Saturday Mix: Poem – Cascading Etherees – “Silhouettes and Blessings” #poetry #dVerse #amwriting #SaturdayMix

Thanks to Paul Scribbles from the Poet’s Pub for hosting a #dVerse prompt reply on blessings. I’m combining this #dVerse prompt missed with last week’s Saturday Mix Prompt from Teresa of MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie‘s Prompt on doing a silhouette poem

———–

They’re not completely obvious, often —

Difficult to find, shadowed in,

Darkness, silhouettes hidden by,

Electrifying light so,

Tangerine-orange that —

All behind it is,

Hidden, pitch black,

They are masked,

Easy to,

Miss.

—–

But,

I know,

You have them,

Thankfulness for —

Blessings in disguise.

Shadowed, hidden behind,

Glaring light, such blaring noise,

Searching carefully, you’ll find them,

You’ll see all along what’s been taken,

For granted, unrecognized blessings.

—–

Sometimes they feel like curses, too much work,

Then, seeing others suffer you think,

Realize life’s not at all bad.

You’ve all your basic needs met,

You’ve extra money for,

Luxury and treats,

You’re well cared for,

God’s blessed you,

So share,

Give

—–

Be,

Not mean,

Or spiteful,

To those who beg,

They need a little —

Help; some food, money to —

Make it through the day and —

Eat; find a place to sleep and to,

Clean up; they only want to be like us,

Have their needs met, with the odd treat too.

——

If only we all counted are blessings,

When we were richly cared for, when He,

Made sure we made a living.

Had money to survive.

To buy little extras.

To be comfortable,

Provided for.

We rest, they —

Shiver,

Cold.

——-

They’re

Hurting.

But it’s more,

Than the unloved —

Silhouettes.

Never seen, covered by —

The light in the background scene,

Never visible, dark, unseen,

We miss seeing them these figures who’ll,

Disappear in dark, when sun falls and sets.

Inked stained hands,

Crook in neck,

Yoga relieving aches.

‘Limberness;’

Word searching for.

Scribbling schedule,

Deadlines, vital tasks.

Words appear,

Forced to write.

Hen-pecking,

iPads don’t use,

Primary school,

Typing skills.

Words blurring,

Distancing self,

Eat healthy,

Drink cold tea.

Meals on timer,

Or I’ll forget.

Inspiration shimmers,

Imagination entwining.

Eyes seeking —

Punctuation;

Repeated words,

Grammar errors,

Flow, organization.

1:00 p.m. beginning,

1:00 a.m. now.

Sometime in there,

Watered plants,

Walked.

Sleep anesthetizes,

Creative mind spins,

Dreams — the other world,

From where night,

Experiences are penned.

After Eight Moments…

I wanted to share a new Prompt from you led by the wonderful Cyranny. It’s called ‘After Eight Moments’ and you can read about it here, see if it’s a prompt you’d like to do. I really recommend it, not to mention the Prompt name is based off the most delicious chocolate bar. I’m a mint and chocolate person. How about you?

Now, if that’s not an After Eight moment, I wonder what would be!

Wow…

Exactly one month ago, I was launching the After Eight Moments series, quite honestly thinking it wouldn’t last more than a week, maybe less…

I wanted to give an old love a chance… Photography. I did take pictures regularly, but not like when I was in College, and had a passion for it. I was at a point where I took pictures to catch memories to remember people and places by. I took pictures of the obvious, and what presented itself to me.

I wanted to exercise looking for the hidden little things in life. I wanted my eyes to be on the look out, whenever I left home… And I must say that even if it didn’t always give the best pictures, the idea behind them was respected every passing day.

I didn’t expect people…
