Writing 101: Farewell – ” The Road Ends Here.”

What can you say to someone walking away,

Down the last road they’ll ever take and with their–

Head held high, a smile on their lips and not–

A thing that they could ever want in time left.

The road ends here.

You were beautiful and full of life you,

Had that smile dead women walking have, you said:

“Lord knows it’s been a hard life and that won’t–

Change on this earth but I know my moment.”

The Road ends here.

Walking out into the surf , your eyes glow,

The sunlight transforms your pale wan frame.

In the blink of tears you are on the road,

A spiritual quest, you won’t be returning.

The Road ends here.

You wave goodbye, your a pretty twenty-one year old.

You have lived your pain, now it’s time to feel,

Reckless with abandon, because you have,

Gone to your eternal home; I miss you.

The Road ends here.

Memories of you keep me strong and I,

Find that I can carry on and live life how,

You wanted us to live, free and hard working,

Having known your love and deeper loves, we say:

The Road ends here.

Poem: “Light.”

What creature fears the light? And who

Would hide from having light shone,

A breathtaking brightness blare,

In open air the light gives birth,

It chases out the shadows.

It won’t let darkness win, it takes,

Away the black and horrible.

It creates a lit room, your soul,

With a sword of truth,  blaring,

Light comes to darkness winning,

Chasing out the demons, and with —

Brave sound acclamations brings,

Forth the bearer of candles —

Such a little flame can break the dark.

What dare does evil do but run and —

Find the deepest darkest hole

It is the only place left to–

Simmer in sulphur and live in,

Flame of the eternal death,

But light is opening up —

The cracks and sneaking past black,

It seeks to bring a peaceful,

Glow that no evil can ever fool,

Light in the darkness built worlds,

Our world, because in the start,

“There was the word and the word,

Was God, and the word, was with —

God. It was with him in the —

Begginning.” And light will always,

Defy, what is at heart deceitful,

Light is the strongest power I

Know, and in a world where I

See Christmas lights glow, I am —

Reminded there is always light.

Writing 101: Camaflouge – “Demon Within.”

If you look closely and try,

You may see things that are alive.

That hide behind the veil lifted;

Reveals a soul oh so dark ,

Utterly twisted at heart.

You may see things huge and torn,

A memory of childhood born,

And blood seeping through the core,

And not a place you want to live.

What unstable being lerks within,

When we see passed our own sin,

Seek forgiveness and find that,

A monster still lerks there in.

He hides with growls and much power;

He is the epic Grendle to slay,

Did Beowulf forget to prey,

A seething demon hiding,

Would never arise again and–

We can’t hide behind our horror.

We can’t decide we’re afflicted,

And let the demon in his —

Golden palace glitter sleep.

We must fight the monster hid,

Deep beneath our normal-self.

The part that no one can see,

The soul in a dark prison,

A prison of ebony.

What capricious darling,

Needs to be torn to pieces.

The light envades the darkest–

Places in our hearts and minds,

My soul wakes up to find that God,

Designed us a Camaflouge,

We should never hide from He

Who is every space and those —

 Hidden inbetween sight.

We are able to find within what–

Has hid and free ourselves from —

A captivity and find–

A dream of peacefulness,

Divine providence, focus.

Don’t let the darkness win the

War for your soul and fight it–

You are hidden away and–

Safe, once condemned but alive,

With the coming of the light,

Remove the shackles and clothes,

That hid the human within the

Walls of oppression and sin;

Of Camaflouge you have —

No need, go now, be at peace.

Poem: “Passed Out“

There is a place where I can’t do well enough or try hard enough. My body goes into survival mode and I need to sleep to deal.

I cannot do anything, when lethargy takes me over and I have only thoughts of comfort and rest.

I wake awhile later, hopefully restored. But days of feeling great, always take their tole.

I try to fight the sleepiness but I know my body will not be well and my mind will not make sense, until I have rested ;however, long my body needs.

It is an annoying problem to be held back by a body and mind that have been chipped a bit; when bad things have happened to make the neurons clouded and send the wrong messages in my brain.

Sleep is tied into energy, and energy tied into feeling fatigued. It’s a curious matter I have learned to live with but find difficult on dark afternoons such as this, when the the outside is pitch black at 5:oo pm

But when I am full of energy, I never waste it. I am glad to have the time I’ve got and so I fill it with tasks and creativity. Time is such an illusion we always think we have more then we’ve got.

I’m sleeping late but staying up later, and writing aspects about life that matter. But burning both ends of the candlestick can result in a tired mind and body.

Maybe, you understand the feeling. But then maybe you don’t. I give what I can give. Then I pass out.
