#OctPoWriMo Day 11: Quadrille – “Sparks of Fire” #amwriting #poetry #dVerse

For OctPoWriMo Day 11 the Prompt is dancing. I will also combine the prompt with WhimsyGizmos #dVerse Poet’s Pub Quadrille prompt.

Sensuous con bravo.

Twirling weapon,

Revelling in sunlight.

She turns, reels;

Lifts feet, bends legs,

She’s a blood red rose,

Piercing thorns.

Arms graceful, vivace.

Precariously spinning,

Molto Protissimo.

Sparkling eyes,

Con adorazione,
Loving batons —
Sharp challenge;

Dancing becomes,

Enduring speranza.

Sensual rhythm,

Crescendoing into —

Italian Translations:

Con Bravo – With Bravo (a strong presence)

Vivace – Lively

Molto – Very

Protissomo – Very very fast

Con adorazione – With Adoration

Speranza – Hope

  1. Mandibelle, this is sexy and sensuous, and gorgeous, and I LOVE the use of hope in another language! To be a true Quadrille, though, it needs to be exactly 44 words long (not including the title.) This one has a few too many words. Can you shave a few? I would really like to leave it up as a Quadrille link at dVerse, as it is breathtaking.

    1. Thank you so much. I’m so thrilled you like it. Yes my counting sucks and I will ensure I go through this tomorrow to make it perfect. I’ll let you know when I’ve fixed it. Again, thank you so much 😊

    2. Hi whimsy, I did cut down the poem. I wasn’t paying attention yesterday and realized today I was a lot over. I’ve counted a few times and keep getting 44 words. So I hope that’s what you count as well. Thanks again 🙂
