Writing Prompt: Poem — Quadrille — “Silver Violinist” #amwriting #poetry #dVerse

Thanks to MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie for hosting this writing prompt to choose a title to write a poem or story about. I chose the title The Silver Violin. I’m combining prompts with a #dVerse prompt on a topic of our choice. Thanks to Bodhirose for hosting open link night.

Haunting music,

Tunes unearthly sweet.

He’ll wring emotion,

Notes disturbed.

Depressing songs blur;

His heart aches, yearns.

She left him lost,

She left him first.

Each night at Luna’s height,

He plays those notes,

Draining his being.

Souls quiver knowing —

Ballads the silver violinist,

Plays, plucking sorrow,

Into sunrise,

A final despairing note.

    1. I know Beverly me too. But for some reason it didn’t fit for me. I think because the scene in my head is this violinist has lost his wife. Misses her very much and that’s why he plays b/c she loved it and it’s a way of remembering her. So the final note is sad but it also isn’t b/c he is thinking about all the time they had together, yet at the same time he can’t have her back b/c she’s passed on. Thanks for reading.

    1. Thanks Rosema. He misses his wife very much. Put his silver violin he plays at night also allows him to remember her, the time they had together, the music they shared. Sad but also wonderful memories. Thanks Rosema 😊💕
