Photography 101 – Home

Photograph Home

Home is where you leave the light on. That way everyone who lives there knows that they’re welcome to come in and be at peace, be at rest. Candles make me think of home not only for that reason but this one I show here for its fantastic smell of cinnamon vanilla. They are homey smells that make me think of cookies and the best way to make a home smell wonderful is through decorations like candles and your baking/cooking. Food is also that warmth and scent that draws us towards home, the place we find comfort after a long days work. I couldn’t light this candle like I wanted without getting a halloweeny glow but I also wanted to associate home with the hearth, the center of the home and the candle does that well. The people maybe the true center of the home but the hearth draws us all together.
