Allison arrived at the local coffee shop for her morning tea. Her duchshund, Peppy, trotted beside her. His ears stood alert as he waited for his morning treat. The coffee shop was also an independant tea shop. There were black teas, fruit teas, herbal teas, white teas, green teas, and all kinds of delicious tea blends.

When Allison asked the barista for a mango green tea, Trisha sighed. “Sorry, Allison. We’ve had to cut back on teas we serve. We only serve three unique kinds each day. Too much competition with David’s Tea.”

“Okay, what should I try?”

“How about the pineapple, squash, and blueberry fruit tea.”

“Not a fan of that mix, Trisha.”

“How about chocolate and marshmallow with asparagus?”

Allison closed her eyes for a moment. “Any Irish Breakfast tea with a twist of lemon? Or green tea with papaya?”

Trisha shook her head. “No, our tea selections are three exclusive flavors each day.”

Allison rubbed her eyes. “I’ll have a medium latte.”

“You don’t drink lattes,”

“Today I do.”

Trisha bent to give Peppy his treat. While Allison sat down, reading the paper and sipping her latte.

Then she felt as if she was going to throw up, spitting a mouthful of latte into her napkin.

Even the lattes had become exclusive. This one tasted like dirt.

    1. Haha no I exaggerated. Um I live David’sTea and all their varieties of tea, some changing, some classics staying the same. I’m also fan of Steeped Tea which is like a party where you can by Tea and tea wares. I drink a great deal of cold tea as it satisfies my craving for something refreshing and a bit sweet but isn’t pop. If i feel I need something more pop like I add some flavored soda water and they go excellent together. Just watch the wait content in he soda water!

The reason I was exaggerating was b/c David’s Tea has corners this market where I live. Teavana, a similar store, is run by Starbucks and while Starbucks does excellent, they are shutting down many Teavana stores as in that area they can’t compete with David’s Tea.
Also, I’m not a coffee drinker so All coffee tastes like dirt to me lol. Even mixed with something rise 🙂
Glad you liked the story 🙂

  1. Some business owners think that change is best and if unusual, will be a real hit because no one else provides it. However, as in this case it can backfire and chase the customers to the competitor. I would be one of those that chose to seek another coffee shop! Hopefully, the owner will realize the mistake before losing too many customers. A very flavorful and enjoyable story, Mandi. 🙂

    1. Thanks Jessie. Yeah, you have to find your niche in the coffee shop/tea place market and a good one. This plan wasn’t good. Thanks for reading, I’ll be by soon. I have been on and off on WordPress lately. Happy Canadian Thanksgiving as well.

      1. The hurricanes sound scary. And I hope you aren’t feeling sick anymore. I do my best with the regular basis thing. I do some casual freelance work now so at times I can’t do everything I would like to on the blog. Enjoy your weekend!
