5998D9B6-5135-4933-84D8-B07AFABBCFB0Amanda is a freelance writer, blogger, researcher, editor and proofreader from Alberta, Canada. She began blogging six-years ago to improve her writing skills and share her thoughts on several topics including her experience with mental illness.

Over time, Amanda’s blog has developed into someth8nb greater than it’s original cathartic purpose. Along with her BA in English Literature and Certificate in Residential Design, Amanda has courses in editing, copyediting, proofreading, and  Creative Writing and fiction courses from Simon Fraser University, the University of Alberta, and from other online professors and teachers on fiction , grammar, and writing. Her last course was a practical fiction writing course from January 2018 to the end if June 2018.  In addition. To her BA English Literature Amanda is conserving an MFA through U of BC online or part-time at the U of A.

Amanda also has taken short blogging, poetry, writing, commenting, and photography courses through WordPress. She looks to improve her writing anywhere she is able.

She adores poetry and has been learning various new forms of poetry from the website Shadow Poetry. Each new type of poetry is fun and challenging. She writes poetry and short fiction for several prompts each week and hosts a Music Challenge Prompt every second Friday on the site: http://www.MindLoveMiserysMenagerie.wordpress.com, where she participates in many of their weekly prompts. She also is a Barista for the http://www.godoggocafe.com where she contributes poetry, short fiction, and writer/blogger interviews.

As a freelancer Amanda writes and edits academic works and examples, has edited several poetry chapbooks and a three part family history called ‘The Reeder’s Through the Ages.’ She has written for an SEO Expert concerning beauty, makeup, skincare, hair straightener reviews, and blogs for a non-cosmetic procedure office such Botox and Dermal Fillers. She had done a great deal of business writing such as RFP’s, letters, and some technical writing for WSP. Amanda seeks to expand on her successful freelance experiences and to continue to improve her writing through courses and practice.

Amanda has also been expanding and fine tuning her writing skills in fiction and poetry. She has recently been writing short stories and poetry and submitting them to online magazines and websites. She has poems published many times since June 2016 on http://www.spillwords.com magazine online and poems and short fiction on http://www.SickLitMagazine.com, and @herheartpoetry on Instagram. She has also published poetry in the past on Silver Birch Press.

On her blog, Amanda writes Flash Fiction for various photo and/or word prompts each week. Amanda also participates in other writing prompts such as Three Line Tales, prompts from MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie blogsite, Dverse Poet’s Pub. Some of her writing is unprompted.

Moreover, Amanda is working on the third draft of her novel called How Was Last Night? The novel has been in process for a few-years but is coming along well afte4 her most recent course.

In addition, Amanda enjoys the Edmonton sports scene. She is a huge Oiler’s fan (NHL) and pleased with the improvement of the Oilers in their new Roger’s Place Aren, despite last-years disappointment.  She is also a huge CFL fan of the Edmonton Eskimos who won the Grey Cup tin November 2015 and are hosting the Grey Cup in w018. Amanda also enjoys walking, doing yoga, and loves dogs, reading, shopping, discovering new experiences, restaurants, cafes, etc. and spending time with her friends and family.


Eventually, no matter her health, Amanda has a desire to travel across Italy to Florence, Milan, Rome, Venice, and Tuscany. She would also like to visit Athens and Santorini Greece. France and Paris, Lion, and Capree are also on her list, as well as some cities in Germany and Spain.
