Friday Music Prompt: Poem – Octelle – “Blessed Escape” #amwriting #poetry #music

Thanks to MindLoveMisery’s Menagerie for hosting last week’s Friday Music Prompt, based on the Song: “To The Moon And Back” by Savage Garden

“To the Moon and Back” – Savage Garden

If you’re never accepted by,

Those who should love you, than go fly —

Where you’re unreachable

Find the moon, whom you beseech

For security and bet

Your scars bleeding, will contest,

Those who injure you; freely pry,

For reasons you’d trouble their lives.

Some people are thoughtless not your

Fault; you’ve been tattered, left worn.

Sometimes, life wears us all down.

As if we’re sand grains, winds pound

Your dark memories will fade,

Life quickly changes moon’s phase,

Waxing, waning, there’s more in store,

Then a brittle past; in life explore

So fly to the moon, your safe place,

Together we’ll be happy there paced,

To walk upon moon’s lunar

Surface; it’s dust old assumed

Let the past go; live, let die
Never wonder about our time,

For we’ve found our home; our grace

A full moon our blessed escape.

This Indonesian bloke… obviously psychotic, has just got on the train dancing to his stereo. The music is woeful. It is like the musical equivalent of hello Kitty. My request for Black Sabbath was not received very well

Bizarre. Then I got the arrogant international tourists following the tennis. My father used to put the Australian open on each year and promote it with Tony Peake and Collin Stubbs. Part of the back story to the fall of the house of Usher. Lol. My brother getting killed 21 years ago offended nice society. 500 at the funeral. Lucky to have seen 8 since… including my cousins 😎😆

Still getting over that frightful music. No wonder they are all on drugs. How else could they possibly bear to listen to it. It’s a no brainer why my cat chills out to AC/DC and Metallica though only Metallica with Cliff Burton on bass. Incidentally my cat has been sober her entire 14 years and she doesn’t need to stand in front of a room full of people and get applauded for it either.

Whistles!!❤️💜 This is absolutely gorgeous writing Mandi 😀 I adore how you have portrayed your perspective on the song through your beacon-like shining verses.. sigh.. especially enamored by these lines; “Your dark memories will fade, Life quickly changes moon’s phase, Waxing, waning, there’s more in store, Then a brittle past; in life explore.” Thank you so much for participating at Music Prompt at MLMM.❤️💜

    Lots of love,

You’re very welcome. I’m so happy you liked it that much. One of my fav songs by Savage Garden, I never really liked the other ones that much. Thanks again 🙂
