Day 1 – NaPoWriMo – Negation Sonnet ” It Does Not”

It does not share my bed at night

It always forgets to tuck me in tight

It never used to be so mean

But the things it says are now obscene

It doesn’t hold my hand to pray

If I’m honest, it has nothing to say

It doesn’t tell me I’m fair and pretty

It rather stick to it’s own little ditty

It doesn’t keep me warm inside

Lately I find it makes me want to cry

He doesn’t make me feel trust

But all I go through, I know I must

The things that break us with their shame

Build our character and help us fight pain

  1. I didn’t realize this was talking about a man until the sentence, “He doesn’t make me feel trust,” Umm I would get rid of this man Mandi! By the way, the last line, “Build are character” should probably be “Build our character.”
