Top Box: Beauty Box October 2016 #beautybox #topbox #beauty #canada

Hi. Here’s an impromptu beauty post for those of you interested. I usually stick with my Luxebox beauty box which comes quartlerly each year but I notice the same company has started doing a monthly box in Canada. This means the beauty box (or bag if you choose) is a great price and equal to a monthly beauty bag from the US, but not with the price of the US dollar. It cost me $12.60 Canadian for the first bag. Even though they were products I’d received or tried before, I like the little bag and was satisfied with how much you get in products for one month, verses quarterly. So here’s what I received:

——

The Bag – I opted out of the box to be environmentally friendly.

———

A Full Sized Nail Polish in the colour Sorcery from Ceramic Glaze (14 ml) – a dark blue-green shade

——–

Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo Mini with Sea Buckthorn Berry (Obliphica) (0.7 net wt Oz.) – I love this dry shampoo! I found it at one of my favourite salons before and was pleased with how well the dry shampoo worked, giving your hair lift at the roots.

——–

Delectable (miracle material) Ultra Nourishing Handcream – Coconut and Cream (2 fl. oz) – Another awesome full-sized product. I had this as a sample in the same size before and I used it all up. It’s wonderful handcream and the coconut smell isn’t overwhelming!

———

The POREfessional Pro Balm to Minimize Pores by Benefit (0.1 fl. oz) – this sample was small, but it’s Benefit and their makeup is more expensive. This is one their best products. I’ve raved about it before. It makes your skin so smooth and is the perfect primer in any weather. It’s light and your skin doesn’t break out and only a small amount of product, goes a long way. So even, the sample which is small, will last long!

A Mixed Bag

——-

A handsome hawk watched as a sparrow spreading its impressively small wings, approached the birdfeeder. This fellow was piggish and fed on the seed a while. His red-brown back and tail with dark black mixed in with red-brown, made him highly visible.

After a while, the male sparrow flew away from the feeder back to his nest, and his mate appeared to come eat. She also ate an amazing amount of birdseed before flying back to her nest. The mama sparrow was plump but her feathers in comparison to the male, were dull to keep her and her chicks hidden. If his eyes weren’t so sharp, he would have barely noticed her.

The hawk watched the couple from far above, his eyes sensing and studying their every momevement at their nest. He knew there were baby sparrows in the nest. Mostly, he was concerned about the fat sparrows. The babes he heard peeping were too tiny and shrivelly to eat.

The hawk screeched, his loud cry deafening as he swooped down, his reddish feathers gleaming, a nightmare on wings. When the plump sparrows each returned to the feeder to eat more seed, the hawk mercilessly crunched them between his sharp razor beek and ate them one at a time. How they never suspected he was close, he didn’t understand.

This was the natural world taking place, the food chain in action; though it might seem unfair and harsh it was how it was. But as the daylight darkened into night and the well fed hawk flew back to his own nest, a great horned owl swooped in for his own dinner.

In the morning, a mother sparrow, having lost her own brood, landed near the nest where she heard the tiny birds chirping. She looked into the nest and chirped back and then sat among the chicks; she realized they were abandoned.

Wary of of predators from her own past experiences, she waited to gather food until when she was sure it was safe. Perhaps nature sometimes made up for its treachery, even if the truth if the food chain was ‘eat or be eaten.’

Don’t take her I pray,

Are the words prayed in vain?

Don’t take her I say,

We’re still young, not grey.

Don’t take her I said,

She’s such a light to her friends.

Don’t take her I beg;

She’s a star growing dim.

Don’t take her I ask,

Her absence would be a hole, pitch black.

Don’t let her leave us,

Tears stream and stream.

Don’t take her away,

She has a little guy, just two.

Don’t take her I pray,

She’s beautiful and frail.

Don’t take her I ask,

Little bird, fading away.

Don’t take her I pray,

There is no one like her.

——

Don’t take her I cry,

You’ll make her mom grey.

Don’t take her I pray,

Yet, I don’t want her in more pain.

Please help her I pray,

She needs a miracle.

Don’t leave her I pray,

She needs you Lord–carry her.

Don’t take her I pray,

Give  her your strength.

Hold her so tight in your loving arms,

Don’t let her fade,

My cherished friend.

Don’t take her I pray,

She’s tired and hurting.

Don’t take her away,

She has a future of potential.

Don’t take her I pray,

Her husband loves her too much.

Don’t take her I beg,

Don’t let her light flicker out,

Into the darkness –out of life.

Don’t let go of her hand,

Don’t take her from us;

Time in life is too short.

Don’t take her away,

Our inspiring fighter.

Don’t take her please, Lord,

She’s so tired of being ill.

——

Don’t let her hurt Lord,

There is too much pain in life.

Save her from such fiery claws, I beg,

There is too much pain within —

Cancer’s horrid grip.

Don’t take her away,

Don’t let her struggle be for not.

Don’t let her sparkle dim.

Don’t take her God please,

She’s such a beautiful soul;

Oh God keep her close.

Let her heal and be whole,

She prays and she reads your words,

You’re her fervent hope.

Don’t take her away,

Good Lord, let her be free;

Don’t take her from life yet,

Though she’d be at your side,

Down here, we’ll miss her terribly.

Only if there is no other way,

Do I pray you for your will to take.

Please, don’t take her away —

Leave her be well;

Healthy and free of all sickness.

Fill our dolly with healing,

Lord our hope, Lord our light,

Bring her hope on wings of life.
