Poem: Acrostic – ” Loyalty of Friendship”

The prompt for Poetry 101 is friendship in an acrostic.

Laughing, my confidante, you never tell my secrets.

On travels everywhere, we were in awe by history’s splendor.

Young and free we were once; before love, and life, pets, and kids.

And the friendship has shifted; the laughter at adult adventures.

Loving how we always come back to exactly where we left off talking.

Trust is a bind woven between us; the threads of life keep us honest.

Years pass, though distance parts; our friendship stretches, never breaks.

  1. “Laughing” gets the prominence of position. And what a wonderful choice for setting the tone and quality of both the poem and the relationship. This is a healthy look at friendship, ending with the reality that good friendships stretch in time (in capacity, too) and do not break. Happy wise work, Mandi!
