Day 14 – NaPoWriMo – Dialogue Poem – ” To The Whale”

To the whale on my wall

Why do you swim there at all

In infinite grace you flip your tale

Flat as a board, you are my mural whale

I wish to be free to swim in the ocean

But things are quite difficult without any motion

I’d like to eat fish and be part of a pod

But I’m just stuck her where I give you a nod.

Oh whale what fisherman caught you

How’d he get in my wall as you do

All the the things that whale pictures are supposed to

I look at my wall I am overwhelmed, why don’t you swim

Child, I’m a picture and I long for the sea

It could be just you and me

I’d give you a ride on the back of my dorsel

But I am merely a painting, and paintings stay on walls

You’ll never free me I am the wall whale

I’ll never free you, you aren’t even real.
