Poem: Acrostic – “Be Mine – Beginnings.”

Acrostic Poetry is where the first letter of each line spells a word, usually using the same words as in the title.
(Note: You can use the last letter of each line instead of you like.)

See Shadow Poetry here for more information.

Be it so that I am allowed to do anything I want for the day — I’m pretending.

Entertain my deepest desires, anything I choose would be so,

Glorious possibilities await my each whim — all things are only a swipe of my finger away.

I would choose to spend my time with you because when I see you, time stands still. You are the one for me. I know it. The equations told me.

Never for long would we be apart; we could be happy you and I in this dystopian world. In a world where the decision is never truly ours.

Not that we have long to decide; in our time, we choose are mates at a glance through intricate mathematical equations and raw physicality.

Inventing our love story through my own creativity and imagining we are more then only strangers with intent to mate.

Not sure how our personalities will rub off on each other; will we be a perfect match or a couple who rips each other to pieces inside and out.

Going to hope that one day you love me, that we can be a family like they had many hundred years ago; going to pray you accept me and love me despite my flaws. I love yours, I’m told.

So, I’ve chosen you by our complicated futuristic mating system, will you choose me and be the one I return home to always. Despite being many ages away.

Thanks so much Deb. If you have the chance take a Writing 201 course on poetry for a couple weeks or participate in National Poetry Writing Month (NaPoWriMo) in April. You will find that and many other forms and devices of poetry. Thanks for reading. Happy New Year.
