity to heal.

Vital to understand, life has no rules,

It’s the reason there’s pain, badness accruals

But seek to do better, show the world meaning,

Demonstrate, don’t forget others —

Those close and those far, all are our brothers,

Our sisters on earth; so this Yule reveals,

Though life’s experiences have us all schooled,

A heart that’s been broken, needs charity to heal.

The fantastic hides and we’re unaware,

Turning to look, we might find we’re too scared.

Adventures, colour, world with beasts daring,

They’ll ask a question —answer with great care.

Creatures with magic, books jammed with thoughts, stairs —

Causing absurd scenes, stairs move everywhere.

The fantastic hides and we’re unaware.

Turning to look, we might find we’re too scared.

Magicians do tricks; hands, winding music blares,

Beauty in circus apparel she stares.

Without a body; her arms and hands fair,

Melodic music raises our arm hairs.

The fantastic hides and we’re unaware.

November Notes: Day 4 – Poem – Octaine Refrain – “Set Free” #novembernotes #amwriting #poetry

Today’s prompt song is “Between the Lines” by Sara Bareillas:

——-

Between the Lines” – Sara Bareillas

——-

“Leave unsaid unspoken / Eyes wide shut unopened / You and me / Always be / You and me /Always between the lines.”

——-

http://www.pinterest.com

——

Happenings happening, eyes wide shut.

I missed the obvious closing my lids.

Was blind to what you were doing, and did.

Eyes wide opened, she appeared frustration!

I never thought I was abandoning us.

But was I? You turned to her, your voice hushed.

Jealousy felt, her familiar name cuts.

Thought we were joined, in-between the lines.

Happenings happening, eyes wide shut.

——

Happenings happening, eyes wide shut.

Weren’t we together in love? You’re now of me rid.

Your life is calm; tears continueously drip.

Abandoned me; you had hers and my trust.

Hers meant more; glad you had time to inform,

Not letting me know and leaving me torn.

You on your side, me on mine, the cusp —

Grieving time wasted, never said, you hid.

Happenings happening, eyes wide shut.

——

Happenings happening, eyes wide shut.

I’ve learned much; I know where I stand amidst —

Games of the heart; I’m on my line, listen!

Imagine telling me the truth — your lust–

Was your crime, you left me hurt, decaying.

But I’ve huge strength, I’ll find the path –my way.

Forgetting how you treated me, threw crusts —

Of your time; set free –no longer your tryst

Happenings happening, eyes wide shut.
