A Rondeau is a French form, 15 lines long, consisting of three stanzas: a quintet, a quatrain, and a sestet with a rhyme scheme as follows: aabba aabR aabbaR. Lines 9 and 15 are short – a refrain (R) consisting of a phrase taken from line one. The other lines are longer (but all of the same metrical length).

Aspire to rise above it all; dream,
Only the rise and fall of breath seem,
Real, vital, required, live a song,
Perhaps, we can do more than long,
Believe, sip, drink shifting sun beams.
Shadows hover, light inside gleams.
More of your tight hugs, I can dream.
Shifting darkness, your lies wrong.
Rise above it all.
Crossing rapids in waters, I glean.
Useful thrilling of sights unseen.
I can wish, time apart not long,
Time enough to echo what is wrong,
Time, brings together, a seem.
Rise above it all.
